If the disk was burned correctly, when you stick in the disk if you are in AV mode I think it will say "CD Rom" or something and just sit there and not do anything. If you hit map or on the nav screen, it will bring up a screen automatically to say "do you want to perform this update? Yes or No" and if the parking brake is not on (or the parking brake sense wire is not grounded) it will have the "yes" grayed out. But it's pretty automatic. I think you can see the nav screen in a 1/4 inch outline behind the box that asks if you want to perform the update.

The most common problem I would say is that the burned disk would have the ISO file on it in data mode. You need to run Nero (or img burn, or Alcohol 120%) and don't burn a data CD and put it on there, but you want to tell it to burn the ISO file and select that file and it will create the disk with all the files on it. That's a very common problem. Many people mistake that with putting the ISO file on the disk.

If when you stick the disk in and hit map and it just sits there, then I would focus on the disk. I'm guessing there is something wrong with the burn or how you are doing it.

I ran the second option CD, ran both bypass cables as instructed. My stock Z2 unit has been bypassed I can now access my bluetooth phone menu and dial from the screen and watch DVDS on the fly.

Problem, my unit no longer recongnises my Pioneer Rear view camera

My navigation is of-calibrated

My AV1 input which was ipod video is grayed out

Any suggestions

Go into the initial/setup unit and turn on your camera input and change the AV1 input to 'video.' Give it some time and it should calibrate

Since I took out my AVI Z2 and placed the two grounding cables.. I am getting a lot of noise. Could it be that my wire gauge is low, or did i ground the cables in bad location.

What other causes of noise is there?

Thanks for the help

what version should the z2 display after the bypass is done?

I've been reading some other threads and i have a june z2 unit, these threads are saying that i still need to do the disc upgrade, is this true?

others have been saying that the june z2 units are by-passable by just performing the two wire bypass and no software upgrading needed, is this true?

Thanks in advance guys!

The software change took place sometime in June. I have seen them that require the update, and others that don't. I would just download the file, burn it, and stick it on. If it says already updated, then you are good to go. If not, five minutes later you will be

Iso file? When i downloaded from the megaupload site all i got was a rar file.i extracted the files and burned and nothing has worked...should i just burn the rar file? Or if someone could provide me with the iso file.. That would be awesome

The OP has linked the file, Z2BypassUpdate.iso then burn image.

Please please forgive me but I've searched and searched the forum and haven't found what I'm looking for. The file hosted on megaupload is a .rar file not an iso. I am familiar with burning iso's as images and not as data but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with the rar archive. Please help!! I just need to know how to burn it. Thanks in advance!!

Wrong. There are two links, you obviously picked the wrong one.
