  1. It isn't the navigation that is bad, it is TeleAtlas's POI data and maps. All nav systems that use TeleAtlas maps have the same problem. They are very accurate in their European coverage, but their North American coverage and accuracy is pretty crappy. Navteq maps (which most nav systems in North America use) are much more accurate. Hopefully TeleAtlas will get better in future map updates (something I have been hoping for since I had my TomTom Go 3 years ago). It is one of the major challenges that no matter how good the nav interface and location accuracy are, if there is not ac
  2. Yup ... sounds like it will be quite the job.. especially considering I have no idea what I am doing and no experience with this kind of thing. But hey - that just makes it all the more fun. I considered the N series but I found the screen too flimsy and the interface nowhere near as nice as the Z series. not to mention I wanted to make is as OEM looking as possible. We will see... you will either see some posts with success stories on here... or photos of my Discovery going up in flames. Cheers! (thanks for the advice!)

  5. Damn you people with your normal cars. I have a 2004 Land Rover Discovery with 1.25 DIN. Very odd. I can't find any info anywhere on the web about modifying it to a 2 DIN.
  6. Would anyone out there mind seeding the Z3 image torrent? I am trying to download it via bit torrent, and getting a very slow 5kbps download speed. Eta 18 days! . Thanks guys
  7. Wow! Great! Thanks so much (I want that LR concept ) Here is just a plain Land Rover BG...
  8. Hey there guys! I am graphically and artistically inept. Can someone make me couple of Land Rover backgrounds? Maybe something 3D or futuristic looking? Thanks!
  9. Thanks . ALthought, I was just reading the Z2/Z3 reviews.... it looks pretty awesome too, yet I haven't heard it brought up much as an alternative. What makes the Kenwood better than this unit? Any ideas?
  10. None of the other units seem to have the same XM radio features as the F-series. I am used ti the stand alone XM radios, in which you can program and artist and every one of their songs play on any channel you are alerted. The F-Series seems to have this functionality as well, but the neither the JVC nor Kenwood do . Why oh why does the F90bt have to be everything I want? (this is the part where I prostrate myself before the heavens, shaken my fist in hopeless frustration. I always go for the underdog so I know i am going to end up getting the F90bt, because I dislike the JVC interf
  11. Thanks guys! Unfortunately 50secs, is still a long time to sit in a car idling before you can in put your destination. If I had faith that in the future they would release an update that sped up bootup time, even to 30 sec, I would defintely get the F90BT. Skicrave, I was looking at the 5120 and 8120, and mostly liked what I saw (other than the garmin interface). DO you have any thoughts on the JVC KW-NX7000 as an option? Heck I even saw that Audiovox/jensen has a bluetooth nav system. CHeers,. [
  12. Birthday present to myself this year is Nav/Entertainment system. I had my heart set on the F90BT, but from the reviews on here it sounds like I should stay away from it unless I want to idle for 3 minutes prior to starting every trip. What would you recommend as the best alternative? Nav, ipod control, XM integration and bluetooth are important to me. Thanks so much guys!
  13. Hello all! I am about to install an F90BT in my 2004 LR Discovery, and I had a few questions that I am hoping those of you have more experience with these units and installs hopefully can answer. I am sure many of the answers are already in the forums somewhere - I am just not sure if I am asking the right questions to find them! I have looked at a number of systems, and can't seem to find another out there that compares with the F-series in functionality or style. I am very much looking forward to getting it done. Here goes: 1. What does the VSS wire really do on the F90BT? I
