  1. where is the GPS receiver mounted? is it possible that you could be getting shoddy reception from where it's mounted? once in a great while my AVIC gets lost, but corrects itself after some driving. i have mine on the dash...all the way to the front and on the passenger side.
  2. you love it, but it's a pain in the ass. that's alot of typing to get nothing across but that you don't like this unit. it's ok....i'll buy it off your hands....for a reduced price of course. sounds like you can't wait to get rid of it.
  3. i'm gonna take a stab here and say that they're talkin about "visual noise"....when there's a video playing off the ipod onto the D3.
  4. i doubt anybody is gonna want to register just to see pics.
  5. All this is making me glad i just bought an 80 gig w/video........THAT WORKS ON THE D3!! no...i'm not rubbing it in.....ok......kinda.
  6. this was a funny story! cracks me up what some people will say to make a couple hundred more bux.
  7. FullSizeChevy.com....i think but then i also remember searching "AVIC" on Yahoo! and finding it that way as well
  8. That does look good!! you have plenty of clearance with the 4x4 shifter?
  9. It's sure gonna look good when you finish it. I personally liked the black puke look......different
  10. Nice!! those look like they'd save alot of headaches and sliced fingers.....as well as sparing a few clips.
  11. i like it when you guys stick together!! not what i'm getting at. you pay for an install because you don't have time and/or because you figure they can do it better.....only to find out they do it half assed.....at least it was in my book. i'm not here to start trouble, so chill bud.
  12. Actual labor was $125 (i know, very reasonable). I do trust these guys and they have been around a while. I tore apart my dash to do the bypass and saw the mess. I know there's a bunch of wires and it's gonna be cluttered, but i didn't expect to see the modules just piled in and hanging around with the wires. i just figured he told me the bypass couldn't be done due to liability. either way, i'm gonna call em and let em know that i'm not exactly happy. hell...it wasn't like i was rushing them.
  13. pretty much what i did it's hard to hear all those noises when you're doing it to YOUR new truck. LOL
  14. the more i think about, the more i think you're right. i put a whole new system in my Jeep (pioneer head and infinity speakers) and used butt splicers. i guess i was expecting the same. like i said....maybe i was being a whiny lil bitch
  15. I got it done and it works beautifully!!! Thanks for all the info!!! but now I'm pissed!!! After I saw how they installed it, an infant with MDS coulda done better!!! They used wire nuts (at least they crimped them ) and the pswips and onstar harnesses are just piled in there with the rest of the wires. not monted up....just thrown in hoping i'd never look in there. maybe i'm just being a bitch, but paying that kind of money for a professional install......i expected more.
