  1. You are right sir. I got up this morning turned on my car and it said updating 1/1, rebooted and all is well. F'n Pioneer's always gotta screw with us. Bastards.
  2. Ok, I see this has happened to quite a few other people. You put in the update disc and it gets to about 90 then it says failed and just keeps a never ending cycle of rebooting. What I don't see is an answer for it. I have a Z2 and I got my disc FROM pioneer. So I don't know what else to do. I have tried resetting it about 20 times and it just keeps saying update failed, rebooting. HELP!!! What do I do now? UPDATE: It fixed itself. I got up the next day and it finished the update. So if this happens to you don't panic. Just give it a day and it should take care of itself.
  3. 20 is the loudest volume or loudest mute? The loudest muting level. 20 reduces the sound so you can hear the guidance or phone call but in my experience it's still to loud. If I'm just listening to XM or some other media source I leave it at 10. But if I am using the BT then I have it set at ALL. Just personal preference. Try each and see what works for you.
  4. I have been trying to find a decent Lexus background and they are all grainy. I have a black GS 400 and I would love some like the Scion ones just with the Lexus Logo. Any help would be much appreciated.
  5. You are unreal. I don't know how many time I have to say Crutchfeild before you check it. So here ya go. Do the math sport Clarion Head unit then Nav 899 each http://www.crutchfield.com/S-4nyAuZrxZh ... =020MAX675 http://www.crutchfield.com/S-4nyAuZrxZh ... =020NAX970 Now Z2 http://www.crutchfield.com/S-4nyAuZrxZh ... =130AVICZ2 So math wiz, which ones cheeper??? Now try Amazon and countless others and let's hear what you find. We both know no one is gonna pay MSRP so why are you picking a fight using those numbers. Just drop it bro. I was just trying to point out
  6. First, grow up. there is no need to be calling anyone here a biich. You're the one that's to lazy to do some research before you throw in your fanboy bs. Learn to read before you make your next post. I didn't say my 'friend' said it was cheeper. 'I' said it was cheeper, and you can go on crutchfield or just about any other site and find that out for yourself. Next 'I' said that the BT sounds better on the Clarion. I have the Z2 and if you learn to read you can see I even said that I like it. And seeing as how I actually have it on the Z2 and have heard it on both I was letting everyone know th
  7. How do you figure it cost's the same? Crutchfield sells the Z2 for $2200 while they sell the Clarion for $899 head unit and $899 Nav. Do the math. If you are smart you buy it from a stereo shop and pay $1500 out the door for the Clarion Headunit, Nav, BT adapter, iPod cable and install. But hey, I'm sure that's what you paid for your Z2. And as for putting it to shame. You will just have to see (or do a little research) the Clarions iPod interface. Best looking and as fast as the iPod itself. Here. If you can watch this and say the Z2 is better than let's hear it. http://reviews.cnet
  8. Clarion does make a unit for the states and it is Bad Ass. It's the MAX675VDII. Best iPod control I've seen. Gorgeous UI. 30gig HD (Can't rip music yet) My buddy has one and I believe it puts my Z2 to shame. He just got the BT adapter for it too and it sounds perfect. Check it out. Cheaper than the Z2 also. He paid $1500 for the head-unit and the Nav. Head Unit http://www.clarion.com/us/en/products/2 ... 67357.html Nav Unit http://www.clarion.com/us/en/products/2 ... 67543.html
  9. Dude, why single me out about the complaints on Nav? I am one of MANY on this site very disappointed with the Navigation. I'm happy you like the Z2 as do I. But you did just get it and when the excitement of watching U2 WHILE YOU DRIVE wears off and you start HAVING to use the Navigation those little issues you speak of will become just a bit bigger. Good luck though. Hope you have a better experience with the Nav than I and MANY others have.
  10. I got an Audiovox one with auto start and two way paging that I love. Auto start is great for when it is hot or cold and by the time I get in my car the Nav has already booted up. And the two way paging just makes me feel that much safer. Fairly expensive instal depending on what car you have though. This is what I have. http://www.audiovox.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... &langId=-1
  11. I'm not sure this is what you are looking for but I had an N1 that broke down so I called Pioneer and was told basically the same thing. Only difference was that I had to pay $200 to get mine fixed because it was out of warranty by that time. I felt the same way you did but it all worked out fine on my end. Hope this helps. Good luck. BTW, I would make a copy of the receipt just to be safe.
