Its 3am and the screen still has a bright white background instead of a black contrast one for night driving. Guessing it goes by the illumination wire... so i checked it in the hardware status screen and it shows no connection on it. I soldered all my connections, so the PAC adapter must be bad on that wire. I'll have to bring over an illumination signal over from the adjuster wheel or the climate control center. IN THE MEAN TIME... Is there an option to set the screen to nite time viewing with black background? How about dimming the buttons/screen? Also... iPod video doesn't s

What's the benefit of going with the D3 over the Z1/Z2?? Also, I take trips in the winter where its known to dip to -50f... whats better to run: a disc system or HDD? My solid state nav's have always worked fine and so has my stock GM disc unit... never ran an HDD system before.

I saw the links for the Z1 images on the upgrade sticky... but where are you guys getting the Z2 image from? Got a deal on ebay to pick up a Z1 for $800 and i figure i'll upgrade it to the Z2 for a few extra $$... otherwise i'll go with the D3 thats only $650 new. I'm just hoping the Z1 won't freeze up and break in -50f weather
