Nashville, TN is fully green on the coverage map - even the outlying areas.. Service really stinks though - from the outlying areas to the heart of the city. When i called, they said it might be clouds! Oh, it was beautiful that day.

hmmmm just noticed it said "Map Update" - that might cast a shadow on 3.0 since he just referred to the July update as a map update...

They aren't in the business of losing money. I'd imagine they would use something simliar to the MSNDirect activation code but obviously I don't know. There was certainly sharing of D-series updates, but who knows. I'd also like to sit back and make sure all the mods still work before updating to new maps when my old one work pretty well.

I bought mine off eBay and had a local pro install mine - he sells Kenwoods and tried to talk me out of the F90BT. He later admitted how impressed he was with the F90BT.

I did the very same thing on my first install. You get the info on the screen fine and can control the iPod, but no sound. I know this isn't what you want to hear but I would HIGHLY recommend opening back up and fixing it properly. I am sooo glad that I did - the iPod control is one of my favorite features. Besides you bought an all-in-one so you wouldn't have all of those external wires everywhere

Mine actually arrives today, I ordered two - so as not to make the wife jealous of my knob! BTW, I showed to a couple of guys here in my (small) hometown who I converted to AVIC's - they now have "Knob-Envy" and will likely be your customers soon.

Any opinions on whether this works the same/better/worse than the original when pushing in? I get alot of mistakes when trying to get VC with the original.

I took a 2 GB SD card, put the boot files on it and copy/pasted the entire flash disk on it and have a copy on my computer. It is like 1.7gb or so, but not bigger than 2 gb - or it wouldn't have fit.

I had the EXACT same problem. Turns out the guy never connected the RCA's on the other end of the iPod cable. The iPod was connected and showed everything on the AVIC but no sound. Connecting it fixed it

Did it always do this (out of the box) or did you make modes? If so, which ones?

I'm only posting here becuase the mods posted here represent the bulk of the mods made on my f90. Has anyone notices a slower response to key presses since doing these (or other) mods? Mine has changed considerably particularly in the first few minutes of booting up. After that it is much better. The other weirdness is the phone interface. Music starting up after hanging up has gotten longer and, I may be wrong about this one, but I was pretty sure my iPod playback paused for a phone call then resumed where I left off...now it mutes but continues to play. I may reflash to orginal

Specifically where is this file? I looked in the .ui folder and a few other places and didn't see anyhting that resembled SYS,TXT...

Is there an area that dictates steering wheel control that can be altered? I would love to be able to call up voice command using steering wheel controls. As an alternative, would it be possible to place a button for voice control on the map screen? I always seem to zoom in on the map when trying to pull up voice command using the knob.

Thanks Boris. I searched both 'FireFly' (produced only one other instance of the use of the word) and 'syntax' and no such thread came up. I will continue to look. I've been googling terms as I need to (just figured out glowsize that way) and I'm learning that way but it is certainly slower than having a syntax FAQ thread - complete or not.
