  1. I've searched the forum, but apparently I've overlooked how to reduce the amount of time the dogs are barking/wav for speedcam/POI's. I'd love to just have.....I dunno...2 seconds of barking, versus the ~30seconds I am hearing now when I hit one driving down the interstate. I've tryed changing the settings directly on the Avic, but it doesn't seem to affect the length/repeatability of the wav. So is there a hack I'm overlooking to limit the # of times the wav plays, or is there a way to just mute it that I am overlooking? I had my boss in the car the other day when it went off, and I
  2. This has happened before, same cop (equally funny) Scroll down til you see Cruzan_Boy http://orlandoforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28957&page=1&pp=40

  4. +1. I also went from Zune to Ipod. Zune only has about a 5% market share. Going to need a lot more of them on the streets before stereo manufacturers start implementing any type of control like we see for the Ipods. Kinda sucks, I liked the Zune better in my hand. But the Ipod integration with the Avic makes it all worthwhile.
  5. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it won't work. Not just for the F90, but I'm not aware of ANY aftermarket stereos that will output data to integrate with a factory dash. They all take data IN (like from steering wheel controls), but not pushing it OUT, which your application would require. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to tell me if I'm off base.....
  6. No, just 3d Screen data flying 2 feet off the screen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1Sgdgv6Q2A http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9A9MFyonmM
  7. My wife has a Infiniti 07 FX35 Sport with factory Nav. Car had a MSRP of ~45K. We bought it used. The rear-view camera is instant. No delay, no waiting - as fast as you can start the car and put it in reverse, you have a picture. It also has lines on the screen for distance and the width of the car, showing you exactly where the vehicle is going. This is perfect. Love it. Want it. The bluetooth integration sucks, and you have to add contacts *verbally*, one at a time. No uploading. No onscreen. It's a giant pain in the ass. "Would you like to add a user?" Yes. "Please spea
  8. With all due respect, commercials never match up, and never have. When's the last time a beer commercial worked out they way it was shown? Will an alarm system really save your home? Shoes make you run faster? Perfume get you laid? I remember not long back that Cingular had a billboard that said "Fewest dropped calls." If that doesn't tell you they are in a "who sucks less" industry nothing does. All companies exaggerate ads. You'll never get past a judge showing them a youtube video with sparks coming off the radio showing what a great night the guy had with his new F90BT and hav
  9. Sort of. A developer (or more likely, developers managers) may say it will take an estimated X amount of time to say....integrate IPOD *perfectly* with an F90. Then Ipod goes and updates to Version 6 or releases a new (very popular) device. Whoops. Start over. Still have to watch that clock and count the dollars. Now all of a sudden the Ipod doesn't pause when a call comes in. Should that stop shipping the product? Nope. Won't happen. I'm making that up, but you see the point. As for listening to customer's complaints - no, that's a key part as well. Part of the cost involved
  10. I'm probably going to get flamed. Whatever. When building software, there are 3 components. You can break them down further, but these are the basics. After spending months drawing up the loong looong list of what you WANT to have in your product, and the idea of getting to Market by a certain date, you then have to face the realities of: #1 - Cost #2 - Features (plus reliability) #3 - Time That one feature harder to code than expected? Too buggy or doesn't pass an extensive test review? Well, either cut it entirely, or add money (pay more developers) and time. Or if yo
  11. You really need the manual. You'll learn alot about the unit, and enjoy it a bit more I think: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/Manuals/Navigation/AVIC-F900BT_Operation_Manual.pdf
  12. No offense here - are you SURE you have hungup the call? When I have this if I look at the phone my end is still showing call connected. Just push the knob in to disconnect the call - once I started using this to hangup instead of clicking the red phone button this problem went away.

  14. I'd buy a black knurled in a heartbeat. That's going to be sweet. Just say "ready" and I'll send the payment.
  15. I have an 06 Tundra with JBL, I would presume they are similar. I was using the Peripheral brand adapter to connect the F90BT headunit to the stock speakers. No problems. I also have a small amp running two 8" JL's that are under the rear seats, running from the sub RCA's from the headunit. I later changed the front speakers to aftermarket components, and I got a hum that wouldn't go away. So I had to run speaker wire directly from the pioneer to the aftermarkets, problem solved. Still using the adapter to run the rears.
  16. Just tossing out a "me too." In 6 months, this has happened 2-3 times. Always a surprise when it starts talking. Always thought it was me clicking something I shouldn't or forgot about til I saw this thread. I'm running Maverickster's mods, plus a few others (XM icons, branding.zip, hardware bypass, etc). I don't think the mods have anything to do with it, given the rarity of the problem. It surely isn't a big enough problem for me to ever consider trying to debug it or remove any mods.
  17. No, the AVIC cannot play M3U's from a hard drive. It's file/folder only. You can only browse the file structure. Same as with a SDCard or USB Stick. For the other questions, I am not an IPOD expert, so I have no doubt I will be corrected if I am wrong. There were some 3rd party programs out there that could push files to an IPOD Classic (maybe others) with ITunes 5.x. Once the device/ITunes is at Version 6, however, you are pretty much stuck. You can use 3rd party to pull items FROM the IPOD, but not pushing files TO it. Apple locked it down. Mine was a version 6 when I bought it,
  18. For covering the hole, just get a small piece of dark auto carpet and trim it to fit and lay it in there, maybe with a small piece velcro on the corners to hold it down - you'll be able to squeeze the cables through a much smaller cut in the carpet and it won't be as noticeable. ....wants a 350Z so bad.....
  19. The official XM logo updates are supposedly coming in April along with the new map updates. Lot of folks were complaining about having to pay (for the maps) to get the XM logos which they felt should have been free. I didn't search for the specific thread, but dig around the XM folders to find it.
  20. I have a 160GB Ipod as well. The album art is VERY rare, but it does show up. Honestly I see it so rarely I'm suprised when it shows up. Next time I see it, I'll make a point to confirm the artist/album so I can find it and figure out what it is that might be different. I *do* see all the album art on the ipod switching back and forth on the rare occasion its not buried in my glovebox. Also might be important to note that not a single item on my Ipod has been purchased from apple - I don't even have an account at the store. All my music (about 20,000 songs) I had all prior to the ipo
  21. OK I figured out a handful of things based on some of the questions above. I'll send my data.zip in PM only if someone else wants to post it. Mine has the original 10 shortcuts which I like. All credit for this still goes to Keeper - this is all very minor touch up. To add the 3D Tilt back if you miss it - see above. That and each of the edits below are in the navigatemap_800_480.ui file. To fix the script error, simply add a semicolon. The button on the lower left is supposed to display latitude/longitude when pressed. I have never used this, so I just turned it off - script err
  22. Is there something in the seat that confirms a driver is in there before it starts? Stick something heavy in the seat and try again.
  23. That's really sweet! Looks very well done.
  24. If you just have a single "dot" in 3D now, just edit out the 3D lines in the sys.txt from the original downloaded files.
