  1. I would swap the phone if it resets on you while calling.
  2. My understand is that the Android OS does not support BT voice dialing, period. So, no fixes for that until Google decides it's time.
  3. I have not had any issues with the phone not autoconnecting. I have had two BT-related issues. One is BT audio sometimes stutters. This is a known issue among users, but there's no response from Motorola on it. This only seems to affect BT music. The other is that when I place or receive calls, a few times, there's no BT audio coming from the DX3, even though the pairing is alive. My first Droid had this happen about 1/3 of the time. It's happened one so far since I swapped it out 2 weeks ago. It's not unreasonable that there were more than a few bad models in earlier batches. I
  4. That's all. Pairing worked great. If you haven't bought a Droid, and were concerned about it, it's a non issue. I even piped the Google Map nav audio over BT.
  5. You don't need Jetware. Google i760 bluetooth Avic. One of the first few links should be to a pda forum. There's a very small free utility you can download that'll enable the i760 with the d3.
  6. I had my install done by Sound Solutions in Chantilly. They were very pro. The price was reasonable too. The owners know a lot about the unit, and they took the time to make sure I was in the loop on everything. I had a few glitches after the install, which they took care of for me immediately. Another bonus is they are an authorized Pioneer reseller, so warranty, etc. is all taken care of. You won't go wrong with these guys.
  7. I seriously considered switching to a Kenwood once I found out they use Garmin. But when I heard about the F-series coming out this summer, I decided to hold off. The Kenwood's features are nice, but they're not a dramatic improvement over the D-3's. And there are of course the cons as well. If the F-series has much stronger navigation capabilities, I'm going for that. Otherwise I think I'll wait for Kenwood's next generation. With Pioneer, Alpine all releasing next gen nav systems, I don't think there's any reason to buy a system which may be phased out within 6 months, especiall
  8. "Sure baby, you're good enough for my leftovers."
  9. It'll also use MSN for traffic updates, and my guess is it'll be more accurate than XM traffic.
  10. I'd like to get one too, but I'll wait and let some of you guys be the guinea pigs first. I also just bought a D3, so I'm not in a rush. I'll probably take the plunge around October. I figure by then a lot of the first gen bugs will have been taken care of as well. I do hope the final retail price will be under $1,000.
  11. You're welcome, and I'm glad it worked for you. I was pretty frustrated too, because I love the i760 and I didn't want to return it. The only bug I found with it so far is when I paired my phone with another handsfree device (Garmin Nuvi), the phone defaulted to the Nuvi from that point. I just had to click on the Pioneer and check "handsfree" again. I didn't try voice dialing. I think there's a thread here that says it either doesn't work or doesn't work well. Dunno. I'll try it sometime to confirm.
  12. I have a similar problem as you. I used an N1 prior to this, and it was much more accurate. I'm going to take mine back into the shop and have them attach the VSS wire, and see if there's anything they can do to tweak the antenna's location. I'll suggest they put it closer to some metal pieces. But if that doesn't work, my guess is either the unit is defective or the antenna is defective. I don't think there's much else that can be done.
  13. I hope so because it's lame that a $999 GPS unit can't handle something as simple as that ... I wouldn't hold my breath. I used to have a Garmin Streetpilot III, and that was much more functional than my N1 or D3. These devices are not meant for extreme functionality, in my opinion. I'm confident the update will only add a few more POI's and one or two cosmetic UI changes. I like my D3, but part of me wishes I shelled out the bucks for a Kenwood system. But for the price I paid, I'm still happy.
  14. Thanks to this thread I found out my VSS isn't connected either. Is there a reason an installer wouldn't do so? Does the VSS have any impact on the bypass?
  15. Yeah the manual's wrong. Once you start the process, you won't see a "start" button. Just have your phone beam the contacts and it'll work.
