  1. Yes, not having the motion lockout bypassed will keep any video (including the rear AV input) from being displayed unless the car is not moving and the parking brake is on. You also have to make sure that you have the secondary monitor enabled in the display properties on the laptop. Also, I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can not make a secondary (external) monitor operate as the primary monitor with a laptop so the F700 would not display the start menu or icons that are on the laptop's screen... unless it has a "clone" setting where the same thing is displayed on both monitors. That dep
  2. Documentation from Pioneer's website AVIC-F500BT: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/Navigation/Portable/AVIC-F500BT?tab=D F500 add-on amp module, if you have that: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/Navigation/Accessories/ND-G500?tab=D Wiring diagram: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=116706#116706
  3. Attach the mute wire and parking brake wire to either the black ground wire on the radio.
  4. What format are the videos in? If they are not already, you need to convert them to divx. Then just burn the files to a DVD. There's plenty of topics discussing what formats to use and the like. Just do a search for DIVX on the D-series boards and you should find a good deal of info.
  5. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE. Basically a company that runs a bait and switch operation. You order something at a too good to be true price. And guess what? IT IS too good to be true. You submit your order, and the next day a salesman calls you to give you "special offers" which are either things you do not need, or an attempt to charge you for things that already come with what you bought, all at outrageously high prices. If you tell them you don't want to order any extra things, they conveniently discover that the item you ordered is out of stock and on back order. It's the same company,
  6. IT'S NOT A DEFECTIVE UNIT IF IT HAS THE SAME EXACT PROBLEMS AS EVERY OTHER UNIT ON THE MARKET, EVEN A NEW UNIT YOU JUST BOUGHT FROM A RETAILER. THEREFOR THERE WOULD BE ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE WITH THE UNIT HE IS SELLING OTHER THAN THE FACT THAT IT IS USED. WHAT IS SO FUCKING HARD TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT THAT? maybe all that heat in Arizona has adverse effects on people's higher brain functions...
  7. Do you have "display album art" or whatever enabled in itunes? They album art may be present in the music files on your computer, but itunes may not be sending it to your ipod.
  8. I'm guessing that at certain locations the microphone will pickup echos or reverberations that may interfere with the unit recognizing the voice command properly. And these areas may even be different depending on what car it's in. Your best bet is to just try it out in different locations and determine the best spot for the mic before mounting it with any kind of permanency.
  9. If you're not getting satellite signal, your antenna isn't connected properly or isn't working. The bypass will not effect your satellite signal.

  11. http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17542 BTW, if you're looking about info on how to hack or mod the unit, you should look on the Hacks/Mods: F-series board. Not the general board. Read first, ask questions second.
  12. Well if that is the case, they aren't encoded properly. The SD card slot and DVD drive are meant to play files with different encoding. If it plays on the SD card slot, it SHOULDN'T play on the DVD drive, and the other way around as well.
  13. Exactly. What this does is remove the necessity to move and ground the mute wire. The parking brake wire still needs to be grounded.
  14. Doesn't look like any of those are text to speech compatible voices...
  15. Yes, it will be covered because it is a defect in the unit, either mechanical or electrical. If the unit is still under warranty, that is covered.
  16. You should be able to get one at best buy or Circuit City. You can also get one online.
  17. You need the Pioneer ipod cable or the Apple composite cable. For the ipod, the USB port is only for controlling and charging the ipod. The wire you need also had red/white/yellow RCA jacks that connect to the unit's AV input to supply sound and video.
  18. The accuracy will be OK without them unless you are in an area where there is little or no satellite signal, like in a tunnel or the woods. I'd say go ahead and hook them up if you have access to them. if not, don't. Try it without them and if it's accurate enough for you, (since you are installing it yourself) I'm sure you won't have any trouble pulling the unit out to hook them up. The bypass will not void the warranty. Since the bypass is done to the wiring harness and not the unit, there is no way for them to know it was bypassed.
  19. Simple solution. Don't hook them up. Use the nav for a while, and if it's not accurate enough for your liking, pull the radio out and hook them up.
  20. Well, I guess you could say I had no issues in the sense that I never tried to burn a copy because i don't have a D-series radio which kind of excludes me from needing this disk.
  21. More like the majority of retail audio CD's do not come with CD text.
  22. Well yeah... but are these new ipods going to cost $130? Doubtful. Probably more like twice that much at least.
  23. If someone here actually gets one, rips it, and seeds it, I'm sure they would let us know.
  24. ^ what software are you using to burn the disk? Also, try burning the disk at the slowest setting you can.
