  1. really? pioneer seems to have some module with it. Whats that? will the Panasonic one automatically switch to the camera screen when I reverse?
  2. Will it work on D3? Would it be much more difficult than installing the Pioneer one? http://cgi.ebay.com/PANASONIC-UNIVERSAL ... dZViewItem
  3. So I'm new at this. What's the best way(=as many videos on one DVD) to burn downloaded videos (not sure if they're encoded in DivX or what not) to view on the D3? I dont really understand what that "Nic's FourCC changer" thing is either. Anyone care to enlighten me?
  4. I also installed D3 in 07 GTI using the CARPI connector Audio menu in MFD is gone. Track +/- functions are lost but the volume and mute buttons work.
  5. the mute wire might not be re-connected properly. The installer could have pulled the mute wire with brute force and broke the clip that holds the wire in place. This may explain why it worked on the first day but most importantly, DONT PAY THEM $150!!!
  6. I just installed D3 using the CARPI connector and none of the steering wheel controls work! (I bypassed) Am I correct in grounding the mute button or does it also have to tap into another cable? Reverse, VSS, Illumination all seem to work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! i have 07 VW GTI btw,
  7. gosh you're all such smart mouths this is what i used http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthrea ... ht=pioneer http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_prod ... o=CARPI221 Anyone with any useful input? any help will be appreciated. Thanks,
  8. I know that the track +/- buttons dont work to begin with but even the volume and mute buttons dont work for me
  9. what about the mute cable? Do I even need to bother connecting the RCA connectors? Oh and what about the two smaller cables that I pulled out from the factory HU? what do I do with them?
  10. I just cut the black and brown connectors off. The rest of the wires are all stardard ISO colors that match up to the AVIC harness. The only difference is that the ground wire is brown instead of black. Also, the purple wire is reverse and the Blue/Black striped wire is the VSS. Illumination is orange, yadda yadda. Here's a link to a PDF of the VW standard wiring harness: http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/VW-Wiring.pdf Also, an extra tip, make note of the purple reverse wire that is in the black connector and put a piece of tape or something on it. That way once you cut the connectors o
  11. But i still need the antenna cable right?
  12. Do you have to hook up to the ignition wire also? Thats what the audio shop guy told me when I tried to get them to lower their quote. (said the ignition wire isn't behind the audio) So if I want to do this myself, D3 Scosche dash kit antenna adapter CA-R-PI.221 VW/Seat/Skoda Steering Wheel Remote Adaptor Are those four things all that I need? Also, is the bypass method different for CA-R-PI.221? I've never done anything like this before. Do you guys think this is something I can take on? Sorry for all those questions but I'll appreciate every reply!
