  1. Been having the same problem with mine from day 1...
  2. Yes you have to boot into testmod via the sd card every time you want to do hacking. You can have your altered data.zip file on the same card as the test mode files. I have a dedicated 2 gig SD card just for the avic hacking... Hope that helps.
  3. I encountered the exact same problem today. Voice kept saying to keep right when if anything it should have been telling me to keep left to stay on the highway. I wonder if this would be fixed by using IGo8? Anyone got any insight on this one?
  4. I will shoot some tonight or tomorrow and post them up.
  5. Ok I can answer #2 for ya. Your unit is powered by the cigarette lighter adapter. (If you are doing a permanent mount you will want this to be on a switched circuit i.e. the ACC Wire going to the radio) The Yellow wire is a direct to battery wire that helps keep the battery in the unit charged for memory and fast start up. Using this method your unit should turn on and off when you start up and turn off the car. If you want to do the bypass hack you will need to ground the parking brake (green) wire. The reverse wire is only necessary if you are hooking up a backup camera.
  6. Hey all I just thougt I'd throw up a list of the mods I have working on my F500BT for other 500 owners. Some of the F series mods only seem to work on 2.0 firmware/ 700,900,90 units so I figured I'd throw this up to help out other new 500 users as to what can be done. These are all 100% working on the F500BT Blue/Green Boxes gone on maps when not navigating (I think I just used someones data.zip that was uploaded on this forum...I don't remember manually changing the code on this one) Disabled Key Press Beeps (deleted files from the sound directory) Parking Brake Bypass Video
  7. Fisrtly I want to say thank you to Marmski your Vista theme is working flawlessly on my F500BT. Now my issue. I've been trying to replace the "contacts" picture with a picture of a Blackberry Bold. I editing everything in photoshop and basicly deleted then pasted back into the origal pic file. I've tried saving as a png and resaving in paint etc. Whenever I load my new image.res I get only the center "contacts" pic and a bunch of blue and yellow bars all the way down the screen. Can anyone explain what I may be doing wrong?
  8. Not for the F500BT. It is only for the 700,900 & 90 units.
  9. You would think that if the European version gets the 2.0 update the U.S. version would also. In the meantime I'm gonna poke around the the Eu update to see if there is a way to hack compatability. Doesn't look like it has a bluetooth update which is a bummer.
  10. I am having the same problem with my F500BT connected to my Blackberry Bold. My carrier is AT&T. My Contacts are loaded in but I only get a number for the caller ID not the contact name. In contrast on my Pioneer 980BT head unit the caller ID works fine...
  11. Has anyone been able to successfully do this on an F500BT? I went through all the steps and when it's completed and I reboot I get a no contacts found screen. Now I did delete entrys and changed the names around because it keeps importing them backwards from my blackberry. I did export to excel to re-edit the entry numbers then re-imported to the database editor. TIA for any help
