  1. Working on "cars" and working on "car audio" are totally different. I'm not going to take my stereo to a mechanic, and I'm pretty sure he won't bring an engine to me... Good work on fixing it. Point taken. I'm by no extent an installer but have been doing my own stuff for the past 12 years. I guess I overlooked it and he just didn't know what he was doing. Thanks again for the help guys.
  2. Evidently tucking them behind the radio (not plugged in) was sufficient. LOL I'm going to have to heckle him now cause its a pain to get all this stuff in the dash with 3 PAC interfaces.
  3. Mine wasn't plugged into the RCA's correctly. My dad helped and he obviously didn't know what he was doing even though he has been working on cars for 40 years LOL.
  4. I'm going to pull everything out tomorrow and double check again. It took me and my dad both to get all the wiring in the dash with all the PAC modules needed to work on my vehicle. I hope I can get it back in without an extra set of hands. I'll update when I get it figured out. Thanks for all the help guys.
  5. I just got back. I tried a new Pioneer cable and a new Apple cable and both were a no go. I guess I'll wait until Christmas to try to send the unit in. I can still buy squaretrade warranty. Is that recommended?
  6. I just placed an order for one at Best Buy online for in store pickup. If that doesn't work I guess the only option is to try to send in under warranty?
  7. It is definitely set to iPod. I have double checked it several times. I've even taken it off of iPod and turned it back to iPod. I talked to Pioneer and they told me to send the unit back. I bought it on eBay so obviously thats not an option. Looks like I'm stuck going through the guy I bought it from. If the cable was bad would it still show the iPod? If not I might buy one from Best Buy and try that before pulling the unit and shipping it off to who knows where.
  8. Yeah the av1 is set to iPod. Its really odd. It shows album art and all and shows its playing but no sound. I thought maybe it was just an iPhone problem so I tried 2 other iPods and the same problem.
  9. I searched ipod no sound and didn't really get any results. I just installed a AVIC-F90BT over the weekend. I have sound from Sirius, AM, FM, CD, DVD. I plug in my iPod and I get a beep from the iPod. It shows up in the list of sources and the iPod shows Pioneer on the screen. I can access the playlists, the songs, and etc. It shows to be playing but I don't have any sound. I have tried with an early 2 or 3G ipod nano and a iPhone 3G, and a 1G ipod touch. No luck with any of them.
  10. I just wanted to update. I definitely was the version of the interface. The one I had did not have the proper information for the Infinity amp. I just unplugged the old and plugged in the new and all problems were instantly fixed.
  11. Sorry. I wasn't trying to be misleading. The information I got from Pioneer stated that you need 2GB or larger. If I'm incorrect I apologize and hope you find the answer to your question.
  12. Minimum 2 GB card required. You are not getting everything on your card.
  13. Thanks for the warning. I'll keep backups of everything and update you guys on how it works out. Thanks
  14. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=260308449566&ih=016&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem= I just purchased one of these on eBay. I got several of the cheap SD card readers for .30 cents and etc. and they have worked flawlessly with SDHC cards. I have one 16gb name brand card that I use in my Nikon D90 but I don't want to mix it between the camera and the F-Series. Other than that I have some spare 2GB cards. I am going to try it since I already bought one but would like to know if anyone else has used one and what your experience has been.
  15. I have mine mounted under the dash in the factory GPS antenna location. It is right beside the center channel 7th speaker i my dash. There are no vents or anything above it and I have a strong GPS signal.
  16. I tried everything suggested and nothing worked so I called Pac-Audio today. They told me that the version of the C2R-CHY I had from my Jeep was too old for my Dodge. They said I needed Rev. 1.4a.21a and I had Rev. 1.4.11a. So I just spend 140 bucks on a new one from a local retailer. Everything worked fine but the sound. I'll update tomorrow if it works. Is this right that you can't get updates for these things? Sounds like a rip off when you have the correct model but can't get the update for the newer year vehicles.
  17. Thanks I'll try that tomorrow when I get in from work. I scored a flat earlier so I guess I'm either taking the wife's car or the motorcycle to work tomorrow anyway.
  18. I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500. I have a C2R-CHY that I took out of one of my previous vehicles. I installed a new AVIC-F90BT this afternoon using the harness. The system booted fine and allowed me to run the new 2.0 firmware update. The navigation was fully functional, but I don't have sound. The instructions for the C2R-CHY stated that the blue-white wire should be connected to the system control/amp wire on the harness with the RCA's. I made the connection. It also stated that I should hook up only the rear speakers to the front speaker connections from the AVIC. I also made these connect
  19. Not through Premier. I bought one and they place says they will honor the warranty. You can also buy squaretrade warranty. The person I bought from has like 10 years of good feedback on eBay. Just be careful. Anybody almost will replace a DOA unit. Other than that depending on who you buy from you might be on your on.
  20. log out and click on live.com banner and see if it comes up. I had a period of a few days where it wouldn't let me use it. Or have someone else log in with their name and see. I'm not saying your wrong. I'm just saying I wasn't able to use it for days and it magically came back.
  21. I used it more than 12 times too. I was worried when I stopped getting it but it eventually came back. I just used it to buy an AVIC-F90BT and a Nikon D90 camera. I got 375 back on just those two items.
