Well, I used the files on page one today to give this one last try... NOPE, no dice. Does the exact same thing. Goes through the install process, then reboots and goes through the install process again, and again, and again...

I will give it a try tomorrow and report back...

Do you have another phone that you can try? My iphone works perfectly, but my wifes Samsung Vu does exactly what you are describing. You did register for the MSN service??? I often show no signal bars but am getting the feed.

I was just kidding guys... I made my way out to the Ocotillo Wells OHV area yesterday. It was a fun trip because I started at the beach (65 degrees), drove up through Julian at 4200 feet (50 degrees)and saw snow and then down the other side of the mountain to the dessert where it was nearly 80 degrees. The nav worked perfectly and amazingly, the area out in the OHV was even covered in the maps. There are several trails that were shown.

I was trying to find the local Walmart and ended up 85 miles East in the middle of the damn Anza Borrego desert. I use magic video converter and it has worked flawlessly for me. I have about 50 movies already converted if anyone wants to host them I will make them available.

Ok, one last attempt and then I will give up and assume that this is something that only works on the 500's. I start the system with the SD card inserted and all of the files exactly as shown. The Mio Installation menu starts installing all of the parts to the program. On the very last line of the installation it says, " Installation Complete... Rebooting" And then the entire system reboots and starts the process over. Am I to do something else? Do I initiate the program from within testmode? Or should it just open and begin working after the installation is complete? Thanks for any hel

Seriously, it would really suck to download what you thought was a data.zip from a trusted member only to find out some idiot had modified it with something screwed up. I have several themes that I can upload this evening.

Definitely not working for me... I have used the Fred method and although it appears the software is installing, the system just reboots back in to the install screen and does this over and over. I had assumed (maybe incorrectly) that since it could be done on the 500, it could be done on the 900...

After doing the entire process over again, I am able to get the system to boot into MIO INSTALLATION. It goes through what appears to be the entire process. It loads the files, loads the wallpaper and skins and then the screen goes blank and the system reboots.

I continued to try to get it to work today also... I am fairly convinced that I am using the instructions provided exactly as they are written and it will not work. Today, after inserting the SD card with the correct data on it the Avic begins playing all of the sound files that are contained in the software and displaying a pop up that states (all unrecognized files are skipped) (or something like that...).

They wont void your warranty, but they might reverse engineer it and produce one themselves... I think that Thomas should patent these quickly! I can see it now, in about 4 weeks Pioneer has "Upgrade Knobs" on their website for $49.95 each!!!!

I am attempting to test this and have run in to a couple issues. If using the instructions on the provided link, we are told to insert the SD card with the unit already on. I have tried this with both the unit in normal mode (the stereo) and while already in TestMode. In neither case did simply inserting the SD card do anything. I have gone back and reformatted the SD card, put the correct renamed files back on the SD card and tried again with no success. Can you tell me if this was done from the stereo mode, or test mode... And I am correct in thinking that I should be using the instruc

Ive occasionally had this issue since day one... 80% of the time its correct, and quite frankly as long as the map shows me at the correct place and going in the correct direction... why do we need to know what direction that is?

WOW, that community is rather like this one... Some very dedicated modders! If you go all the way to the very last page, one of the heavy hitters just posted the complete software with several mods and with the patch built in. I will try this tomorrow! T

My suggestion would be to go to the Pioneer site, download the entire 2.0 upgrade and start over. Then once that is done, find one of the posted data.zip files that are complete and install that. In all honesty, if you didnt even bother to do a backup of your system prior to trying to mod it, you broke the cardinal rule of modding... There is a great thread here about reinstalling the update with full instructions and links to the software downloads. USE THAT!

I took the time to install the beta WIndows 7 on a spare machine that I have and I am pretty impressed. Although in typical Microsoft fashion they have loaded it with a lot of useless junk and "pretty things". The base OS seems alot more stable and responsive than Vista Ultimate. I am just curious if anyone else is using it... and if so, what are your opinions. T
