XM

yes...for me. How much are you in your car? If you spend more than 30 minutes a day in the car I say yes. The navtraffic may be a different story though, depending on where you live. Are you in a navtraffic market? I will never go back to my like before satallite radio. I personally have XM and Sirius in my car and office.
2. Ahhhh...you are correct sir. East coast customers go to Columbus, West coast go to LBC. I had to reread the "memo". I bow to your infinite wisdom(or ability to read)!!!
3. IIRC you have to program the titles in. The AVIC-Z1/2 has GraceNotes built in, but that is doing you no good. So the short answer is yes, you are supposed to remember the discs and the order you put them in.
4. All Navi repairs have to go to Columbus, Ohio.
5. Crutchfield is also an Authorized Pioneer Dealer. To some people that does not matter, but to me it would. You know if there is a problem they will be there to take care of it, unlike some of these here today/gone tomorrow e-tailers.
6. They are phasing it out more and more every day it seems. I believe it is in February, 2009 that analog is no more. IMO, I can't see Pioneer revisiting that catagory. Their TV Tuners were the best on the market, but were pricey compared to brands such as Farenheit and the like. I know people that are still sitting on a few GEX-P5700TV, but in another 18 months they will be paper weights.
7. Well, you have to decide where you can, and want to put it. In my car I have it in the console for now. Along with my Sirius receiver and Ipod. I am going to relocate it this winter though to the trunk where the factory RCU went for my car. Luckily the GEX-P10XMT is not too big, so you should have a few options. If you really want to find a place I would go to a Honda forum and see where people installed their.
8. Yes, the P-Bus and the Data cable both need to be hooked up...if you are going to subscribe to the actual navtraffic service. If you are not, then there is no need to hook up the data cable just yet, not until you get the traffic service. And yes, you need to hook up the power and ground wires. Does that answer your question?

10. I leave mine is all the time. I have not carried CD's or DVD's with me for a long time. I use my Ipod for everything.

12. Also, make sure you have the RIGHT disc in, and the right zone is selected.

AVIC-N4

I can't believe you guys think the N4 is ugly. I have the AVH-P5900DVD in my car and I love the way it looks. To me it is one of the better looking A/V units Pioneer has made, and I have had them all...literally. I am debating if I want to swap my 5900 for the N4 yet. I am fine using my AVIC-S2 for now so I may wait.
14. $600.00 is way below dealer cost, so take that price from Tweeter with a grain of salt.
15. There is no add-on Nav available, unless you find someone that has one laying around. And at the point I am not certain it will accept a navigation. Pioneer quit making stand alone navs about a year ago...maybe two.
16. Hey Soldier. I am glad you got your mount figured out. I was going to tell you that it is very stiff and you have to put some elbow into it, but now you know. Here is how I mounted mine. I used a Pro Fit cellular mount.
17. I do not believe they are the only ones offering that deal, so check with your local dealer and be sure to ask about the free AVIC-S1 promotion. 18. I don't get these guys that are leaving bad reviews. Not that I think they don't know what they are talking about...but what are they talking about??? When the "bad" review says no route summary what does he mean? And the bad driving directions makes no sense either. I have to laugh at these people because as they leave their reviews, in my eyes and I am sure others as well they don't make sense. I have this thing and I think it works great. Is it the be all end all of portable navigation, no? But are any of the portable navi units, no? The no route summary has me scratching my head
19. dhodory, I see your points. I also see that you live in central Ohio, Columbus I am assuming. I would be more than happy to meet with you and let you demo the AVIC-S1 first hand and see what you think after that. I went to Best Buy yesterday at Polaris and played with the Nuvi 350 a little and while it was nice, it was was not as easy to navigate through the menus as the AVIC-S1. And yes it was quicker once you select your option, but by a split second only. And what's better(or safer), quicker or easier to use? The guy also made a comment about no street names on the AVIC-S1. Not sure wh
20.
Very disappointing review. Takes the S1 off my list. Garmin Nuvi 360, here I come. Oh well. :(
At almost twice the MSRP?? For that you may as well get an indash unit.
