I had this problem with my iphone when on 4.0 i dont know if its caused by the same but in my case it was apple causing the problems, id try a different phone to be sure but it may not be the pioneer at fault.

Im not an ICE expert but i do a lot of work with computers and im assuming the reason that it is taking a while is that the avic checks to see if there is any update data on the card on boot assuming that it is present, it might be worth trying just ejecting the card and seeing if it helps if it does you could just eject and replace every time?

As the above poster said you do need to use either the pioneer cable or the apple composite one, both work fine, one thing i have noticed well 2 actually, first my iphone (basically same as itouch) will not show unless there is music on there, and secondly ios4 is rubbish on the f series. Have you connected it to your Handbrake cable correctly or done the Bypass? Anthony

I know when i had one just off the camera there was a wire with 2 pins and a jumper and you left the jumper out to reverse the image, as far as i know there is no software way instead you have to have a camera physically possible to reverse.

sorry to rain on your parade but iv noticed a big problem, in our settings menu we have nothing about VR ipod cataloguing so this to me suggests there is something else it does maybe another task or exe. and i tried the whole US firmware on EU unit it works but no closer to VR.

OK no success there, i was only able to choose ENglish UK as system language which makes me wonder if that is what the underlying problem is, i was able to choose the US voice but that didnt give me what i needed but the thing is all the settings menus were the same so there was no Ipod thingy to do the whole databasing thing so im beggining to wonder if it is hardwired into the unit like a location jumper or something, i really am out of ideas after the firmware on my unit is basically all US except the maps, poi and license files and it still doesent work i need to do some uni work but il tr

Ok guys over the last day i have been fliddling with firmware basically i installed US firmware onto my EU unit it was basically identical i choose english UK as the language though so im going to go and try again but choose english US with uk voice did not work. but on a general note anyone with US units should be safe to install EU backups on their unit as i had no problems my FM range was normal and the maps showed up fine i didnt have time to test TMC but il check that a bit later although i belive the hardware is missing from the US units. Ok i made a new topic just after the forum refresh but it got deleted so i am going to try again. Hello, while browsing the internet i seen about ford sync and i know that pioneer claim the f900bt is better than sync but as a UK ford owner i dont have the luxury of voice control or anything else like you guys in the US. So what i was wondering is could the windows mobile automotive software be installed on the unit and modified to work, i know basic programming as i study computers at uni and i think the new platform which is based on windows mobile may work but is it possible. Helloo i wanted to open this topic back up as i really want voice control on my EU F900BT any ideas, i noticed when installing the 1.9 update it does install voicebox software but i cant see any way of acticvating it. Anyone? UPDATE - I was fiddling around in test mode the other day and found the app which appears to control voice control the thing is i spoke and it could hear me because it done some commands but didnt actually recognise them well it appearted so anyway could anyone tell me the commands that are the US models so i could try one of two.
