  1. iDataLink responded to my Facebook post regarding my model car and head unit, connected via iDataLink Maestro RR: https://www.facebook.com/idatalinkmaestro/posts/10205602577450332 Their response doesn't entirely make sense...how can the PAC unit adjust the clock, but the iDataLink Maestro RR can't? One good thing that came out of it...they updated their RADIO list to include the NEX models. Before my Facebook post: After my Facebook post: Really bummed that I can't adjust my clock. I'm reconsidering my plan to get the PAC (turns out I didn't order it yet, thou
  2. If you want fast (on the computer, not necessarily in the car), this is a bit pricier but VERY fast: http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Extreme-Transfer-SDCZ80-064G-GAM46-Version/dp/B00KT7DOSE/
  3. Thanks for posting that. Not much on the Apple Developer site. https://developer.apple.com/carplay/
  4. Old reliable, 128GB for $39 http://www.amazon.com/PNY-Turbo-128GB-Flash-Drive/dp/B00FE2N1WS
  5. Please send your feedback to Apple, include "CarPlay" in the subject...they do monitor feedback! https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
  6. Does Waze work In AppMode via iPhone? When I connect the Lightning cable CarPlay kicks in and there isn't a way to switch to AppMode. When I only use Bluetooth, AppMode doesn't seem to work. The AppMode button on the top left of the NEX screen doesn't do anything.
  7. I'd keep an eye on: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_Auto Sign up for alerts here: http://www.android.com/auto/ Waze was aquired by Google in 2013: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2013/06/google-maps-and-waze-outsmarting.html I haven't tried, but does Waze work through the NEX platform via iPhone (not via CarPlay)? Don
  8. The dilemma continues. From this forum the choice between Axxess and iDataLink was clear, the later preserved the most OEM buttons and functions. Recently PAC released their RP4-HD11 and from what I'm reading on the crvownersclub forum, it preserves all steering wheel controls (SWC) and also preserves the ability to manage your i-Mid display. If anyone here is a NEX fan, and you own a 4th generation Honda CR-V (2012-2015), might want to look at: PAC RP4-HD11 http://www.pac-audio.com/productDetails.aspx?ProductId=1196&CategoryID=26 I just ordered one, and will shout back
  9. I have an AVIC-5000NEX and an iDataLink Maestro RR, and combined all the radio features are working fine. Is the HFL module a separate module that enables i-Mid control? If so I'd like to get with my shop to see about ordering/installing it. PS, thanks for this info! Don
  10. The iPhone 5s is CarPlay compatible, have you tried replacing the cable? The #1 problem with CarPlay is bad cables. Try a new cable and see.
  11. That's what NEX is designed to give you. Navigation, along with the flexibility of leveraging your mobile phone for navigation if an app is available. The beauty of NEX is if it can display your phone's navigation app (does an app exist?), it will combine your phone's A-GPS chip (which uses WiFi, Cellular and up to 2 satellites) with its own GPS chip (which uses up to 8 or so satellites of the 20 or so existing). So by using your phone navigation you get better performance in cities (A-GPS + GPS), and integration with your contacts (mom's address). And by using NEX, you have the fl
  12. (underscore removed from block of text) CarPlay is just an extension of iOS, it's just a matter of time before new features are added. The more folks submit feature requests, the better: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html I submitted several requests. Including: Show speed limit Show current speed Font size options since 1/3 of screen is taken up by navigation text info Layout options (ability to customize toolbar, navigation text info block, etc. Take advantage of space better, right now hiding toolbar doesn't really gain anything Recent/favorite locations accessibl

    SD Cards

Sandisk 16GB works fine in my AVIC-5000NEX, as long as it is formatted FAT32.
  14. Please submit feedback to Apple...they do monitor it: https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
  15. Calls have been fine for me since AudioWorks in Delaware moved my mic from the console area up to the rear view mirror area.
  16. I believe CarPlay only works through USB1.
  17. My apologies, the work was already done. If I saw this sooner I could have asked for the tech to take an image. The tech moved the microphone over to the rear view mirror, seems to be not as bad as where it was by the instrument cluster area.
  18. Please tell me you're not in the Delaware area.
  19. I just got back from the shop and I'm disappointed. The tech said the posts on this forum don't mention CR-V. At first he said it was not possible, but I can't accept that - it's more professional to say "I don't know of a way". If there is any way possible to use the 2014 CR-V's built in mic, I would love to do so, hoping more folks post answers.
  20. My apologies it was hard to tell whether you meant CarPlay (Apple Maps) or the AVIC NEX map. Not sure what's happening there. I'm still not sure how to get the traffic function to work on my AVIC-5000NEX. UPDATE: Ok so no traffic on the 5000. :.(
  21. I'm not sure the Traffic feature is enabled on my AVIC-5000NEX. Is there a trick to turning it on? Does it require any iPhone apps to feed it traffic info? Also looking forward to any NEX map updates, as I use it more than CarPlay when I'm on the open road. CarPlay works better for me in cities with its A-GPS function.
  22. @RRSpikes that's what I was hoping to hear. When I asked the techs at the shop I usually go to, they explained it's just a matter of knowing which wires do what and wiring accordingly. I'll point the tech to this thread, thanks so much for confirming!
  23. @joemamma1954 Try updating to iOS 8.1.1, released today, might have some CarPlay related fixes in there. Apple doesn't always list all the fixes they put into patches (most vendors don't).
