1. I just started having this problem a couple weeks ago. When I go to touch a button on the touch screen, I have to hit it about 1/2 inch to the left of the button. I am not sure this is happening on all screens. I notice it most when I am using the input address screen, but that might just be because the buttons are smaller. I am a Avic-N1 also so maybe they go bad or something?

XM question

For the older AVIC-N1 and maybe N2, I dont know, you won't get a updated IPOD of XM menu, not sure why must have something to do with the hardware. Check out the software link on Pioneer's Site for 60MP Link to CNDV-60MP If you look on the bottom you will see: Note: Does not change the XM Radio or iPod Interfaces.
3. I dont know for sure, and I am have the same problem and would love to get the new IPOD and interface. But looking at Pioneer's site, it looks like even if you buy the newer IPOD adapter for the N1, you will not ge tthe new interface, that is hardware specific to the N3 I guess. Some please correct me if I am wrong.
4. I noticed a bunch of around 150$ AVIC-N1's on sale on Ebay. They are mostly from Hong Kong or China, but cant belive they could ever go that cheap. I bought a nice Sony Camera from Hong Kong once, but it wasnt this cheap! these have to scams right? Almost worth the money to just see if one shows up at my door. But I dont liek the idea of getting ripped off.
5. I am thinking of trying this mod out this weekend. I used to solder circuit boards for a living for about 3 years when I was much younger. But have not had much exercise in soldering in awhile, and also the stuff I was solding was not mini surface mounted stuff like this, so I am nervous. Maybe even more nervous of just taking the thing apart and getting it back together with out messing up the mechanics of the screen gears etc... My screen still works fine after several years of use and I dont want to mess it up, mechanical stuff like that scares me, once you mess it up, its toast. I
6. I would still like to know how he did it. The hack on here involves soldering on the circut board of the N1. Hardly something you can sell on Ebay. The person hasn't responded, so makes me think this is a Ebay seller trying to get people to go to Ebay and buy some BullSh*T. What you think? Why would someone post, I did it! then not tell anyone what he did, other than he bought it on Ebay. WTF?
7. As someone already mentioned burning with a program that just converts MP3's to DVD sudio is not the same thing as a MP3 DVD. a MP3 DVD would let you have tons more albums of music per DVD. My buddies new JVC car stereo does this fine, takes awhile to load the DVD MP3 tags when you insert, but its a ton of MP3's on a DVD. DVD Audio is still just MPEG2 sudip I belive, so you only gain from the fact that the DVD has more space than a normal CD. So you might be able to get 8 CD's on a single sided DVD. (rough math here) But on a MP3 DVD you would also gain from the compressi
8. Toolbag, have you tried just making a ISO and then editing the ISO image with UltrISO or some program like that to try to get the AVIC to seee the disc correctly?
