  1. Key Beeps can be turned completly off now, and there is a new beep sound so it's not so annoying. The rumor is testmode will no longer work with 3.0, but we'll see. Awesome. What about quick access to muting the navigation? I'm more interested the more I hear.
  2. If we can't get into Test Mode with the 3.0 update, you can definitely count me out for the buying of the software. Being able to turn off key beeps, for example, is a MUST.
  3. My Best Buy will honor the manufacturer warranty, though they didn't look pleased this second time around.
  4. Thank you for the offer, but I just picked up my replacement this morning. Build date of September 2008, so maybe it will work better. Not holding my breath, though. . Thank you, though.
  5. I'm getting REALLY tired of the AVIC series. There is NO question they are some of the buggiest in-car units in the history of in-car units. My first AVIC F700BT's touch-screen just stopped working randomly one day. No response. My second F700BT decided after 2 months of no major issues to delete its BT software whenever it feels like it, so it says under Phone->settings>bluetooth update: "No software revision found." Then I have to flash the update to the BT software, at which point the BT works, until I turn the unit off and on again a few times, and then the software is gone
  6. Mine has started doing it again. This is REALLY frustrating. How often am I supposed to reinstall the BT software???!!!! In the Bluetooth menu it just says "Software Revision not found" (or something like that). And no mods except removing the key beeps. Just a plain Jane 2.0 install. Do you guys have any other tips on how to fix this infuriating bug?
  7. Well, I fixed the issue. SOMEHOW, the BT software was no longer installed. It wouldn't give me the software version in the BT menu on the AVIC. I just did another BT update from Pioneer's website, and now it works again. This unit really is just stupidly buggy.
  8. Yesterday, my 700BT worked fine, as it has done for several months. Today, I turn on the stereo and BT no longer connects. The BT light on the F700BT no longer even flashes, and it can't find any phones, no matter how many I try. Am I missing something? I try pairing from the phone, and it doesn't find the AVIC. Did my AVIC take a dump?
  9. Yes, the file system is the same. I would have returned my F700BT if it were not for this fix. Those beeps are ridiculous and indicative of Pioneer's idiocy when designing the F-series.
  10. Honestly, anyone who buys a unit and pays $50 extra because it came with 2.0 is.... Well... let's just say a fool and his money...
  11. I had this same problem with my F700BT. I did not do the ground or parking brake mod. I ended up exchanging the unit for a new one.
  12. Search in the hacks section of the F-series forum. There are files you can get to in Test Mode that you can replace with blank MP3s to get rid of those annoying beeps.
  13. We're probably just more sensitive to it than others. I don't think anything can be done, honestly....
  14. Don't think it's a grounding issue. Phone is nowhere near the Avic, and it only does it during the call. It's also not constant. Just sporadic, though definitely every call.
  15. I've noticed that on my F700BT, when I use my iPhone 3G, I hear nasty high-pitched squeals during my calls. They're those super annoying frequencies that as you get older are supposed to not hear anymore (bring on the old age!). Well, right now I hear them through my speakers. Bear in mind this is my second F700BT (first one's touchscreen died), and BOTH did/do it. Any input on this one? Thanks guys.
  16. Did you take the whole knob off???
  17. Gosh, what a terrible design. That really is awful in terms of usability. Love the S4, though. Almost bought an RS4 a while back, and cross-shopped my last car with an 2002 S4 (2.7 V6 bi-turbo, not the 4.2 V8 current version). Anyway, I just don't think down there is a logical place for a navigation system, at all. It should be as high up as possible. That's why people mount the portables to their windscreens.
  18. It's a fair enough point. I guess I just don't dig it, sorry. I'm glad you're happy. Just be safe!
  19. What? Cars that have a Navi option always have the slot for the stereo very high up. Take, for example, my car. Look where the stereo is: And now compare how low down the BMW stereo is. This shows the BMW was not designed for a navigation option.
  20. Nice install.. HOWEVER, It makes me sad the number of people who are installing navis in cars that are simply not designed for them. I'd hate to be in front of you when you're looking down at your navi and I hit my brakes. But that's just my 2 cents on the matter...
  21. ipxnsv, very nice THANK YOU! Last request: Any chance of getting rid of the aliasing, especially on the car? Some jaggies = bad! THANK YOU!
  22. Thanks for the reply! Something cool.... like a Silver 2008/2009 STI looking bad-ass, or the WRC car looking more...badass. Anything you think would look BADASS!!!
  23. Any chance of some more 2008/2009 Subaru Impreza STI themes? I'm addicted! The ones above are pretty good, but I'd prefer it if the white space was black. I find white very harsh on my eyes, especially at night! Thanks guys!
  24. I hope I gets mine soon. I got my car back today and I'm REALLY conscious of how ridiculously small that factory knob is. I NEED A BIG, BLACK KNOB DARNIT!
