  1. OSUV - Can you put together any backgrounds w/ a 2006 Toyota RAV4 Limited in the Nautical Blue color?
  2. I see it mentioned in the posts here a few times that people are testing the bluetooth echo issue by setting the volume for the phone call output to come out of a particular speaker. Does this mean everytime a phone call comes in, you are going into your fade and balance settings to adjust to one speaker and then setting things back when done with the call? Is there a setting I am missing somewhere that allows you to direct the phone call output to come out of a single speaker, and when ending the call it goes back to what you set for sound output for music and such? Also, a little
  3. So is this a viable alternative to some us with phones (like my Verizon serviced Motorola E815) that won't transfer contacts at all? Can someone who's done this confirm: If you use a phone capable of transferring contacts, to load contacts into the Z1, than you can then dial those contacts using a different phone connected to the Z1 bluetooth other than the phone used to load the contacts? Or are the contacts loaded linked to the phone they were loaded from? I'm almost to the point of setting aside some time to just sit there in the car and hand enter all my contacts but that woul
  4. Heck yeah!! Who's an installer or dealer on here that can get us the CD, find out how we can get the CD, or post an image of the update so we can burn it and load it ourselves?
  5. Instead of starting a new topic I'll bring this one up again. Anybody out there ever successfully hack a Verizon based Motorola E815 to enable OBEX data transfers and be able to load your contacts into the Z1? I finished the hack per the Howardforums.com site, edited the seem as directed to enable the OBEX data transfers but still no go. I saw some other forum posts that mention a menu option for the contacts entered on the phone that should show something along the lines of "Send" to send the contact to the receiving device (Z1 in this case) but there is no option available lik
  6. Thanks so much for all your comments here DucatiBoy. They helped alot. I took the car in to the shop, and in less then half an hour I had a call on the cell that they were done and found the problem. The 2nd connector wire had been moved to a different pin in the harness, but not the right one. Once in the correct spot, all is well and my Nav is fully functional whether on the move or not. Now to go update the music db software to the newer release.... and to enjoy my Z1 of course!
  7. Sure - the place is Sound Sensations in Auburn, MA. http://www.thesoundsensation.com/ Now I went in this Saturday, and the guy I've been dealing with wasn't there, but one of the head installers was. He is admittedly in his words not as familiar with the AVIC's and the bypass as the guy I've been dealing with. He was the one who did the install, and swore up and down that he set up the bypass for 08/06 and newer units correctly, everything well grounded. Yet despite this, I still cannot utilize the POI and Address Search options while on the move. I think I offended him by coming back.
  8. Totally a personal choice based on whose programming you prefer. I've got Sirius and couldn't be happier. Big Stern junkie (been listening since 1987 growing up in NYC and missed him the last year. It's great to find out that the show is the same show, but more free in how they express themselves. Was afraid it would devolve into a childish show with the freedom Sirius offered, but happily I was proven wrong. That and NPR is great. I'm a talk radio junkie and have 10gigs of harddrive loaded with music on my Z1 so haven't gotten into the Sirius music channels yet.
  9. Yeah - This shop is good. Seems to have been the right choice. They know Toyotas well since they do a large amount of dealer installed Nav systems for new car purchases for Toyota and Lexus dealers in the area. So that's a plus considering I have an '06 RAV4. That and their customer service is terrific. My first stop in there, and it was 5:30 PM by the time we were done chatting about the work I wanted done, which is their closing time. A guy was there whose QLogic sub-box just came in and he was getting a sub for it. He was supposed to have been there earlier, but got stuck in traffic on
  10. You nailed it Ducatiboy. I get popup message #3, and when I am stopped the POI and Address Search options become available, and go greyed out when I start moving. That is what I thought was the problem, only one of the two required wires to ground were grounded. When I spoke to the shop he said they had grounded both, but I wonder if the second ground has become loose, or just not grounded well. Will find out Saturday and let you know the final outcome.
  11. Any of you graphics wizards and warriors out there got any nice Toyota backgrounds? Perfect world is one with a nice shot a 2006 Nautical Blue RAV4, or something with the RAV4 logo.
  12. Ducatiboy - Thanks so much. Yes, that is precisely what I was seeking. The installers are good and know their stuff, but these bypass methods are new to them for the AVIC units it seems. I was the first to direct them to your bypasses and to this forum. This gives me something specific to print out and provide to them to do the troubleshooting to ensure this is set up correctly. I think they did not ground the "second secret connector 2 wire" because when I first picked up my RAV after install, it was fine, but now, well after 100 miles were driven, I get the #3 pop-up listed and i
  13. Thanks Ducati. I had been to that page, and even printed it out for the installer to use, but didn't notice that you had listed what does and does not appear when the bypass is working correctly. Sorry for re-hashing old info.
  14. Hello All, First time poster, long time lurker. OK, not to long, just got a Z1 and the Bluetooth, Sirius and TV Tuner add-ons as a gift and had it all installed in my '06 RAV4. Looks and works amazing. Had the speakers replaced as well and damn what a difference!! The installer wired the 08/06 and later manufacture date bypass for me upon install, but some of the expected features that should be available are not, like POI searches and such. I also still get the pop-up warnings. Anyway, here's what I am looking for but am unable to find after various searches in these forums. If th
