  1. Turn down the Alerts volume setting (on the right hand side of the volume bar) and Siri will become much more tolerable. I have mine set at 3.
  2. iHeartRadio works perfectly. I wish they'd give Spotify a few tips.
  3. I've never heard of Tune-in. How is it different from iHeartRadio?
  4. I'm not sure rollback is possible. I know that after 1.06 came out, Pioneer said it was impossible to go back to the firmware before it.
  5. +1 on the Amazon Basics cables. Well made and work great.
  6. 1.08 fixed the popping sound for me too, thankfully.
  7. I just noticed on my phone that I had "Background App Refresh" set to OFF for Spotify. Later, after work, I'm going to try Spotify with that setting switched to ON and see if it makes any difference.
  8. Have you tried setting the "Alerts" volume? It comes up on the right hand side of the volume bar whenever you raise or lower the music volume. It controls Siri too, but it should adjust the other notifications as well.
  9. I like Spotify radio somewhat better than Rdio. It just seems to play a better variety of music, at least for my tastes. Also, for some reason, I feel like the sound quality on Spotify is better, even though I know they're both capable of 320 kbps.
  10. Whoops--I spoke too soon. Spotify worked great yesterday (on IOS 8.1 and the newest version of the Spotify app), but today it's back to crashing constantly and not playing music at all. Still haven't installed the 1.08 firmware, so maybe that will fix it (again).
  11. I thought it did, for a while. Spotify worked great for me for most of yesterday. Today, however, it was back to crashing constantly. Oh, well....
  12. Spotify is working just fine for me now, after upgrading to IOS 8.1 and the latest Spotify app. Something strange I've noticed, though--if I try to change the music while music is playing, it doesn't work. But, if I press pause on whatever's playing and then choose a new station or song, it works perfectly. Haven't upgraded to the new Pioneer firmware that was just released today (1.08), so hopefully it'll still keep working after I do.
  13. Great, thanks. I won't be able to install it until late tomorrow.
  14. Hooray! Is everything else still working properly?
  15. Please tell me it fixes the audio pop!
  16. I'm definitely going to wait until I have 8.1 installed before I touch that Spotify update.
  17. Even if it came out today, I wouldn't install 1.07. Not with IOS 8.1 right around the corner. In fact, I'm surprised Pioneer would even issue an update when everyone's going to be updating to 8.1 shortly. Just sounds like it could cause more problems than it could solve. Right now, except for the annoying audio popping issue, my CarPlay works just well enough for me to avoid any further Pioneer involvement unless I know exactly what the benefits would be, and that the update wouldn't cause more problems.
  18. No idea. If you look at the release notes, though, all it says is "Minor Bug Fixes." Doesn't sound like too big an update.
  19. You can't use the European updates on U.S. models. So, for people in the U.S., firmware 1.07 is NOT out.
  20. It's not out in the U.S. yet. Somebody the other day posted in like 10 different threads that it was out, but that's only for the European models.
  21. Exactly. I've been trying out Rdio and I'm glad it works, but I prefer Spotify so much more.
  22. Seems like it's not working all that great for anyone. I'm really surprised they haven't rolled out an update by now.
  23. That's a European model update. It doesn't apply to the U.S. units.
  24. Is anyone's Spotify actually working properly? Just wondering if anyone out there is able to actually use Spotify with CarPlay. And if so, can you thumbs up/thumbs down songs? Mine crashes pretty much anytime I try to play a song. Or, no matter what song I choose, it just plays whatever the last song was that I played from my iPhone's music app. Very frustrating.
  25. You should NOT use European firmware updates on units in the U.S. From what I understand, they are not interchangeable.
