Circuit City and Best Buy were the same price when I bought it ($699). A couple weeks later CC dropped it $100. the d3 is a simple 2 wire bypass, deffinitly worth the 5 minutes installing it

why would you want to,its illegal its also a great way to stay awake if your on a long drive. speeding is illegal too but every1 does that too, and how many people really wear their seatbelts? or drive while talkin on ur cell phone? just be responsible with it and you'll be fine

idk how it is by you but with the audio stuff walmarts over here carry, id be shocked if they carried any custom piece like that....their most prized item is like a jensen lcd flip-up. im not rly sure of the yr for the exp but when i opened it up the guy used thin l-shaped copper tabs, and mounted it with them. idk im sure you have a good point wit the mods needed jus it was a very messy job. and i meant the connector 2 on the avic.

very true on good and bad installers. some1 i know had a D3 installed in an expedition, & the guy completely half-assed it. he didnt use the right mounting brackets, he chopped up the inside of the dash, and he didnt even install one of the connectors!! but dont places like CC and best buy only use what the stores carry in stock?

you'd hafta buy the dash kit and bring it to them to even have a chance at them installing it. i had somethin liek that happen to me, i didnt feel like installing the avic so i called an audio store and for 10 minutes i was arguing wit the guy cuz he didnt believe that there was a dash kit for the 8.

ya, kinda gotta agree. a kickin stereo system is one thing, but a kickin system, a z, a d3, and multiple dvd players, plus screens?? to each is his own, but thats jus too much attention for your own good man

i have the z1 in my car right now, and my sisters bf has the voyager too...we tried pairing them and they wouldnt, but there are people on here claiming theyve done it. granted u have a d3, not a z1, but you never know!

itd cost you roughly $20-$30 less to buy an unlocked z3 drive on ebay. and it comes with all the 08 maps

what exactly are you having trouble with?? installing it from start to finish, or simply bypassing it? either way save your money! --if your looking to install it, you can buy a wiring harness for ur chevy. circuit city, best buy, places like that (or online) sell them vehicle specific, and on the wrapper it tells you wat each color wire is...simply match them up with the wires from the unit (the installation manual from the d3 tells you as well). it costs you AT MOST $20, and its very simple. plus ud be spending more if you paid some1 else to do it lol --if your looking to just bypass

not to mention if hes grounding it out, not just relocating it, then he probably didnt alter the mute wire either, so yes youll probably hafta take it apart again

i gotcha man, see im the complete opposite. aside from hacking programs and downloading music im comuter illiterate. but i can rewire an entire car blindfolded...and ive actually done the 2 wire bypass, a friend of myne has the D3, which is the same bypassing method. took me all of 20 minutes start to finish to install and bypass his unit
