  1. I have a list of what changed #s I got it off the xm site.
  2. I am going to buy some more DL discs tonight. except some of the old stations like 27 still work... if this is the case, is it just the pim that needs to be swapped out with the new one and the appropriate name? The excel doc I posted earlier indicates which old icons still work, it seems that even though the channel number changed, but name stayed the same so it finds the pim. in this scenario, changing the PIM file should give the correct logo. assuming there is a new one. if the channel name changed, then the imagtbl.dat file needs to have a name change. such as xm chill, w
  3. Rocky, This topic was started to work on the fix, it is a bit complicated, but someone keeps trying to hijack it to promote contacting pioneer customer service. Good luck with that.
  4. I used it in Atlanta last year, now I am in dc, commuting from laurel MD to reston VA. it shows the traffic backups, problem is, there is no alternative route for me, I have to go over the chain bridge on 495. along 95 it seems to work ok, although it failed to recognize a backup leading to the harbor tunnels in baltimore one saturday morning. I usually find myself hitting the xm traffic info station to get the full picture. if you already have the tuner, I would say go ahead and try it out for a couple months, otherwise, I would probably hold off.
  5. fingers crossed, i dont have a good photo editor so I could not do any advanced editing, I just thought it would be good to have all the icons in one place. if we can get this working 100% we can maybe ask that JLhong to host it on his ftp server, if not, I have a server we can host it on.
  6. Here are the icons in BMP format. I guess to convert to pim I will need to get irfanview or something. ??? do the catagory names need to be changed? or does the d3 pick that up off the broadcast? xmiconszippedBMP.zip
  7. I think the catagories changed as well, ex. latin is now Latin & World, I see them in the hex editor near the bottom. I guess this means it should be possible to add the new channels as well.
  8. Hi wwwrbswww, I posted a excel doc earlier, I found the same thing, if the name has not changed at all it will work, my excel doc pretty much illustrates this. it makes sense because the titles are correct. so it does not get the title from the img.dat file. problem is, many channels stayed the same, but they are now called "sirius/xm". I read your discussion over in the f series forum. everything points to the img.dat file. hopefully you can get it working on an f series before you burn anymore discs. let me know if I can be of any help.
  9. tnova, take a look at this discussion, it will probably make better sense to you: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic. ... os&start=0
  10. seems to me the best way would be to take a printout of the new program guide and go station by station, a bit of work but should doable. I just downloaded a hex editor and opened up the .dat file. all the names show up, looks like I should be able to just change them. I am burning another disc right now to see if I can see the 4 images the guy in orlando posted, if that works, I will try editing the dat file, if that works. I will edit the dat file using the names on the program guide. update, no luck, here is a list of sites that show up, interesting, the stations tha
  11. well my theory about being able to just rename the files that have changed channels didnt work.
  12. that is what an iso editor will do. again, I am recommending you just wait a little for us to work it out. or read up on the subject a little.
  13. The first post in this thread explains the process needed to make the changes. you will need something that can exctract/create iso images pim editor jpg editior (photoshop) and a burning program capable of burning an iso image to disc, (dual layer dvd) also a hex editor, this is beyond me. There is another thread somewhere in this forum where they discuss changing the icons, however I do not think anyone has attempted to change this many icons at one time. dual layer dvd's are expensive. so I recommend we be patient until the guy who started this thread manages to get it
  14. 27 is now 76 28 is now 75 52 is now 87 78 is now 28 94 is now 85 95 is now 86 96 is now 88 97 is now 89 113 is now 77 110 is now 78 112 is now 79 103 is now 157 128 is now 136 157 is now 160 244 is now 96 245 is now 125 105 is now 124 104 is now 128 246 is now 97 243 is now 95 I think for most of these we can get away with just renaming the files as well as making the appropriate changes in the .Dat file. I counted at least 38 new icons total. there were 14 or 15 I was able to rename so that leaves 20-25 new icons that need to be created. I have most of them in jp
  15. looking at the lineup changes, for the sites that just changed channel number but still have the same program, wouldnt it work to just rename that file? for example. channel 103 is now 157, so would it work to just rename that file? assuming the appropriate change was made in the .dat file. incidently, I will get a mac but it will have to wait a while. I am saving up for the 24 inch iMac
  16. if you googlel avic d3 mustang, you should be able to find this guy on the mustang forums that did a whold write up with photos on his install in an 06 gt. he had a solution for that problem as well.
  17. what program are you suing to edit the iso? I can perhaps make all the icons if that is what takes the most time.
  18. I think I can handle converting the jpg files to the pim, but hex editing is beyond me. In the xmradio section of this forum someone posted a file with everything changed, I guess that would be the best place to start, they really shuffled things up quite a bit.
  19. what we need to do is get one iso of the latest map discs with the new icons and post it on that JLhong guys ftp server if he will allow, within a week we will all have an update. I havent read up on the proceedure for changeing them but if I can be of any assistance let me know. this capped off a crappy couple of weeks for me, now that troll who sold his d3 will probably come back here and start with his posts again.
  20. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... s/CD-V150M I have the 5.5 generation 80gb ipod, I think it was the last before they blocked the video out.
  21. actually there is a cable for 3.5mm av to 3.5mm av, it is one of the accessories offered for the d3 on the pioneer website. I have it ant it works fine.
  22. a trick I have used on an acura integra and now on my latest car is to run the amp power wire through the rubber boot for the hood release line. I run it from the inside out, it is a tight squeeze but you avoid drilling. I use just a little WD40 on the power cable to help it slide through. hopefully you are using an amp kit. also, for the remote turn on, you can still get rca cables that have an extra wire for the amp turn on, that is 1 less wire to run. I would take that wireing harness from the d3 and hook as much as you can together first. Try and bundle as much as possible t
