1. I made a trip to upstate ny(1 and a half hour drive). Google maps quoted me 1 hour with 48 minutes(96.7 mi). Avic-d3 quoted me 1 hour and 46 minutes(96 mi). They both used the same streets, roads and highways. Start: Queens, NYC Finish: New Paltz, NY
2. that's because you have to set a voice tag for each
3. LOL let me get this straight, you bought an item for 100 over what other stores were offering yet you want that store to give you cash back because of your naiveness? Only in America...
4. iphone version or wap version? wap version should be better
5. just restore your ipod to your "factory settings"
6. I will be heading to boston for the yankees redsox game friday night. We'll see if we have the same problem. My last units were the dnx8120 and a portable navi unit(magellan). Always dead on
7. Weird cause i have no problems with mine. Granted I live in NYC and it quotes me 25 miles to get to my dentist but google and yahoo maps quote me 26-27. So, I don't know what's the deal? About Pioneer not wanting the driver to turn left, that's bs The d3 has saved me from many chances to get lost in the bad zone of the bronx here. What type of DVD region are you using and which country?
8. looks like WM6 is blocking some access to it. Same happened to me. Try to register the phone
9. lol you can't resize it or you can't do it overall?
10. then you have antenna problems due to a bad install. I know if you put it under the dash, you would be WAY off. Installation problems are your fault, not Pioneers. And spending hundreds on gas for 50 sec bootup time? guess people never let the engine idle until it's fully warmed to put it in drive and drive away. Also, one more thing i found out about the f-series which is pretty good in my opinion(not great though). People whine over the F series yet praise the DNX when they don't know they DNX got recalled for a software update too(3 wk process) after 1 month of Kenwood not acknoledging th
11.
Would it be possible to get a ford emblem centered on a black background with "Navigation Loading" underneath and then in a corner put "Powered by (Pioneer Logo)" TIA 8)
Oh come on. It is really easy to do using photoshop
12. it's the shiny knob that's all the way on the left of the unit, under the map button
13. check out 8thcivic.com and check for the diy audio section. it teaches you how to take the dash apart step by step
14. paperweight? Last I saw the f-unit, the navigation, FM/AM radio, ipod, bluetooth, touchscreen work. It may need some work but calling them paperweight is not appropiate. I do think Pioneer should issue a firmware update or hardware update(extra ram) to solve the bootup time. It isn't expensive to change the ram since you can take the existing ones and use them as parts for repairs on the other units they have which do not belong to the f-series. But tweaking the unit seems pretty easy
15. Knowing Apple the way I do with the countless problems with the sad face on their ipod videos I purchased straight from their website, nothing will get resolved. Apple pretty much tweaks the firmwares so it will be unhackable. That's the main purpose. And when they release a new hot item for those apple fanboys, the firmwares get updated to the latest specs of the new items to sync with the latest itunes. As a result, you will get poor coding from apple which makes everything go crazy(hence the MANY sad face ipods that got returned after one of their updates)
16. That plug is for the steering wheel controls and amp wire to activate the speakers. 06+ DX,LX Civic coupes do not have the amp wire on that plug. 06+ DX,LX, EX Civic Sedans do not have the amp wire on that plug either. So, if you have either of those models, you hook the speakers to the white plug on the d3 and not to the rca connectors. If you have an 06+ EX, Si Coupe model or 07+ Si Sedan, then you will have an amp wire that will activate your speakers(#15 on the diagram i posted above). Anyways, If you want to keep control of your stereo steering wheel controls(this is mainly fo
17. For the pac-swi-ps, you use the smaller 20-pin harness. Buy some t-taps or solder the wires. White wire goes to a pink wire. Black wire goes to a brown wire. Pretty much, you use #4 and #5 #4 to White on the PAC-SWI-PS #5 to Black on the PAC-SWI-PS
18.
Can anyone make a VW Touareg background?
Background or splash screen?
19. I'll burn you one for free. Just pay shipping. Which do you need? east or west?
20. That's because WM6 is evil lol I hate it so much and it kills the processor on its smartphones(pocket pc). Bluetooth compatibility is non-existant for SOME WM6 but others are able to support it because of third party applications by your carrier or online software
21. go to jetwaremobile.com nn download their software
22. Kenwood said the serial I had, had the latest firmware(which i doubt) and after sending the unit back, they said the unit was fine. Ehhh dealing with BS is not my cup of tea. But to each his own. Kenwood has some good units. Pioneer has some good units, JVC has some good units. Some chinese no-name units are also pretty good. That's why there's a price difference, it's called competition.
23. yeah no problem but jetware only has a 30day trial so don't get too happy yet(you gotta buy it, sadly). Anyhow, the pc6800(htc mogul?) is not fully compatible with the btb200. I don't know how the features are. But, you can do the following: - Once you registered your phone, it will be connected automatically. Make sure you have a voice tag for each contact. If none of your contacts have a voice tag(they can be their full name (first and last) or just their first name) - Hit the voice button on the screen of the d3 unit, and say "Call John Doe" and the avic will automatically call contact J
