1. No need to be free but 250 bucks is ridiculous. And once a year is a bit archaic... IMO anyways.
2. I calibrated mine... works fine.

4. Help Tele Atlas fix areas that you know are messed up so that on the next release it could be fixed. http://mapfeedback.teleatlas.com/index.htm
5. Browse is gone and the button says Set My Favorites. And once you set them everything works. Browse worked once for me and it worked the same way that this new way does....just renamed. Map chances besides that.... My inlaw's street got renamed to another road right next to it.... thats kind of annoying. Jason
6. It also depends on how tele atlas placed it on the map in the software.
7. Wow I created a rucuss... lol I was cranky that day with work and carried it over here. Sorry if you took it the wrong way...I was really bitching about USPS not you. I just got home... and saw it delivered.... In anycase... this is the first time it ever took longer than 3 days with priority for me. Usually NY shipping only takes 2 days. USPS sucks but they are cheap. Anyways.... Thanks for the sweet DVD's ....I gotta go install them now.
8. funk dat.. it's too hott to chill and USPS Priority Mail is a guaranteed service of no more then 3 days... I have the right to bitch.
9. If i remember correctly without looking at the diagram.. the red is just a switched power telling the unit to turn on. You would have to tie the camera power into the yellow 12v wire.
10. Well, I'm pissed... Mine were shipped on Tuesday supposedly... according to the email.... so today was the 3rd day and I got nothing... effin bullshit.. I want my shipping money back.
11. Mine should be in tomorrow.... was hoping today since you were just in NY but USPS is slacking. lol
12. I've owned my d1 for 2 years now....It has never failed me and I've done many trips... even local stuff. Granted it doesn't know every local shortcut... but every trip I've been on with it...as much as 900 miles has been spot on. I have mine set to shortest route and multiple. I've put it side by side with my inlaws nuvi660 I had them buy and they were pretty much the same.

14. You are connecting them both to a chassis ground right?
15. Every car will sound louder in the front... you are only 1 foot away from teh front speakers but 3 to 4 feet away from the rears..... Rear is mainly used for the rear passengers... sitting in the front seat you should barely hear the rear when you set it up correctly.
16.
Thanks for the info. I guess I'll find out how the kit looks as I just committed to the install. I had planned to do myself over the holidays, but my local Pioneer distributor has reduced the price to $999. Claims Pioneer has just lowered their price. I couldn't beat that price from an authrozed dealer on the internet so decided to go ahead. Dealer won't do the bypass though so I'll still have to do that myself.
Yes..the factory GXE kit looks ALOT better... who knows...it might be fine for you but the only kit that made me happy was the factory GXE kit.
17. Um no....you don't just tug on the wire....look really close at it...the is a locking tab that holds it in. I used a tiny pick tool......
18. I have a D1 in my car...yes it works just fine. I purchased a Nissan Double DIN trim from the Maxima with NAV. FOUND HERE: http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchant2/ ... 8750-VENTC You unscrew the stock radio from the mounting bracket and screw it to the D2 If you already have the Bose stereo, you might already have the above trim piece..... Hope this helps..... PS... you do end up with a small gap at the bottom....about 1/4 to 5/16 of an inch..... I used black plast
19. If you can....run the mic on the A-Pillar corner on the headliner. One side or the other of the visor.....
20.
Did you burn a double layer disc or a single layer disc?
I'm using DVD-DL discs.....I use a single layer to test....then burn the full DL once I have chosen everything and it all works correctly.....
21.
I think i fixed it, I called pioneer and they actually told me about reseting the learning status and i did that and it worked. I think it was because the previous owner of the D2 had the VSS wire hooked up and it learned how he drove but im just glad to fix it, its probly not as accurate as with the VSS hooked up but i dont know where it is in my car (pontiac g6) so i dont want to bother with it.
Thats funny....I wonder if the previous owners antenna was turned in a different orientation then your was..... PS...I thought it was a new unit..... I thou
