  1. Sure. Just tinker with it. Because in a last resort case, you can always format and start over. Just see how it goes. It might work, it might not.
  2. stay on 3.0, follow this: http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=27590&p=197154#p197154
  3. try reinstalling everything. http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=27590&p=197154#p197154
  4. http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=27590&p=197154#p197154 This is my guide dealing with this problem...i had to upgrade because of this. If you have 2.0 currently you might love that it crashed because 3.0 is soooo much nicer and more responsive. Best of luck.
  5. ddonnick17 check for upgrade files here: http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=24888
  6. http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=27590 I had the same problem on the 2.0 software. Something on the WinCE side got corrupted and it went in a continuous cycle. It is fixable, at least for me. It takes tinkering...but you will get it. Format your "harddrive" to start and upgrade the windows CE files. You'll be fine, Avic and all! -Hagan92
  7. You will need to stay on 3.0+ I had this issue with 2.0 and had to upgrade. You might need to clear your "harddrive", search the forum on how to format it. Here is my guide. I hope it helps http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=27590 -hagan92
  8. SFYellow, Sorry. I havent heard of your problem. I don't know what could've happened. If you are running into trouble, format the "harddrive" of the Avic (there's directions on here somewhere) and start over. To me, updating these things are more trouble then you could imagine...you have to pray that luck is on your side when you do it! astromanluca, 3.01 is just some stability stuff, supposedly makes updating more stable in the future, fixes some iPod issues...nothing major. But, if you are still running 2.0 on your Avic, upgrade. You will be amazed. haha, Also...the inte
  9. Here is a toyota one for all of you...I hope you like it.
  10. This website does not condone piracy. Although I do feel like Pioneer shafted the Avic F-series only after a couple of months before coming out with a new model, buying the update would be the best thing to do. If that doesn't work, like it didn't for alot of people, then I wouldn't feel bad about trying the "unofficial" update. 1. The "unofficial" version was made for those people who bought the "official" update and it failed while installing. (correct me if i'm wrong) 2.There are no differences between the "unofficial" and "official" versions that you will be able to tell, and
  11. You have the EXACT same problem that I had before I upgraded (my reason for upgrading). I know for a fact that this is testmode 2.3 http://avic411.com/forum/download/file.php?id=7376. Make sure that you extract the folders to the root of your SD card. I am about 95% sure that your problem is software based and can be fixed following the tutorial that is here http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=25817, that I have listed in my first post. (Credit to dragon24) I believe that your WinCE files are corrupt, and upgrading is your best bet because you can find all of the files neede
  12. yes, you should be fine. Probably don't need a pw or key or anything, just extract the folder to the root of your sd card, put it in your system and see what happens. Check out my post here http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=27590. It deals with upgrading from the alternate 3.0 but the process should still be the same. I recommend keeping it up to date, for example I use my iPod with my Avic F700 all the time, and "problems with the alphabetical order" would have driven me crazy. Its up to you to update. Check my other post, either way you should be fine.
  13. Glad to hear that it worked for you too! The only reason I updated was because my Avic bricked itself and wouldn't boot, came to this great forum looking for answers and got it updated to 3.01...I guess that turned a bad situation into a good one. I've been running this now for 2 days with no major problems to report. If anyone needs help with some issue like this, feel free to let me know...ill try my best. -Hagan
  14. Hello, Here is how to update to 3.01...at least this is what I did, and it is working great so far! I hope it works for you too... 1. I followed this post exactly: http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=25817 Except you dont need 3 SD cards...I used two. Updated the WINCEIMG file and then cleared the SD and put TestMode 2.3 on it. On the 2nd SD i put the x910 Backup FIles. I don't know if this step is necessary for you guys that got to 3.0 another way, feel free to continue...you might get stuck in boot and have to come back and do this first post...It took me more than one
  15. This is the boot screen I plan on using with my Fseries in my 4runner, I modded someone elses on here (thanks!) and have VERY basic photoshop skills, so I hope you like it!
  16. I modified one I found on here...I have VERY LITTLE photoshop skills, so I hope you like...this is what I'm gonna use in my 4Runner with my avic FSeries.
  17. and kd6icz, I think your on to something. I downloaded that .PDF and to me it looks like you can add drivers...just manually. The .PDF also shows some sort of internet browser that can be installed to the device...This would be nice. Anyone interested in trying this?? -Hagan
  18. I didn't mean sit and play flash games all day, but if you needed to look something up, the Avic would be there to do so. I also have an iPhone 3G, but to me, this would still be pretty cool if we could get it to a practical stage, which probably can't or won't happen. I also figured that it would be a little harder than what I was hoping...but I was still hoping. I just think that now that we have direct access to the WinCE OS, there is HUGE potential and this would just be a cool experiment. Yeah, I guess my iPhone works fine, but the thought of having not just a stereo, but something t
  19. Well I dont know if its a matter of finding a browser (something like Opera or one of Firefox's projects would work) and IE 6 would work if we could get our hands on that copy since it didnt come bundled with our version of WinCE. I think the problem lies in how the system is set up. I don't know if we were to install something if it would stay installed. I don't know if that really makes since, but it seems like anything that we change in WinCE reverts back to factory settings after you restart your car. Of course I don't know this for sure, but I will look into it tomorrow...and if that
  20. I just tried it with a WUSB54G USB WiFi thing from Linksys. I can confirm that the adapter gets power, but winCE doesn't have drivers for it or a browser. I think with all the people on this site, this could defentally work. There are some drivers out there for some other USB WiFi adaptors, but I dont have the time to try right now. Also, I had the original CD from my USB adaptor, which I inserted to see what would happen...just a long shot...It just played a sound from my speakers like it wanted to eat my CD, it was kinda funny actually. The thing that would hold this back the most is tha
  21. Hey, This idea sounds pretty practical, and i'm suprized you havent gotten an answer by anyone yet. I would "assume" that this would work just fine, but you know a WiFi SD card would probably work just as well and be more concealed. Also, I was wondering if a 4 port USB hub would work? Like plug it into the pioneer system then have 3 extra ports to plug more stuff in? It also sounds practical in the WindowsCE environment. After booting into testmode, I dont remember if it came with a browser (IE6) or not. I dont think it did, but if you could get WiFi working with either the USB or S
  22. Hey, does your system have the updated 2.0 firmware from pioneer? And if it does...make sure you also applied the bluetooth update and reset the system. -Hagan
