1.
I have a question before I purchase my AVIC-Z1. I've searched and read the forum and read both manuals but I can't seem to figure out if the AVIC-Z1 will control the DEQ-P8000's Volume. Everyone seems to say no but then I can't understand why the DEQ-P8000 would even need the IP-Bus Cable. I have a Cadillac Escalade ESV and want to be able to control the volume from the steering wheel or the AVIC-Z1 not the AXM-P8000. I also plan on using the XDV-P6 which has an Optical Output also I believe, could I hook both up optically to the AVIC-Z1? Thanks!
The

    WRX and Z1 anyone?
how did you get that subaru logo there on the screen ? i would love to do that.
I photoshopped the logos together, transferred it onto a CD, then loaded it. I have 2 versions, one with and one without carbon fiber background.

    WRX and Z1 anyone?
Im looking at installing the Z-1 with the TV tuner this weekend in my 02 WRX, just wondered how all the other WRX'rs liked the unit! Thanks for your input!
I have an '04 WRX. Along with the Z1, I'm also running the DEQ-P8000 with the AXM-P8000 controller (shown), center channel, and voice/NAV speaker. Front separates are Infinity Kappas, rear Infinity coaxes, and 1 Audiobahn 10" subwoofer. One mult-channel Fosgate amplifier powers the entire system. I mounted the GPS antenna on top of the 3rd brake light housing. The unit has worked flawlesly from da
  4. Here's my installation in my 2004 Subaru WRX. I'm also using a Pioneer DEQ-P8000 with AXM-P8000 (shown) with Pioneer TS-CX7 center channel, and a Pioneer CD-TS37GP guidance speaker. Front and rear speakers are Infinity Kappas, with a 10 inch Audiobahn subwoofer. Everything is powered by Rockford Fosgate 801x. 5.
Hey all, another stupoid question? There is an optional guide speaker qhich can be attached, another one of those (sold seperately) items. I was under the impression and correct me if i am wrong! That if you get a phone call the audio should mute or lower to allow you to hear the phone call, and continue on talking! Also will the audio mute when directions are given from the nav. Doesn't this all happen in the same existing car radio speakers? Why would i buy a guide speaker? Help! any comments or knoledge on this to shed some light please!
Wh

  8.
G-Man, Can you turn off the AMX8000 and use the Z-1 for volume control or do you always have to use the AMX8000? This makes me wonder about not being able to use Voice controls, and this means I'll have one more remote control to lose. If I lose the remote than I can no longer control the system? Another thought came up...now I'll have three crossovers in the system, Amp, Z-1, and the DEQ-P8000. Doe's this make tweaking the system more difficult? I like to tweak with my systems as much as the next guy but I don't want it to get confusing either. I just want to make sure this
  9.
How do you like the 5.1 processor? I'm upgrading to the Z-1 from the AVHP7600DVD and already have 5.1 speakers and amp set up. I don't listen to the 5.1 that often it seems to sound better when I have the Dolby turned off. I’ve never really been satisfied with the playback sound with the 5.1. My question to the guys with the DEQP8000 is it worth it? What are some of the Dolby and DSP modes? Any feed back would be appreciated. Thanks
I'm very happy with it, especially when watching DVDs. My other vehicles all had Mark Levinson systems, so I grew to appreciate t

  11.
I have mines in the optical 2 input to get the digital sound while using the front outputs. The pioneer techs I noticed this year are no help at all. When you have a troubleshooting problem, their response is "Take it back to your installer or like you said, "send it in for repairs" Last year the help was much better.
thanks.... I figure at this point, I'll just keep the configuration that works and disregard the manual and Tech support. I'm still wondering why my front outputs don't seem to work unless 5.1 Sound is off, and hooking them up to non-fading wo
  12. I recently installed my AVIC-Z1 along with a DEQ-P8000 w/ AXM-P8000 (controller). Initially, I installed it just like in the install manual: plug in the optical cable to the DEQ-P8000 Optical 1 input, and Front RCA output into the analog input, which is what is instructed for analog signals.. 2 Things, no digital sound and no output from the Front RCAs unless 5.1 Sound is set Off. The only way I got mine to work is to plug it into Optical 2 and using the subwoofer/non-fading output. Did Pioneer make an error in the installation instructions or is something else wrong? FYI, I already calle
