  1. I believe you need to get the separate video output cable for the Touch and use it to connect to the video inputs on the back or front of the D3. It will not play video via the 'Video' button on the iPod screen.
  2. The D3 is XM and Sirius ready, but it depends on what you mean. You mean you have the Sirius tuner? An Inno will not work the same way a 'direct connect' XM or Sirius will work. You can't control it through the headunit. You don't have to use the Inno FM transmitter, you can run a cable to the AV-1 Audio inputs on the back or AV-2 on the front.
  3. The BT200 is the only module I know of that's compatible with the D3, so yes, that's what we go with. Otherwise you would be looking at completely separate systems that wouldn't integrate with the D3 the same way. As far as 'compatible', it'll probably act as a headset, so you'll be able to talk through it. I don't know if you'll be able to transfer the phonebook or not.
  4. Got mine from BB and sent in the rebate stuff. Got a form letter back saying it wasn't from an authorized dealer. So basically if you buy it from any 'big' guys, (CC, BB, Crutchfield), you're SOL.
  5. You do not want to connect the camera to a CONSTANT power source. You want ACC, a switched power source. Otherwise your camera would be 'on' while the car is technically off, potentially draining your battery. The reverse wire is connected to the D3, NOT the camera. The D3 only uses the reverse wire to tell when you're in reverse. You have the camera on switched power so it turns on and off with the car, and is available for both reverse and camera view. Simple.
  6. Uh..no idea why you would need to do that. Wire the camera power to a switched power instead of directly to the reverse lights. You can run the power all the way to the front and splice it in with the Red ACC line going to the radio. If the camera is powered on while the car is on, you can use it as Rear View and Backup Camera all you want.. No need to do relays or anything.
  7. Composite video isn't really 'bound' by a resolution. NTSC is technically 720x480, so the video card should downscale to it. Does the video out on the laptop work on other screens? Like, regular TVs?
  8. What sleeve and brackets? You mean the thing for the front to cover any 'gap' around the screen? Sure, I guess. Knowing what car you want to put in it would help with a definitive answer.
  9. Hacks board, pick any topic about 'bypass'.
  10. Looks like they never plugged it in.
  11. Maybe the IP BUS cable is in the wrong port on the BT module?
  12. Okay, got me completely confused then. Unless it's just a cingular thing, but that doesn't make sense.. I may re-transfer some stuff to see what I did..
  13. Can someone please go to this link:http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8242458&st=avic-d3&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1169512508513 Hit the 'add to cart' button and tell me what the price says? For me it says $699. In store, the tag said $699 new.
  14. It was new. I don't know about Canada but it was on sale here in GA and also on the US BestBuy website. I don't know how long it will last, usually the sales reset on Sundays, so you have until closing Saturday at this point for the price to be 'guaranteed'. As far as I know the Pioneer rebate will apply to BestBuy, it says any authorized Pioneer and Premier dealer, so I assume it should work there. I sent it in today, so we'll see. The iPod adapter for the D3, when I got it at BestBuy, was $30.99. It does let you control the iPod and watch videos as well (with certain units. I still c
  15. Oh... cool. never mind then. I was bummed cause I thought I missed it, then a co-worker pointed out it was still going on.
  16. I was just in Best Buy yesterday, paid $699. It had a sticker on it that said "Bluetooh module in box!", and it was. Maybe I just got lucky. And someday someone has to explain wireless remotes in cars to me.
  17. How did you connect the phone to the unit originally? Did you have the unit look for the phone, or the phone look for the D3?
  18. Bestbuy has it on sale for $699 with the Bluetooth module in the box. The $200 rebate is extended through 4/31.
  19. Hm, not sure. I did it around 4am so I might have remembered it wrong. Can you just do 'Transfer Phone Book' at that point instead of reconnecting first?
  20. Back when I had my factory NAV, I just got used to tapping 'OK' when the car started. If you do it often enough you'll start doing it automatically without thinking about it.
  21. Yes! It's a bit tricky, and I did it with my T-Mobile 8800, but since you have Cingular it should be pretty much the same. Here's what I had to do: 1. Connect the phone to the D3 2. Register the phone (Mine is in Slot 1, doubt it matters) 3. Go into the Bluetooth settings on the phone, and make sure the D3 shows up in the list. 4. Hit 'Phonebook transfer' on the D3 5. On the 8800, select the D3 in the Bluetooth list and hit 'Connect' (You need to hit the menu button, then connect) 6. After its connected, on the 8800, go into the mini-menu for the D3 again, and select 'Transfer Add
