  1. Thank you, but the issue with mine was the iPod itself. My GF's Gen 5 works fine on it. Apparently when Apple Referb'd my iPod (prior to me buying it) they did something to make it require the Apple chip the newer gen's do... I no longer have an iPod and my GT that has the D3 is not my DD anymore, so it's no big deal... When ever I want to use it, I just borrow my other half's iPod and it works fine.
  2. Check the screen on the iPod right after you hook it up. I believe when Apple referb's them, they put in the security feature that only allows 'apple' products to connect to the iPod. So your D3's cable doesn't have the chip, or whatever, that allows it to connect. *I'm guessing this is why mine wouldn't work.*
  3. Update: got the seller to let me return & refund my money! Now, the new question... how do I know which iPod will work with my D3? Is there a serial number set I should be looking for? ..a firmware version? ..any help? Thanks, ~j
  4. I ended up resetting the unit and dissconnecting the battery for 10-15 minutes. It worked, but still not sure what caused it... it hasn't happened again, but she's had very limited use sense I don't drive the Stang as my DD anymore.
  5. That's what I'm thinking... I was going to trade, but now the damn thing won't even hold a charge for more then 24hrs now. Looks like I was scammed as the seller told me to take it up with the shipper. ..atleast I didn't pay that much for it.
  6. New Update: Damn POS still will not work.. but I noticed that when I plugged it into the cable prior to turning the car on.. the iPod display says something to the effect of "Apple iPod is not compatable with this device" then it flashes "safe to unplug" or something like that ....wth does that mean?
  7. Similar to the problem I'm having... iPod Classic Gen 5, maybe 5.5.. D3's iPod screen pops up, but nothing... the iPod only thinks it's a charger.
  8. I don't understand it... this is the only reason I bought the damn thing. I've reset the iPod mutiple times, tried different settings on it, tried 3 different software versions, reset the AVIC-D3, and retried my gf's Gen 5.. hers works everytime, but mine still will not. The D3 pops right to the iPod screen, but my iPod acts as if it's only plugged into a charger...
  9. It's suppose to be a 5th Gen... Model# MA146LL
  10. I've read that I need to be on software version 1.1 and it's on 1.3.. How do I go about downgrading the iPod? I have iTunes 7. Thanks, ~j
  11. I have a D3 in my 08 Mustang GT and my gf's Gen 5 works with no issues at all. Full controll from the D3.. she bought a new Accord not too long ago and just discovered the audio jack. ..now I can't steal her iPod anymore. So I bought a referb Gen 5 - 30g It's basically the same thing as my gf's, but black.. mine will not work at all with the D3. You plug it in, and the iPod screen on the D3 pops up.. but nothing happens. None of the buttons work and the fields do not show anything. Any ideas? Thanks, ~j
  12. As the title says. I installed the latest update disks yesterday and everything went fine. It looks up POI's, calcs routes fine, the radio controls are working fine, and system controls are all fine. Today I'm heading home on my lunch and pop out the East Nav disk and pop in a CD... the CD starts playing but all that is displaying on the screen is the backdrop, clock, and the track / time info along the bottom. It looks like I hit the 'Hide" button. When I touch the screen nothing happens. I can search the tracks and go into the other menus using the buttons on the side. When I goto a
  13. Here's a link that helped me when I installed the D3 in my 08 GT. http://forums.stangnet.com/731487-avic- ... tures.html
  14. I do not have the VSS hooked up and have no issues with the arrow, nor the Pioneer gauges working. As was said, try resetting.
