Sounds like it's doing what it supposed to. Keep reading the instructions. After you press download phonebook on the D3, it disconnects, then you have to go to your phone and send your contacts via bluetooth, the D3 will accept them. Some phones let you send the entire phonebook at once, some phones you have to do one at a time.

Im sure your info is correct, I found it in the radio harness so I didnt need to go fishing for the pcm. Some say the VSS wire is no longer in the radio harness in the 08 F150, I just wanted to let people know I found it in two 08's so make sure and look before digging for the pcm.

OK, Update after two D3 installs on 08 F150. The antenna adapter mentioned above is correct. The VSS wire info is not. Both my FX4 Supercrew with Audiophile, and my brothers STX Supercab with regular CD player had the VSS wire in the radio harness. The wire is Gray with Black stripe. Hope this helps someone in the future.

I never found it. It could have something to do with the search on this site sucking hard. I will be doing the install in the next couple of days and will post my findings.

The AVIC-D3 comes with just the D3 HU. AVIC-D3X comes with the D3 HU, bluetooth adapter, remote, and ipod cable. AVIC-D3Y comes with the D3 HU and the bluetooth adapter. 3 different packages, 3 different prices. Not sure which ones BB sells, but they are overpriced. I just got the D3Y package from abt.com for $595, but I just looked it up to link here and it is missing. Seems the D3 inventory is really drying up with the F-series coming out soon.

the d3y does not come with the ipod cable You were correct, the D3Y comes with the D3 and the Bluetooth adapter. I read somewhere on here that it came with th Ipod cable too, no problem though. I got the ipod cable on ebay for less than $15 shipped. So $610 for the D3, bluetooth, and Ipod is as good a deal as you will find these days.

Thanks for the info guys, antenna adapter is on the way. So I guess its true, there is no VSS wire in the radio harness or in the cab somewhere? That stinks.

Im about to install a D3 in my 08 F150 FX4 SuperCrew. I am looking for the VSS wire location. I have assumed it was in the radio harness, but have read that they took it out in the 08 model. If it is not in the radio harness like the older models, where is it? Also, will I need an adapter for the radio antenna? Thanks for any info.

Stay away from PhotoDynasty and BestPriceCamera as stated. They are the same company, I called both before placing an order. The cheap price is a ploy to get you to order, but if you call they will tell you they are on backorder, one guy even told me they will never sell Pioneer again. They try to sell you other stuff though. Calling each place gets you to the same exact phone center. I found the best price to be at Abt.com. I got the AVIC-D3Y package for $795 - 200rebate = $595. Great price for the D3, bluetooth, and ipod adapter which is what comes in the D3Y package. You wouldnt