  12. Short answer is yes. You have go go into the system settings when you are in AV mode. I believe the two boxs on the bottom left are for muting your stereo for either guidance and/or phone. You can also change the level of the muting from 20/10/or all (20 being the loudest). If you have a phone hooked up I would set it to all. Good luck.
  13. Seriously??? It's only been said 3 times in this topic why you would check your Nav with a route that you already know. If you enjoy all the U-Turns and extra miles (or Scenic route as I'm sure you call it) then more power to ya. As for me I will continue to be bitter and hope Pioneer gets there act together. And yes, it does look great in my car.
  14. C'mon, now, boys ......... isn't past your bedtime? Mommy is going to spank you. Now, you go on and play in your sandbox like nice little boys and let the grown-ups alone. But you'll be invited back when you have your license or have more than two neurons firing simultaneously. Now, go-on ...... shooo. Nice.
  15. I have just called Circuit City and Best Buy and they both said that they have discontinued the GEX-P10XMT. Anyone know anything? does this mean they are making a new one?
  16. Exactly. The reason you try routes you know first is to check the system out. If it gets it right then great. But when you ask for shortest route and instead of giving you the same route Google, Yahoo, Map-quest, Garmin, etc give you it has you go 30 miles instead of 12, that's a problem. You would expect the system to get it a LITTLE off every now and then but not to this extreme. One turn her or there is fine but adding 10, 20, 30 miles and adding 10 more turns is just bad. Also, to me, a system should NEVER put you in a position to Have to make a U-Turn. This does it to me constantly.
  17. You were right about the constant wire. I checked it and now it saves my stations. As far as the "updating" problem I called XM tech support and they said it is a bad unit. If it takes longer than 10 sec to update there is a problem. Well seeing as it has been updating for 24 hours I'm guessing it's a bad unit. BONUS!!! Now circuit city (where I bought it) doesn't carry it anymore. Said it's discontinued. Well atleast the radio part works. Thanks for the help anyway. UPDATE. I Read in the Z2 manual that if it says updating then it is not receiving signals from either radio or traff
  18. No, As far as the XM I followed the directions and just did the yellow and black wires. Good or Bad?
  19. Even though the channels change fine and the music works? Other than the Traffic and the deleting of the saved stations everything works. So that sounds like there is a problem with the Yellow wire??? Would it have anything to do with the fact that I didn't reset the XM box before I installed it?
  20. I just installed the BT adapter which works great and the XM Traffic (GEX-P10XMT). 20 min after I got it activated it worked great then about 2 hours later it just says updating all the time. The music plays fine (except for a handful of channels) but none of the traffic features are there. And when I restart the car my saved channels are gone and it's back on 001. Any songs I saved are gone too. HELP! What do I do? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. EDIT: No need to read the rest. All is well. Fixed and working fine now.
  21. I totally agree. I would love to pass this along to Pioneer and let them know that it's not just one or two people pissed off about this. I have yet to talk to anyone who says the Z1 or Z2 nav doesn't suck. If anyone can think of a way to make Pioneer hear our message I'm fully onboard
  22. Well the play by play goes as follows. Example 1: I live on the other side of a canyon from my parents, friends and some places I frequently hang out. Now there are a few ways for me to get from my house to where I want to be. I can take the freeway route that is about 31 miles and has me take 3 separate freeways and basically make a big U. Not my first choice EVER. Traffic always sucks and no matter what time of day it takes forever. I can take canyon road 1 which is about 15 miles total and even in rush hour never takes me longer than 20-25 min. Or there is canyon road 2 which is 13.2 miles
  23. Anyone figured out where the detailed lane info is yet?
  24. I had a Bypassed N1 and I made the mistake of updating it with the N2 discs (costing me the bypass no less) and while the Nav wasn't the best with either version it wasn't anywhere near as bad as the Z2. I have read god knows how many posts about this and everyone seems to agree that the Nav is almost unusable. We were told it uses a "smart routing algorithm" but it seems they forgot the smart part. What the F*#! is wrong with this thing? It's the most expensive 'Nav' on the market and by far the worst. (from what I'm seen anyway) And, why does Pioneers most expen$ive system use the
  25. THANK YOU! I spent over an hour talking to a bunch of idiots at Pioneer that didn't have a clue what they were talking about. How did you find that? I looked through the entire manual, looked all over the Pioneer website and TeleAtlas and it was no where to be found. What about the lane info?
