  1. Do the steering wheel buttons work as intended with this new unit (for XM)? With the older unit, when you hit the next station button on the steering wheel, the F90 would change to the next station, not the next preset station.
  2. Vandal, The AVIC Z and F series run from a hard drive so you do not need to do anything involving CD/DVDs. The AVIC D and N have no hard drive and run from a DVD. I thought the F series ran from flash memory.
  3. 1pacman, Thanks for the presence here. I'm glad to see a manufacturer taking an official interest in their product support. Regarding the delay (at least in my case) the delay with the 90BT is much more pronounced than what was on my D3.
  4. I can not get the presets to work as well. Also, when I programmed one of the steering-wheel buttons to "Mute", I would get intermittent muting with no discernible pattern. It would occur while turning, driving straight, even stopped at a red light. Another annoyance is the lag between pressing a steering wheel button and the actual command being performed bu the HU. 2004 GMC Envoy XL Pioneer AVIC F90BT

    Scratched Screen

I may just bite the bullet and go this route. Thanks for the link and pics. Everyone else: Thanks for all the info. While I knew the touch-screen was delicate, I didn't realize how intricate it is. This forum is great.
  6. I had to pull my F90 out to check some wires that may have come loose. While doing so, I put a scratch in the middle of the screen. It's not deep, but it is noticeable. In talking to a few people for suggestions, the best ideas were to use some very fine wet sandpaper and lightly (and with lots of water) sand across the scratch to remove the ridge of the scratch. The other idea is to use some jeweler's rouge (the kind to polish gold), and again, lightly rub across the scratch. Or will I need to replace the screen?
  7. I guess that I should clarify. The parking brake wire is grounded, hence the unit working as bypassed before. Perhaps I need to check the ground wires with a continuity meter just to make sure and/or hook up the parking brake wire to its own ground source.
  8. The unit is bypassed. The parking brake does not matter. Besides, I have moved the yel/blk wire back to its original position with no change.
  9. I have an F90 (bypassed) and have developed a problem. Under the settings tab, my "Navi Settings" and "System Settings" options are grayed out. I also can not access my phone settings options. This started the last couple of days. The bypass worked fine before. I just spent the last two hours checking and re-checking the connections (especially the ground wires and the yel/blk and lt green wires) and all looks OK. I even moved the yel/blk wire back to its original position with no change. Any help??

  11. Are you using your stock speakers? When I put my D3 in my Envoy, the stock speakers sounded good, but when I upgraded to Infinity speakers, XM sounds great. When I upgraded to the F90, XM sounds equally impressive. As for the compression, my old ears can't really tell the difference.
  12. Well, I just got off of the phone with PAC regarding the problem with the steering wheel buttons not changing the stations. The rep said that Pioneer changed the command/interface thus breaking the functionality of the steering wheel buttons. He further stated that they were working with Pioneer on a fix (he guessed that the fix would be out within 30 days). I then called Pioneer and it was an utter and total waste of time. After being transferred to the Navigation Support unit, and explaining the problem with the steering wheel buttons, I was told to buy a Pioneer CDMR80 marine remote fo
  13. I spent the better part of two hours the other day attempting to program the SWI-PS unit in my 04 GMC EnvoyXL and still can not get it to function properly. The unit functioned when it was controlling my D3, and when I installed my F90, the steering wheel buttons worked except the preset up/down button. I re-programmed the SWI-PS several times and still can not get the preset up/down button to function at all. When I push the button, the LED on the SWI-PS lights but the head unit does not change (XM, FM & AM). Frustrating to say the least along with the iPod Touch 2.01 not working. Bu
