There is functionality in 3D that you want but you go and figure it out. EDIT: While I was typing Catch was typing to and he worded it nicely.

There is another thread that had some updates on new models and software upgrades but that's all speculation at this point. It's not up to Pioneer to fix the 2D things because they use 3rd party navi software. If they didn't care they would not release updated they did.

Possibly. Like Avic, and many many other devices, they try to cram way too many features in which leads to a device that does many things with mediocrity. There is all kinds of sluggishness going on too.

Probably will work just fine. That's not that big of a release to change the functionality. Besides if it doesn't work just roll back to old version.

Good to hear. We were talking about this in another thread. While on the subject, did you retain same ignition behavior as stock where Avic stays on until you pull the key out?

There was a thread here few days ago where someone with similar vehicle said that their double din was not a true spec so some modification are needed.

Just a normal CD that you would burn on you computer. Same method as SD.

I believe you can load then with a CD as well if everything else fails.

That's kind of defeating the purpose of having the overall system sound... It's a moot argument for me as I've made my own blank sounds. I know it worked when I tried a while ago.

Use 3D. You can tilt the view so it's straight above, zoom out to your liking and if you turn off smart zoom it won't mess with your tilt setting.

No it can't. Yea it can. If you turn it down low enough with music playing and car running you won't be able to hear them. That'll affect Navi side, not all the dings that happen elsewhere. It does turn the volume down on all parts of the system. Turn the master volume down almost all the way then turn up the navi voice up to compensate. Sounds are still there but very faint. I have not tried to turn the master volume down completely though.

That doesn't sound normal. Has it been like this since you purchased it? Mine is perfectly clear even in direct sunlight when brightness is turned up.

Yea I get that with Avic and when I tried it with the OEM iPod connection in a loaner I got from Audi recently. Everything works OK though.

I never connected mine either and I have no issues what so ever. You are not going to be taking that car places where you would be losing GPS signal so you should be OK.

Don't expect much from the unit and you will be fine. A lot of people hate it because not all functions/features are perfect. With few mods you can make it way better than stock.

^ are you sure you've done it correctly? Double check everything you've done then check again.
