  1. I'll have to keep that in mind...
  2. Audi has the best looking interior of any car IMO
  3. how'd you get it back after it was stolen?
  4. No haven't tried that but I will tomorrow, thanks. Not sure what version of ipod, though I think it's the first one that played videos. EDIT: It worked. Thanks again HiFi
  5. I'm unable to get the videos on my ipod to play on my D3. I can hear the audio portion but can't see anything. Anyone know what I have to do?
  6. ok. took your advice and re-routed it. might as well do it legit and not have any problems...
  7. Ok, finally got around to installing my D3 along with some components and an amp. Had also planned to wire up the bluetooth and xm modules but the location I had planned for them wasn't to my liking after I saw the amount of cable I'd have to hide. So I've settled on another location, however I've already run the XM antenna to the original planned location and it won't reach the new spot. I really don't want to tear my interior apart again to re-rout the antenna wire. My question is this, is the wire for the antenna extendable? Is it just a simple copper wire that I can solder to an extension
  8. I had a similar problem with the song list. I couldn't deal with scrolling through eight thousand songs so what I did was make playlists that alphabetize the songs. So if I want to hear "Love is the Drug" for example, I could find it easily in playlist "L" You could probably do something similar for artists. I just got around to installing my D3 this weekend and haven't tried the menu button thing yet.
  9. haha... me and Mr. D go waaaaaaaaaay back
  10. awesome, thanks. it's a VW GTI Mk IV by the way. if you just throw it in the dash it sticks out a little and looks less than stock since everything in that part of the dash is very flush and flat. I modified the stock trim cage slightly to allow a flush install but there just isn't a ton of room back there for large bundles of wires which I have no use for.
  11. ok that's a good idea. I'd like to do it the way I described because I want to have enough room to mount the unit flush and all those wires may prevent that. I want to be sure however that I wont be confusing the head unit by having missing pins in the connector. I don't think it should be a problem but I want to avoid any problems
  12. Just got my D3, waiting for a few more things in the mail before I start the install. I've noticed that there are quite a few wires and connections that I won't be using. I was thinking of simply removing the pins of the unused parts from the connector so I don't have a whole bunch of spaghetti behind the dash. For example, rear monitor output, video input, audio input, subwoofer output. I'll be running a 4 channel amp with components all around so all I should need is the front and rear outputs and I may add the backup camera at some point so I'll keep that. Also keeping the mute wire to do
