  1. Do you have the ipod cable? Have you done the bypass mod? If you have the ipod cable, make sure that the TV Out setting in the Ipod is set to either ask or on. This is found in the video section under Video Settings. Now on the D3, make sure you are under the Ipod section. Look in the upper or lower right corner for the "Video" button. Press it. The D3 will show a black screen with instructions to start the video from the ipod. Start your video and enjoy. You can fast forward and rewind from the D3 screen during ipod video playback, but you cannot start a video from the D3.
  2. When the D3 gets power for the first time it has no data from the satellites. It shows as being in NYC because you have the east disk in. If you drive for a mile or so, it will be collecting satellite data and give you the correct position. It retains the satellite data until power is lost due to a battery disconnect or dead battery. Long winded way of saying it is doing the proper thing, and you need to give it some time to get the data from the satellites. Happened to me last weekend when I had to disconnect the battery. Upon reconnecting the battery and driving a mile or so, the ma
  3. I have been running with the gps antenna under the dash for the last 3 years and it appears to work just fine. In my GMC Envoy there is a metal bar under the dash in front of the HU that the stock gps antenna would mount to. I used this bar for the D3's antenna. The D3 does seem to lag behind actual position a little though (couple hundred feet), but I have not moved the antenna onto the dash or outside to see if that fixes it. Could just be a D3 issue or it is the antenna not getting as strong a signal. ct_mike
  4. The D3 will output the Ipod video to the rear screen. This works with my 5.5 generation ipod video (the 80gb model), the newer Ipod models will require some research on your part. ct_mike
  5. I may have some information on a couple of these questions. The black and white lines is the default wallpaper for the screen. You can change that by going to the Nav Menu, Settings, and Display options or something like that. There are multiple pictures available on the Nav DVD. Setting the time is as simple as putting in your time zone as it relates to Pacific time. The actual time comes from the GPS satellites. Example: East coast would be +3 hours and wait for a good gps signal to set the time. Hope that helps. ct_mike
  6. If you do have hid's check their ground. They do use "only" 35 watts, but it is at a much higher voltage and that higher voltage can put out different frequency interference. The ballasts are step-up transformers and that could be the source of your noise. ct_mike
  7. itsmethai, I can tell you that my 5.5 generation ipod will display its video on the headrest screens through the D3, just like a DVD in the D3 will. I was using it that way yesterday. You will need to hook the headrest screens to the video output in the wire bundle behind the D3. ct_mike
  8. Does the vette have the speed control volume like a lot of the other GM vehicles? If so, the VSS signal is already in the harness I believe. ct_mike
