  1. Just picked up a 25 spindle of RIDATA discs last night. First try with the East disc (no verification) sort-of worked in my D3 - but there were digital glitches all over the map of Chicago, many of the buttons no longer had icons & voice navigation didn't work. Second try with the East disc had an error on verification so I'm trying again at 4x. No idea why I've had issues with the East disc - West disc burned fine. This is on a Pentium 4 dual processor linux machine with 3 250GB drives via RAID5 and a gig of RAM. Still looking for an MD5 checksum on the East disc iso from someone who
  2. I had the same problem with the East disc. I also noticed a bunch of digital glitches on the map data on the East disc. Burned the West disc, verified 100% and it worked perfectly. Gonna buy another set of DVD+R DL discs tonight and try the East disc again. If this one doesn't work, I'll probably patronize SW's sweet deal. Can anybody else verify the MD5 checksum on the East disc iso? K3B calculates it as 192ad6f5d11b5df409389aad006f9727
  3. Oh well, too bad we missed our chance. Unless maybe there was another place you could get it possibly. http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4439960/Pioneer_Navigation_West_CNDV_80MT
  4. EDIT: Got the East disc burned successfully but haven't tried it yet in my D3. The link to the West disc seems to be dead now. Everything OK on the server end? Thanks much. Seems to be working better for me now... I got the East disc downloaded and burned but the verification didn't work. The zip file is 3.36GB and the ISO is 7.61. Seems small to me. Just a thought - could you run MD5 checksums on both files so we can be sure our downloads aren't corrupted? Thanks!
  5. Both of these crap out at about 1.4GB for me. Anybody else having this problem?
  6. You need to check all the wiring to make sure it was done properly. If it doesn't work until you physically stop, he either didn't ground the correct wires or didn't move the mute wire.
  7. Busted! Nero 6's disc copy feature sorta worked - the maps and everything were fine but I couldn't input addresses or anything. Spent 4 hours quadruple checking my wiring, then booted up with the original discs and everything worked! Currently trying out DVD Decrypter - hopefully no more $3 coasters. scurvy
  8. The real ones worked! It works! Man, this unit is incredible. Thanks for the help in documentation to everyone, and let it be known that using a Nero "Disc Copy" on Memorex DVD+R DL caused me to not have full nav functionality. Hopefully nobody else will have this problem. scurvy
  9. First of all, this forum rocks - thank you all for contributing! I recently installed an AVIC D3 in my 2006 Golf TDI GLS - I used GomobileR32's DIY over on VWvortex to find all the correct wires. All wires to the Metra harness, VSS, night mode & body ground were stripped, twisted, soldered, liquid electrical taped, electrical taped (after the liquid stuff dried for at least 2 hours) and bundled with cable ties. Yes, this took quite a while. I did the bypass mod. I confirmed the moved mute wire, ground & parking brake wire were connected, grounded through the harness as well
