  1. My ipod always stays charged and plays less than 30 seconds after starting the car. When the car shuts off and the avic turns off, the ipod stays on for a couple minutes until it goes into auto shutdown. It did take several minutes to get enough charge to power up when I went a couple weeks without using it.
  2. I wanna say that the USB female is putting out less than 1 amp of juice so you probably couldn't even maintain a charge on a android device. My Galaxy S4 screams at me when I connect it to anything less than 2 amps. As for why your AVIC is not detecting it, check your Nexus settings and play with the USB modes and see if that does anything. Mine is only detected on my PC if the USB mode is set to Media. I've never tried connecting my S4 to my Z140 so I can't confirm it if works or not.
  3. Have you read through this? http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/34520-basic-reboot-loop-fix/ I don't even know if this will work on the F10BT but it's worth a shot. Pablo
  4. I'm curious if maybe completely replacing the file structure from an F-Series onto a Z-Series would force the firmware to change to an EU version. I'd give it a try if I wasn't so afraid of bricking my unit. Who knows.
  5. The script worked flawlessly. Thanks a ton! What's the deal with your F10?
  6. Here goes nothing. Hopefully Hackmode doesn't hose my AV.exe again. Have you seen anybody install the EU software on a US model over at the F-Series forum?
  7. chaosuk, I'll give your script a shot and see if it works for me. For the life of me I cannot get my copied files to paste over to the SD card. Thanks for your help. RonS, Do you know if they ever figure out how to install the EU software/firmware on our US counterparts? I downloaded the 2013 EU update for the F-series thinking it would be as simple as dropping them onto an SD card with the modified VERINFO and CARDINFO files but I couldn't get my Z140 to boot into the update. I was, however, able to update the bluetooth firmware using the update SD card. Pablo
  8. I figured out that Hackmode wasn't Testmode when I entered it and I couldn't figure out how to enter Testmode to follow the directions for making a backup. And actually, when I used Hackmode to manually put the AV.exe file into the proper folder, I received a prompt about overriding the existing file, so the file was actually there but it must have been corrupted. As soon as I overrode the file, the system booted normally. I still can't figure out how to make a backup even now that I'm actually getting into Testmode. I have tried two versions of Testmode but one did not offer the ability t
  9. Have you tried booting into test mode to see if the buttons work there? If not, download the archive and place the files into the root of an SD card. Insert the SD card into your unit and it should boot into test mode and you can use the physical buttons to navigate the menus. If you are able to navigate through test mode you might have a problem with your system files and an upgrade to the 2013 maps might fix your problem. http://avic411.com/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_id=14630
  10. I was able to get unbricked by using the AV.exe from the 2012 update.
  11. I didn't realize the AV.exe would be on the firmware update so I downloaded the entire 2012 maps torrent and grabbed it from there. Haven't tried it yet but I'm pretty sure it'll work. If not, I'll check the firmware update. I'll get back with you if I need more help. BTW, there is another member who this happened to and is requesting help with the AV file for his F930BT. I don't know if you can help him with acquiring the AV.exe for his unit.
  12. In my attempt to make a backup using Hackmode 2.2, my av.exe on my Z140 was deleted or moved. Needless to say, I can get into hackmode and testmode but I cannot boot normally and I received a notification from hackmode that my file was missing. Can somebody with a backup please post the file? I'm still on the stock 4.0, zero updates so far.
  13. How do I make a backup of my Z140 using Condi's Hackmode or Testmode? I've been able to get into the file explorer in v2.21 and could not use the directions given on the first post to make a backup. I also tried using 1.4 and I was able to boot into Testmode but I could not follow the directions because there was no such option to select the USER folder and "copy" it to the SD drive. I must be doing something wrong because everyone else seems to be able to back up there units. Any advice is appreciated. Pablo
  14. I just moved to England and I'm interested in upgrading the maps in my stock Z140 to the 2013 Europe maps posted in the F-Series hacks forum. Can I just drop the EU update files and the CARDINFO.cif file for the Z140BH into the root of an SD card and assume it should work without bricking my unit? I haven't messed around with testmode so I haven't made a backup and I probably won't do so if there is a relatively low risk of getting bricked. Any advise is appreciated.
  15. I just moved to the United Kingdom from the US and I will be picking up my vehicle at the port this week. I have an AVIC Z140BH in my car with the original 2012 maps. Can I simply put this EU update with the modified files onto an SD card and have it update my maps? I don't care about losing my radio since we don't really use it. Thanks for your help.
