1. Hey there peeps... Ok last night i did the stupidest thing... I know sounds bizzre but it happened. I was uninstalling my AVIC-N1 to put in an AVIC-D3. Well to make the story short I RAN OVER my damm AVIC-N1 face plate (I was so pissed, at my self of course). But I know it was my daughters fault (LOL have to blame someone.. hahaha). But my question is will an AVIC-N2 or AVIC-N3 face plate fit my AVIC-N1??? The face plate for the AVIC-N3 is the cheapest on Pioneers website so I would rather pay $98 buck opposed to $129.. Thanks....
2. Thanks cntrylvr79 Ok so I understand that the VSS is the: 1) white/freen cable on the PCM (Behind Glove box) (2nd easiest to find/get to??) or 2) Connector A (31 pins and its Pin # 18) Connector A meaning the wire harness for the radio that comes from the carsd dash?? Where is pin 18 how do you count the pins?? From left to right, from top to botton, facing the pins, facing the cables?? (this should be the easiest to find/get to.. Right??) or 3) blue/white on the Cruise Control Module (What does that look like??) to the left of the Steering column (Left side when faci
3. GnatGoSplat thanks.. Well any info that you get is good enough for me!!Would it be cheaper for me to replace the entire DVD/CD drive in the HU unit insteasd of paying pioneer $200 do do it?? Also, where can I get the part if possible at all?? Well, post any info on recalibrating and if anyone else know where I can get parts for the Avic-N1 so I can start working on it. It S*cks not being able to listen to CD's but I think paying $200 to get a cd/dvd drive replace is a bit steep.. What do you guys thinkg???
4. Thanks guys... I thought that is how it worked but it was one of those days (Brain fart day). Geez you would figure I would figure that out after instaling the AVIC-N1 and doing the MOD. Now the AVIC-D3 (Much easier). Thanks all for the help!!!!
5. Ok the Dark Green and the Dark Green with a black line is your Left Rear Speaker. The Light Green is the brake cable. the one you will need to Ground. Ground it to metal part of car and if there is paint scratch it off to get a better ground. Also I would recomend if you cut the wire you put black electrical tape on the other side (Side not grounded but cut) so it will not touch anything else and possibly cause problems.
6. Well it should fix out all your problem but like said.. Not the burned out LED. My comes on and off.. Seems like its not making good contact because when I sligtly push the face plate it lites up. I guess its one of those wear and tear things from removing and putting the face plate over and over. but I will tell you I don't think an LED is worth the $200 bucks. Just my opinion.. But send it out... you never know all your stuff might get fixed if not then the $200 will fix everything along with your LED. Make sure you are specific with each thing that is not working when sending it out
7. Well to begin you will need the Wire harness that connects to the AVIC (Comes in the box with the AVIC). Then you will need a Wire harness for your specific car model and year (You will need to order or get from a local installer) and you might need the faceplate for you car (Installation Kit).
8. Anyone know where the VSS wire is for an 02 Honda Civic EX... I found the DX on the website listed above but none for the EX. I read around that the DX wireing is different than all the other Civic models. Also is there a VSS wire on the Cars Dash wire harness?? Thanks!!!
9. No you don't need to replace the speakers. The bose System on the Altimas already have an amp and its not a regular type of Amp. Don't really remember what makes it different. If I recall right the stereo is already amped and so is you speaker system or something like that but the solution was to use the Integration adapter from Scoshe. If the installer knew what they were doing they would be able to get around it. The simple way is to purchase the Nissan/Infinity factory interation adapter from Scoshe allowing you to control the output gain of 4 channels. Check this out... h**p://ww
10. Ok I have an AVIC-N1 with original software v1.2. Today all of a sudden it stop reading Music CD's (Original or backups) but it continues to read Original or Backup DVD's including the NAV DVD. I tried resetting the Head unit and the brain unit but still the same problem. I even went as far as to reset the FIRMWARE by doing the secret menu force write, etc.. When I insert a CD and it says "Reading Format" and stays there for a while. After a good minute or two it shows a message Non-Playable disk. But yet I can put a DVD in the drive and it reads it with no problem. Anyone else exp
11. Ok I am confused. I was installing the AVIC-D3 and I notice there is a ground (black cable) comming from the AVIC-D3 wire harness. My question is: The aftermarket wire harness for my car indicates there is a ground on it. Can't I simply connect the Avic-D3's ground cable to the aftermarkets ground on the harness? Once I connect the aftermarket harness to the cars harness (Dash). Wouldn't that technically ground the AVIC or do I have to Ground the AVIC to the car somewhere?? Seems logical but I am confused with Pioneer adding that little hook thing at the end of the GROUND cable com
12. Thank Sportsfan for this.. http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... r&start=15
13. Hey there guys and gals... Well have had an Avic-N1 for a while and had been putting off upgrading the software because of the solder hack needed to be done to the head unit once the 60MT upgrade was installed. Well, I guess im converting.. hahaha and going to do the upgrade. Now the whole issue about shelling out $250 for the 60MT upgrade disk or even finding a legitimate 60MT disk on ebay is scarry (Seen to many stories about getting scammed or bricking the unit) But if anyone can sell me the 60MT.. So for the real question.. I have a buddy that is going to buy the D3 this weekend
14. Ok.. I am blind.. hahaha.. I did't realiez there are 6 pages to the post and got the hell confused with that picture on the first page when you click on the link listed above. Just a suggestion... Moderator maybe its a good idea to remove the picture on the first page that has the red then below it says you will ry your unit if you solder those two points... That is what threw me off.. hehe
