Well I recieved an offer I could not refuse and sold my Avic, going back to an alpine ixa-305, and will use my tom tom when I need navigation, the 60-100 second wait is just a bit unlivable for me, I thought I could get used to it but it really became a pain, cant adjust the volume until the system finished booting. I know the 3.0 update is on the way but I don't expect much improvement. I wish this forum did other stereos because there is nothing like this for Alpine. my hope is that someday pioneer gets everything working well so I can come back, Best wishes to all and good luck.

mine is for sale as well, I have 3.0 ordered but the more I have thought about it, I dont want to keep living with the quirks. I will just use my tom tom portable gps, and get a single din stereo with good ipod controls, probably that alpine unit designed for ipod. the f700 is a nice piece of hardware but I think they should see if they can find another OS other than microsoft.

I am pretty much waiting to see if 3.0 improves my 700, if not it is going up for sale and I will go back to alpine. It is nice but I cannot live with the shortcomings.

I have had 2.006 several days, honestly, I cannot see any difference. I already had the updated xmradio logos, the only mod I had was the mute button which I restored immediatly. maybe there is a difference in performance, but I have not noticed it. one tip, make sure you go in and reset your HPF if you had it on so you don't accidentally blow your speakers.

got it to work, you have to create a location, you will know you have done this when there is a little pink balloon, when you click on the balloon, you get a popup window with a send button there. the directions are correct but they dont go far enough in explaining. to be honest, it wasnt worth the effort. it's a shame.

installed 2.006 this morning then used testmode v2.3 to add my old data.zip with mods back, everything back to normal.

I am afraid to try it because I don't want to lose my mute button. the xm logos I updated long ago. If the rumours prove true that 3.0 is just a few weeks away, I plan to just wait.

Hi, I am wondering if anyone else is having the same problem. evertime I shut the car off and restart, the ipod does not come back, I have to wait until the f700bt boots up, then disconnect and reconnect my ipod. my ipod is the 5.5 gen ipod. thank you.

aaaaaa the agony of waiting for new stuff. well I am going on a week long road trip, I figure I will either love or hate my f700 by trips end. hopefully love it. and by the time I get back the update will come out.

At $70 bucks I am in, but I am not ready for anymore disappointment with Pioneer, after my D3 and now the F700BT, I am ready to try something different, they are 90% there, but it seems they dont like to finish their products before they sell them. avic411 has helped a lot but really they are selling unfinished products, and now we have to pay for bugfixes, I know the maps are included, but I just need the bug fixes. at 130$ I think I will just save my money and buy something else.

I am pretty much hanging on to my f700 waiting for 3.0, I like it but the long boot time and the buggy bluetooth, and the voice commands that do not work. I am hoping 3.0 can make an improvement otherwise I am going back to alpine, it wasnt as feature rich but what was there, worked.

since we are off topic, I lived in norway and worked for a norwegian bank (so I guess that means I know what I am talking about) and there are just as many greedy jealous people living there as here. your high prices are from your taxes. 24% VAT on EVERYTHING, how else would you pay for that "free" healthcare. 100% tax on cars and the gas tax, well you guys have been paying 5-6 dollars a gallon (3.74liters) for a while now, how much of that is taxed? yes, if you go back and download the Generic version, he put "pioneer" in there. I cant remember which folder it was in but it was there. you almost need to extract them so that you can browse them as thumbnails first. good luck.

got it working, but unfortunatly, the xm doesn't look right to me. I get black boxes around the channel numbers inside the carbon fiber bar. I am going to go back to the original, but I will add the Pioneer bmp to the top menu.

finally got it working. it was the "image" folder inside the archive I was missing. unfortunatly, on the xm, some things did not look right so I switched back, I think I will stick with the stock look for now, but I will add that "pioneer" logo to my top menu. it is a shame they did not do more with Avic Feeds, they could have let you customize the entire thing in the PC and then uploaded to you head unit. oh well, this is still a big leap from my D3. thank you for all the help.

well, I have been trying with this 7zip but no matter what I do I cannot get anything to show up on the f700. with my luck I will spend the next 2 weeks on this, then pionneer will release a firmware update that includes this. oh well.
