  1. I got the email today and just started to laugh! The last update messed up my F700 more than it improved it! No thanks...
  2. I am glad to see I am not the only one. I thought I screwed something up or my SD card was the problem.
  3. SD playback is completely usless now... I think they might have fixed the chopping off of the last 5 seconds of a song problem but in doing that completely screwed the media player!
  4. I am having my share of issues with 3.0. I am starting to wonder if it has to do with the VBR files on my SD card. When all of us were running 2.0, there was a known issue with playing VBR files and the F series cutting the last few seconds of the song off. That now seems to be resolved! Except now my AVIC can't do two things at once. Like play music and use the NAVI at the same time. The NAVI works perfect but the music player will play a song with no problem and then not go to the next song unless I push the MENU and then the MAP button. Then it will move to the next song and whe
  5. Version 3 has resolved the USB issue. If you are playing music from a USB device it will resume AT THE BEGINNING of the song that you left off on... I guess resuming a song where you left off is still a little too much to ask...
  6. The worst part about this is v2.10 sucks! My unit now has crippling issues. The graphics driver is not refreshing the screen and playing MP3's from an SD card is painful. There is a one minute or so pause between every song and the ID3 titles don't update unless I push a function to force a refresh. So in short to those of you that have not started the process yet. Wait until the server comes back up so you won't be stuck using 2.10.
  7. This morning after clicking on submit it briefly flashes a red screen and then goes right back to "Invald Devcie Number" message.
  8. Ordered mine on 7/14 and still "Awaiting Shipment". Hopefully it ships tomorrow!
  9. I guess it would be safe to say the Z110 runs Windows CE too?
  10. I purchased a Spectec 802.11b almost 2 years ago for my Treo 700wx and it still works great today! I only paid about $20 for it back then. I think Spectec is the most popular.
  11. Here was the thread I posted a few months ago. I purchased a USB 10/100 ethernet adapter that had Win CE5 and CE6 drivers available for it. They provide all registry entries and of course the drivers. The adapter was on $10 at my local Fry's Electronics. If one of you that know how to read registery could take a look at the info they provide and tell me if this is difficult that would be awsome. http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=20471
  12. This is all good info! I ordered mine from Amazon this week and it is on its way. I got the 20 just because the price difference was very little and I thought it might be a bit more refined than the first attempt from Pioneer. Who knows though? I am hoping it is a better analog tuner than the one built into the F series. I am going to mount it as close to the antenna as I can to try to improve reception. My car has an amplified (AM only) FUBA antenna and it needs to be replaced. I listen to AM more than FM (news and sports) so that is what I am hoping to improve. How long is the
  13. That was exactly the reason that I mentioned a USB wired ethernet adapter. It would just aquire an IP from the connected router and would not require any action by the user.
  14. You can build a carputer for under $400 and use a HU like your F700 to display it. But why when with the right software you can make the F series do it internally? My other vehicle has a carputer from mini-box.com and it works perfect. I spent about $360 on all the parts.
  15. This has been discussed many times on here. I don't have programming know how or I would give it a shot. I think the AVIC has some of the stacks required for TCP/IP. I noticed it had an icon for BT DUN which is Bluetooth Dial Up Networking. Now my idea was a bit different. I want the internet connection to be as easy as possible for the AVIC. This is why I don't think a WiFi adapter in the SD slot is the best solution. I purchased a USB 10/100 wired ethernet adapter that has CE 5 drivers available. In fact a few months ago I posted all this info on a thread and no body chimed in. I
  16. All of my MP3's are VBR. But only the LAME encoded files get cut off.
  17. I logged on today to see if anyone else has this problem. I have noticed that music encoded with the LAME MP3 encoder do this vs. the Fraunhofer encoded music plays to the last second. Not sure why... LAME is supposted to be one of the best encoders for MP3. I play the same files on my Samsung Omnia (Windows Mobile 6.1) using Windows Media Player and it plays to the end with no issues.
  18. This is a very tough question. I think I would. But there are some annoying issues with the F series that I wish Pioneer would fix. The navigation is very sub-par to my old Kenwood KNA-DV4100. In fact I really don't use the nav at all. I end up using my VZ Navigator instead. I really like the SD card, but the music player is junk. Something that Pioneer could easily fix. One thing I noticed this week was a power supply problem in the unit. When using the video input, the screen flikers with bass hits.... LAME!
  19. It is obvious I used the wrong title when I started this thread: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20471 I found a USB dongle that is a wired ethernet connection and has a chip insde that has WinCE 5 drivers available. I posted the pdf that the manufacture provided on how to enable the driver in WinCE. I don't know enough about it to make it happen but I know there are several people on here that do. I figure if you have a wifi hotspot in your car then you will have a wired one as well. It would be easier for the F series to use a wired connection so you don't have to
  20. Yes. There are many different ways to do this. I currently have in my other car a full blown Windows PC that I bought from mini-box. I was also looking at the Samsung Omnia which has a A/V out. But I would like to make it a little more integrated than that. This would also allow for internet browsing with a browser like Opera or one of those. I will post the pdf file that has the instructions for adding the driver and see if someone can make sense of it. Release.pdf
  21. So to add some info to this. I bought a AirLink 101 ASOHOUSB Fast Ethernet USB 2.0 Adapter. This unit uses the ASIX ax88772a chip which does have a WinCE 5.0 driver provided from ASIX website http://www.asix.com.tw/products.php?op=pItemdetail&PItemID=97;71;101&PLine=71. Maybe Leet or one of the CE experts could take a look at the pdf file they provide on installing this driver and make it make sense? I tried to read it and compare it to the files that I backed up from my F700 but am having a tough time. This would be the fist step to getting an internet connection to the F s
  22. I am just curious if there is interest in finding a way to install Slingplayer Mobile in our F series? The latest release of Slingplayer Mobile supports 800x480 resolution. I have been reading some about ethernet support in CE and from what I gather the support for ethernet is built into CE? I picked up a simple USB 10/100 ethernet adapter today at Fry's and was going to see how the HU reacts to it. But I would like to replace Sirius icon with a Slingplayer icon and install it into the unit. I don't have the know how so I would need some help with this.
  23. gdiviney, I have waited a few days to add to this post. I was laughing my ass off reading your description because it is RIGHT ON THE MONEY!!! The only issue I have not had is with the SD card playback. I use all WMA and it works like a champ. Well, the random play sucks but that is my only gripe. I have a couple of additional issues that bug the crap out of me. One is when you turn the nav voice all the way down, it still cuts out the music for a split second when it was going to say something. In fact the fact there is not a button to completely disable the voices (and not m
  24. I have tried from my 700wx. I don't think it's possible due to the fact you can only "Beam" a vCard via IR. There is not an option for sending via Bluetooth.
