Just curious, but why would you want to? The 'learning' is what the unit does to sync up the input from your speed wire and its internal sensors to give greater accuracy along with the GPS signals.

Does the HD radio receiver respond to commands? Does the D3 recognize it? On the screen, does it appear to be receiving any stations? Can you 'use it' but just not hear it? If so make sure you have the IP-Bus cable in the correct connector on the HD Radio unit, or try switching connectors and see if you can hear it.

The whine could come from a number of places.. Bad ground in the harness, bad ground on your amp, an accessory connected to the system that also..has a bad ground. Typically what I do is ground all of the amps to one spot, and ground everything else in the system to the same ground wire the radio uses. (Other things being: XM Radio, Bluetooth adapter)

Do you really want me to quote your own post? In the last line you said "im just double checking so i dont fry my RCAs like last time." Since the ground on the RCA should really only be carrying ground for the Audio signal, I don't see a pertinent reason to ground the shield of the RCAs to the chassis of the unit. If you feel like doing what you asked, by all means, go ahead.

If you fried your RCA cables you've got some serious problems going on. I've never had a separate ground from the RCAs to the headunit.

Does the AVIC stay on? It sounds like somehow the amp turnon isn't hooked up correctly.

Yes but I doubt your windshield is 100% covered in tint, too. As for the OP, you should be fine with the non-metallic tint.

I had that happen to me prior to doing the 'mute wire' bypass. Once I did that part of the bypass I never saw it again. Others could chime in with their experiences tho..

In order: If you want to do the bypass and don't care about OnStar automatically muting the stereo, then don't bother connecting to the yellow/black and do the bypass normally. Otherwise use another wire for the bypass from that harness. If you're doing the bypass, hook the brake wire up to the radio GROUND, not the GMOS Yes, you should be able to use the VSS and Reverse wires from the GMOS. Just make sure that they are what you think they are, don't just go by 'they match the color of the Pioneer harness'. Check the documentation to make sure they are what they look like.

Yes, it needs a 'constant' source of power as it has no internal battery to keep a 'memory'.

I thought the lowest station in the US FM band was 87.9..I don't know how many receivers, if any, i've seen go lower than that.. In fact, from some of the other Pioneer manuals I could find, the lowest the Pioneer FM tuners will go is 87.9. Edit: Even better, there is no license on record with the FCC to transmit at 87.7FM in New York. Despite their web site, looks like a pirate station of some sort..

Some cars just don't work well with factory antennas and aftermarket radios. It could have to do with the antenna specifically tuned to the radio (somehow) or some other voodoo. You may want to try a third party antenna, either one that goes in the dash, on the back window, or replaces your stock antenna, but other than connecting the wiring correctly, there's really nothing you can do to improve that situation with the stock antenna.

Might want to include what phone model / brand / service provider..

Usually there are fuses in the cabin too. Check those?

The camera doesn't 'have' to be connected to that wire. But a line from the reverse lights that has 12v when reverse is applied does. The camera could be powered off the ACC wire so you could also use the 'rear camera view' while driving. But no, the violet/white does not provide voltage, it senses 12v.

Well you should be getting ground from the existing radio harness. Though i'm curious, where did you get your ACC power from? The 2003 Trailblazer might be one of those vehicles with Databus instead of a traditional ACC wire in the harness.

The D3 has no provisions for an external HD. So, no, I would think it can't be done.

Okay... So you have the Sirius connect module installed. Yes, there is a separate module installed somewhere behind the D3 to receive Sirius. You could remove the Sirius connect box and put in the GEX box, but they most likely won't have the same antenna connector. Despite the thought that "It's satellite, it will work", there are slight differences in the Sirius and XM signals and antennas. I wouldn't want to take the chance in using the wrong antenna and having it fail completely. If you don't want to go on the roof, you may be able to get a 'mast mount' XM antenna that will
