  1. SYS.TXT: 3d_scale_carmodel=1 3dcarsizemin=4000 3dcarsizemax=6000 3dcarsizemul=60000; adjust numbers as desired. Thanks alot boris. Which one of these would I change to, lets say, just make it skinner but leave the same size? I know I have to do trial and error, but it would really help to have a starting point.
  2. Finally got back into town (was on 4 month leave), and would like to get back on finishing my mod. Can someone point me in the direction of the post that gave a how to change the size of the original 3D arrow? I could have sworn I saw it some months ago. Checked the faqs, and couldn't find it in a search.
  3. Skicrave, I don't really know how the compass mod works. All credit goes to Stephanie. What I did was take the Sci Fi theme that Stephanie made (scroll down on link) http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... ht=#117339 and with her help deleted out things and custom added things by changing the map colors and photo shopping the bmp files. In the Sci Fi theme the compass is already in place, as seen here. Again I don't know how she did it, all I did was make me a custom compass (file that I posted above), renamed it to steph_compass.bmp and copied it over the old compass p
  4. For others that are looking for a nice compass to go with their custom screens, here is one that I made. On screen Jai's Compass.zip
  5. Yes, and it seems to reset itself with 2.0. Worked for me in the previous firmware.
  6. That will fit great with my car that I fitted with converted blue scanner.
  7. Let your car sit outside for a while to pick up the gps again. I dont think there is anything wrong with your GPS, it probably lost its pinpoint location to the satellites. Thanks for you help Leetcoder, I had it outside on for the past hour but no go. The funny thing is your launcher with Igo8 picks up the signal just fine. I have a backup of the whole Flash disk an am now debating if I should just delete it and replace it with the original. UPDATE: Redeleted the iGo file and put a fresh backup of the original iGo file in its place and its working now.
  8. Wow, I've done screwed up big time. I was curious on what would happen if I replace the iGo folder with the iGo8 patched folder. I made a back up of the iGo folder, renamed iGo8 to iGo, renamed LeetIGO8.exe to EZRIDER.EXE and place it in the APL2 folder. The system started IGO 8 and seem to be loading fine, but stopped at the menu. No harm done (I thought) as I had the backup iGo folder. I placed it back and the system started up fine, but now I no longer get a satellite signal. I have done a search for a hard reset but no go. Any Ideas anyone?
  9. Ok I'm about to try this. Hi ggarcez, Do I need to add voices, or does the voices folder already have everything?
  10. Faster boot time for me as well as response time. Does work.
  11. Oops, Didn't see that had been updated, thanks Boris.
  12. Been trying to locate where I can change the font color and the route color. Its just to hard to see the font color in the day. Anyone know? Much appreciate for any help.
  13. I know what you mean, an I found it to be a very useful feature. Knowing the upcoming exit was one of the things I missed when I gave up my Garmin.
  14. Great work BorisM. By the way did the Gas Station icons go away?
  15. This thread is no longer productive and has no meaningful solution nor purpose. Agree to disagree, and let it go.
  16. Stephanie, I got the Keep Position On Road to show up, but its greyed out (the default shows ON). I have the F90. Do you think I should change the 749 numbers to 747?
  17. Stephanie, could you post that icon info when you get the chance? I got all the Red Light POIs to show so just need this next step.
  18. Yup, that was it. I gonna try as you suggested and try and make a custom compass. I'm really enjoying learning all these customizations.
  19. Stephanie, Is there a way to get the Redlight and Speedcam POI (posted by leetcoder) to show up without using the SD card. I got it working using the SD card, which I would be fine with, but this method sometimes slows up the AVIC, and at other times just freezes it to a point. POI extinctions on the AVIC flash drive are different formats then in the Redlight POI folder.
  20. Thanks Stephanie, hopefully its just something small. Well here is the progress I have made so far with all of your help. I can't think of anything else to fix right now except the Compass problem. If it can't be fixed, any idea what else can go there? Well I'm pretty tired so I'm going to get some sleep. Again Stephanie I can't thank you enough for all your help, if you lived in my city I would gladly had took you out for dinner. (And your Cat too!)
  21. Thank you Stephanie . That last bit of info solved everything, and I have been non stop working on getting everything just right. I believe I found a glitch on the Sci Fie theme, on the compass. Here are the pics. As soon as I start driving it starts doing this. Its turning ok, but its ghosting. Have tried it in 2d and 3d, as well as night and day, but still the same.
  22. Hi Stephanie, I decided to go the smarter route and just go with your Sci FI theme as has all the customizations I wanted (Sattelite Signal Strength icon is perfect) besdes a few things I would like to go back to original if I can (keep the Sci Fi, but without the Raptors I guess) 1. The Circles in red are what I would like to change. I kept the original sys.txt thinking the raptor wouldn't show, as I would like to just have the arrow. Don't know how to get the arrow back in 2d mode. 2. I wanted to put back original 3d\ Map confirmation Icons as well as the custom D
  23. Damn. Having my first problem. The transparent arrows that show up to point your way when your navigating, barely shows up on my black background. Someone know where these arrows are located at?
  24. Thanks Stephanie. Try and set your camera to Macro (for shooting in close, it has a flower icon) if you have it, with the car dash lights on. Make sure its on Muti AF and not Center AF. If your camera has autofocus thats always a good thing. No room for a tri-pod.
