You can't use usb2 for app radio. Only usb1/iPod for app radio.

Hey Mark, to answer your questions Yes. You get album artwork with the lightning connected as USB. Sound quality is much better than Bluetooth streaming with the cable. Also album artwork doesn't work with Bluetooth streaming. Your entire library is shown and you have full control of your liberty via the head unit. If your using the digital av adapter, you have to setup the unit to see the adapter. My personal opinion. Digital adapter sucks. App radio is laggy. I thought i would be excited about it. Quality is not great in app radio being it is connected via HDMI. H

go to settings, background, select AV instead of HOME and scroll through the background pics. it should be the 1st animation. I like the EQ better

Load time is about 3-10 seconds. But once I hit SD SOURCE. it said "reading format" and few seconds later it was playing a movie.

I'm using a 16gb sdcard. The unit does play MKV, MPEG4. And let me tell you it looks beautiful. I have lots of blu ray files. And it is crisp and looks amazing. I don't have to sit at my computer and convert to AVI.

Same here. I am using a iphone 5 with iOS 7.1 and no problems here with bluetooth. Try to disconnect the bluetooth and pair it again or reset the radio.

Yea I totally agree with you. I love this unit. Im using the Apple digital adapter with my iphone 5 and I just go to HDMI source and voila I have my iphone mirrored to it. I dont think you need ARUNCHAINED. i could be wrong, Im not familiar with Android products

Yea I got the same one twice. First one I ordered i painted it to match the cream interior. what a mistake. it came out horrible. then i ordered another one. Its the xscorpion brand. I kind of like that it has that inward curve.i made my lines up to the inside of it. Ill take pics in the morning. The one thing that I dont like is that is smaller than the opening. and you can see a lile through it. I might order flat one. but then the bottom of the radio is going to stick out

And to answer your question. I think the radio will only see the app radio function as the adapter. Not USB function. I guess there is no way around it unless you manually change it to USB from adapter.

I'm using my lightning cable and a generic hdmi cable with the apple digital av adapter and it seems to be working for me. I don't know if pioneers cables are any better than what we already have. But it's for my 8000nex.

I think the 4000nex can use a bypass since it doesn't have a nav.
