can someone tell me where everyone is getting the new z1 update disk. i called pioneer and they said you have to go through a dealer install. any help would be appreciated, thanx.

hey, first off i am no electronics genius(like some of the guys on the site), but i have a 2005 lincoln navigator(same example as a 2005 expedition). here is what i had done. avic z-1 with 2 wire bypass (i will be installing the z-2 update disk next week). all factory speakers removed and replaced with infiniti component speakers. new 10" infinit sub-woofer in custom fiberglass box. i initially left the stock sub-woofer hooked up, but it became a problem. the stock sub could not keep up with the rest of the system and became a weak spot in the system. i went back to the installer and he total

is there any way to be able to make the nav guidance voice mute the "bluetooth" when you are on a call. my nav turns off eveything(radio,ipod,ect..) to talk to me, but if i am on a phone call, i will miss a turn because she does not talk to me then. any help!!!

hello, i had my verizon wireless razr hooked up on my z1 bluetooth, and it worked great. i switched phone carriers to t-mobile and got the phone hooked up. well, everything workd fine, except, when i dial a phone# i cannot hear anything until the person on the other end says hello. once they pick up and talk everything is fine, but until they pick up i hear no ringing or anything. antbody got an idea. thanx phone is t-mobile v195s

i am a little confused. when the z-2 update comes out, do you have to get the whole "z-2" update, or will there be an option to just get mapping update. i know it is not out yet, but i was just wondering if anyone knew the answer. thanx (i have the z-1)

i am by no means an expert, but i would do a level 3 reset. it soumds like the hdd is a little confused. hope this helps a little

every time i call my mother the first thing she says is "oh, you are in your car", and i say yes. i say how do you know? she says, well, i can tell, but it does not sound bad, i can just tell. well, a couple days ago i did the bluetooth disk fix. i have called my mother several times since, and each time she says, " where are you?" i say i am in my navigator, can't you tell, and she said, "no, it sounds perfect, like you are calling from home". the update disk takes a few minutes to upload, but i really believe they figured something out to fix the problems. just thought people might wa

i have an oct 06 build date, yesterday i got the disk from pioneer and i uploaded it. it uploaded perfectly, and i made some calls and the people said there was a noticable improvement in overall quality.

i agree with you on a point. i love my z1 VERY much, but i DO NOT understand why we have these old maps!!!!!!! i just do not get it. we are supposed to have the most modern nav systems and our maps are old. i called teleatlas and talked to them, and they said, well, we have given pioneer the most up to date mapping data, you will just have to wait to get it from them. i don't get it!
