  1. Well ui_RouteInfoBackground is just for the blue box background. I was able to successfully remove those when a route was not present, now I just have to find a way to remove the text and ruler.
  2. I fixed it, I just used different night bmp's.
  3. Soooo, i just realized that my night map page doesn't work. When I press map and press OK, the unit restarts. Once it is restarted, it hangs on the splash screen. I double checked my night files, and they look fine.
  4. Bump. I am also interested in this mod. I searched the navgiatemap_800_480.ui file but I'm not sure where to even begin.
  5. Perfect! It looks so much cleaner now without the ugly/boring clock in the corner. Thanks!
  6. Ok, so now that I have that mod out of the way, there are a couple of things that I would like to do to clean up my map screen and I would really appreciate any help from you guys! I would like to remove the clock from the map screen completely. I have a digital clock not even four inches above my head unit, so the clock is not necessary. I have found the thread on how to modify the clocks font and color, but I didn't find anything on how to remove the clock entirely. I would also like to remove the displayed info box from the bottom left hand corner of the map as well as the ruler whe
  7. Awesome, I re-compressed the files and it all works beautifully. I love this mod. Thanks for your help guys!
  8. eurotuner29: I followed your instructions perfectly and I have run into a small problem. After I loaded the new DATA.ZIP, SYS.TXT, and all of the scheme files (the four color.ini and four color3d.ini), I booted my unit up. After my splash screen goes away, a small WinCE window pops up and says something about application data or application memory or something, I can't read it because it goes away really quickly and then the main menu comes up. Once the menu loads up, the "System Starting" message just hangs on the screen and doesn't go away. I am able to push buttons and all, but it s
  9. eurotuner29: This may be a newbie question, but where exactly can I find the color.ini files that need to be modified? Also, how many of those files are there? Thanks!
  10. I was finally able to update to 3.0101 today. I re-installed the WinCE update which then formatted my flash drive. I then went onto the flash drive and deleted any files which remained after the format. These files, however, will re-appear after restart. They are WinCE system files/folders which just keep getting replaced if they are deleted. I then unzipped the X910 flash dump and re-copied all the files. I then downloaded, unzipped, and ran the 3.0101 update, just as it says on the Pioneer website. It worked this time! The difference between this time and the last couple of times
  11. Make sure you change AV1 input to iPod in the AV settings menu. After the update it defaults to Off. I have full iPod functionality.
  12. I also chose the Format option next to Update via SD. My 3.003 upgrade was textbook and went very smoothly. When trying the 3.0101 update on Pioneers site using their instructions, it just wont work right. When you choose the Update via SD/MMC (Format) option, that formats the entire flash memory so that nothing is in the My Flash Disk folder upon restart, except for a couple of WinCE system files.
  13. Yeah, I tried updating to 3.0101 also (using Pioneers update/instructions) and when the unit boots the "System Starting" message just stays on the screen even tho I can access my music and whatnot. Also, the button/dial backlight just fades in and out really fast. I just reverted back to 3.003 and everything works fine. Retell - When do you think you'll get a chance to update the OP with the 3.0101 instructions? Also, I had no intention of updating my unit tot he 3.0 software until Pioneer released the software because there were so many different threads and methods of updating the so
  14. Eagerly awaiting 3.0101 update tutorial!!!
  15. Nevermind, figured out the problem. You have to hold all four buttons, then release the reset button first, then release the eject button, then you get the blue screen (without a time limitation). I also got no pop from the speakers, I just guessed on timing.
  16. HELP!!! When I get into the service menu, my screen will go black after 20 or so seconds. Even once I get to Update via SD (Format) and I click it, it will start reading the files and then the unit will just go black. This happens every time, even if I go into the service menu but don't click anything. When I reboot the unit (without trying to get into the service menu), the screen just stays black, nothing comes up. I have 2.006 installed on my F900. Once I reboot the unit I can successfully get back into the service menu, but then it goes to black screen.
  17. The only thing I have to compare the F900BT to is the Lexus factory navigation system. If I were to rate the two comparatively, I would give the F900BT a 3 out of 10 and the Lexus system a 10 out of 10. It's a world of difference. I just don't understand why, after many many years of research and development, Pioneer can't develop a system which can compete with the factory navigation systems.
  18. Well I called Pioneer and they told me to send it in to be checked out. Before removing the unit from my car I decided to upgrade to the 2.006 software. I now get mostly green bars (well, yellow/green) on the satellite signal page. Although the bars are green, they do not fill up the little progress bars for each satellite (only about 70%). Will the little progress bars fill to 100% to indicate the best possible signal? Does anybody actually have any of their progress bars 100% full?
  19. I did plug in the second antenna and I got the same exact problem. That's when I got the idea for the dual GPS antenna setup, which probably won't work because the antennas are probably amplified (or maybe not, which could explain my problem?).
  20. What kind of signal quality do you get? Do you get some green bars? I was considering placing the antenna under the dash right near the windshield but I can't access that area. I can't really get under the dash near the windshield so I couldn't even really place the antenna on top of the dash at the front near the windshield. I do want a more factory look, it would be awesome if I could find somewhere to hide the antenna where I can't see it and get a great signal. I think I may also call Pioneer tomorrow and see what they say. It's pretty ridiculous that I don't get green bars with th
  21. Well I installed my AVIC-F900BT last summer (early adopter) myself. I did a textbook installation and everything went perfect. I ran the GPS antenna wire down the side of my car and up to the roof. I placed it on the edge of the roof in the back corner. I noticed lately that I am getting really poor GPS signals. Most of the time I can only acquire 9 satellites and none are green. Most are yellow and a couple of reds. Today I took the interior out of my car for a deep cleaning and I decided that I wanted to do something about my satellite signal. I pulled the antenna off the roof and pulled
  22. That's usually where speed sensors are located. Most speed sensors detect the speed from the transmission.
  23. Once you purchase the unit from Pioneer, you have the right to do anything you want to the unit. You can completely format the unit and put anything you want on it if you would like. You own the unit and the software, you can make any modifications to the unit you wish. Your main concern should not be whether they can take legal action against you, because they cannot, it should be whether or not they will honor the warranty because the warranty does claim that no modifications can me made to the hardware or software for the warranty to remain active. The reason you should be worried about
  24. I completed a warranty return successfully with a software mod on it. I had a modded DATA.ZIP and they didn't say anything about it to me and I received my new (not refurbished) unit quickly. The engineers were also using my defective unit to diagnose the original TTS issue (where TTS wouldn't show up at all after the 2.0 update). I'm not saying send in a heavily modded unit because they may now know that users are modding the units. However, like said above, if you absolutely cannot get the original software on it, you have nothing to lose.
