  1. Has anyone been able to get the phone book to transfer from the Droid to the 4000DVD? I had no problem doing this with my Blackberry but I can't get the transfer to work with the Droid for some reason.
  2. I installed mine yesterday and so far I love it. It sounds way better than my F series, no lag and I can use my Pioneer steering wheel controller I miss the navigation but it never worked half the time anyway.
  3. They sent me a new unit which didn't work much better at all and dies two weeks later. I no longer own a F series and wouldn't recommend it to any of my customers. Good luck with yours.
  4. SO everything works with the 4100DVD? I just got a credit for my F series PILE OF CRAP and it looks like this is the radio that I am going to get with the credit. It will be nice to have a remote control again!
  5. Will, save yourself a lot of time and agrivation and wait for the new Pioneer units to come out. THe Avic F series have been discontinued and the new models should be out in a month or so. Coming from a profesional installer of 17 years I would say the F series is the WORST pioneer unit I have ever installed with a return rate of 50% at our shop alone. I had one customer that was so angry with his that he punched a hole in his screen. I am on my third unit and I bet it will be just like the first two. Don't get me wrong, when a customer walks into my shop I always recommend a pionner unit just
  6. I wish I was, I have had at least 30 pioneer units over the years and this is the first one that is a total POS. Do some searching and you will find many others that have the same issues. There are some happy customers here for sure but I think for the most part the F series stands for FAILURE! By the way this is my second 900BT, on the first one the Bluetooth and voice recognition wouldn't work. I replaced the mic but that wasn't the problem, it was in the unit.
  7. Yeah 3 weeks was about as long as my 900BT lasted too. Pioneer needs to figure something out quick. NOT A HAPPY PIONEER CUSTOMER You can try reloading the 2.0 update but if yours is like mine it wouldn't stay on long enough to do anything. Its back at pioneer and I am on my second week with a hole in my dash
  8. I got a update on my unit yesterday, according to my supplier they are going to be sending me out a "new" unit next week. When I asked if it was brand new he said no its a re-formatted unit. When I told him that was a refurb he said No it wasn't it was just re-formatted.....LOL. When I told him that I didn't want someones used radio that already had problems he asked me why I was complaining and that I got a deal on the unit to begin with. Needless to say this supplier will never get my business again. The part that kills me is I still think Pioneer makes some of the best sounding radio's on t
  9. I was just informed today that I will be getting a REFERB radio in the place of my 3 week old radio that I sent in. I am not happy at all and I feel real sorry for the customers I have sold this radio to. It baffles my mind that after buying and selling Pionner for over 15 years that they refuse to give a credit for a def radio and will send a refurbished radio in its place. If there is one mark on the refurb radio or doesn't operate PERFECTLY I will be contacting the BBB and getting my money back for sure. This is by far the most frustrating problem I have had in a long time.
  10. I am going through the same thing right now and I am not happy. I am on my second 900bt and its won't do a thing but sit in the dash and look pretty. I called Pioneer and they say I have to send it in. The company I bought it from said they won't refund my money because the unit is discontinued and pioneer won't issue a credit or refund to them. If you can get your money back do it now and wait till june when the new X series comes out. If I get this radio back and its still garbage I will be calling the better business bureau next and getting my money back for sure.
  11. I have been a fan of Pioneer since I started driving 15 plus years ago but they are starting to leave a bad taste in my mouth with the Avic F series nav systems. The first one I installed in my car had a problem with the bluetooth, nobody could hear me. I swapped out mic's but that didn't fix the problem. I sent the stereo back to my vendor and he sent me a new one. The bluetooth on the new one was better than the first but still nowhere near the quality of other systems I install for a living. Then after a couple weeks my F series just won't boot anymore, I tried everything to get it booted i
  12. There is no IR sensor on the radio so it isn't possible to use a wireless remote. The only way you are going to be able to use a remote is if you car or truck has steering wheel controls.....bummer for sure.
  13. I can't get past step one....Even with the update SD card in the unit won't stay on. It lights the buttons for about 10 seconds and then shuts down. I can hear the fan running but that is about it.
  14. I have a three week old 900bt that just did the blank screen thing yesterday. I don't have the hadrware or software bypass so Pioneer is WRONG. I am going to try hitting the map button and see if I can get my unit to boot. I do know for sure that I had the backup cam disabled on my unit.
  15. I forgot how to do it and I am on vacation trying to search with my cell phone. If anyone knows the procedure please post it. Thanks for the help.
  16. This is strange but I have a 3 week old 900BT that has been working fine. Today I turn my car on and the Pioneer screen comes on for 5 seconds, then there is a thud in the speakers and the whole unit shuts off. I pressed the reset button and it does the same thing over and over. I have NO hardware or software hacks on my unit....I didn't want to hack the radio at all just for reasons like this and I am glad I didn't at this point. Any idea what this could be?
  17. Money sent, thanks for the deal!
  18. Well if it only warns me once while I am driving I can live withthat but if it constantly warms me then I will def look into the software bypass.
  19. So after I get the warning once and press OK it will keep doing it the whole time I drive or just any time I restart the system? I have mine installed in one of my cars that is off the road right now so i can't test it. I have installed multiple 700bt and 900bt units in customer cars with the parking brake grounded and have always seen the warning come up but never drove their vehicle's long enough to see if it continue's to pop the warning up on the screen.
  20. Sorry to up a old thread but I figured I would ask here instead of starting a new thread. If you ONLY ground the Parking brake wire and get the "parking brake wire not connected right" screen, once you press OK will it appear again or is it a one time screen?
  21. Hey I found that Nokia HFM-8 mic online, does it plug directly into the 900BT? It looks just like the Motorola mics that come with their bluetooth systems, they are pretty good and nice and loud.
  22. I would def like to try a diff mic and see if that solves my problem. I have a new nav coming in on Friday but I would also like to try a mic just to see if that helps. I found this one locally that I may try this weekend IF the plug is 2.5mm http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... Id=2466269
  23. Well I called Pioneer today and explained my Mic problem and they said that it sounds like the Mic is bad. Lucky for me I had another Avic F-900BT come in for a customers car and I managed to take the Mic home with me and try it out. THe new Mic sounds exactly like the other one so its not the Mic, it must be the unit. I have a replacement unit on the way, hopefully that fixes the problem. My supplier told me he has sold hundred's of they units and I am the first one to ever have a Mic problem. I told him to take a peek on this site and he will see that this isn't a isolated problem.
  24. I know my problem is a bit different than yours, my incoming sound is fine but people can barely hear me when on the outgoing side. I firmly beleive this isn't a Storm problem since I paired three other phones and still have the same problem. I wonder if this is a BT firmware problem? What version BT firmware do you have loaded in your head unit?
  25. Just curious which BT firmware version you are using? I am using the latest HW100-SW330-RC3 and wonder if reverting it back to the older firmware will make a difference? Does anyone know where the older firmware can be found?
