  1. I have a F90BT also. I did update to the latest CE as described in the first port. I reverted back to 2.0 for the moment since i need to use the GPS for a roadtrip this weekend. But i will try it again soon. As for the bluetooth, it does not appear to require you re-pair everytime you start. But the BT stack does look flaky. It did not detect the adapter couple of times at boot. I had to restart for it to detect it again.
  2. Ryar, Thanks for you effort on this. I installed the updates Avicnet 21. Everything went well, except my parking brake bypass no longer works. M eaning, that i need to have the parking brake on before i can make changes to settings, play dvd etc. I checked the pioneer.ini file in data.zip and it has a parking brake speed value of 256. parking_break_speed=256.0 So that is not the issue. Is there another setting i can change somewhere that will enable this? This used to work with Avicnet 2.0 Also, i have a bluetooth ELM OBD adapter. I am going to try that out tonight. Edit
  3. I am not sure if this has been posted before. But here is a fix for TP2 not allowing you to answer calls Use any registry editior on the phone and modify the HandsFree plug-in 1. Go to HKLM\Software\WIDCOMM\Plugin\HandsFree 2. Change SupportedFeatures value to 45 (default is 1135) 3. Restart the device by holding power button (not the reset button behind battery cover) This fixed the issue for me. I have a f90bt
  4. We really need the "APL2" folder from x910.
  5. Thanks, Just upgraded my F90BT and works like a charm. There is a noticable improvement navigating through the system. All the button presses (both hardware and onscreen) are responding much faster. Thanks M Moogle and others that posted the details on how to upgrade.
  6. Now, does the ol 8.0 version of Igo continues to work after this update? Thanks
  7. Sorry, I have not been able to spend much time. I think here is where i left off. 1. SD Wifi card does work inthe Avic 2. You need to copy the driver files posted earlier in the thread. 3. I tried to copy the Opera browser to the flash drive and run it from there. But i could not make it use the network connection. I will give it a shot once i get 30 update installed. But currently this is on hold due to time crunch.
  8. How does the picture quality look on the monitor with the USB TV converter? Is text readable? I was on the same path and was planning on putting "Ride Runner" front end on it. My F90 is good for many purposes but i just want to add to the functionality with a carpc. I had two options for control 1. BT Mouse/Keyboard 2. Media Center Remote What are you using for input?
  9. @kd6icz That pdf seem to be for including the driver as part of the image when building in platform builder. However, it looks like all you have to do is 1. Boot the avic to test mode 2. copy the two dlls to windows folder (listed in 1st page of the pdf) 3. Import the reg file into avic 4. Then plug the ethernet adapter into the usb socket. As mentioned earlier, the usb socket is typically in client mode (instead of host mode). But hopefully avic detects the card and switches it to be the right mode. I used regedit from mioautorun.zip file from gpspassion to import reg f
  10. sorry, I did not get to spend much time with this in the last few days. the wifi card works in connecting to a wifi network and aquires an ip address. I tried opera but could not get the internet going yet. I think there are some internet connection settings that need to be made to make the internet work.
  11. SD wifi does not work any different than the USB wifi. It aquires the IP the same way from DHCP as an USB wifi card would do. I eventually got SD wifi card to connect to an access point without any issues. USb wifi is slightly more complicated in this device since we would have to deal with USB Host Mode. Plus USB will also prevent us from using an Ipod. Edit: I missed the "wired" part. Yes wired would eliminate the need to configure and will give you better bandwidth. I guess, One step at a time
  12. I was able to successfully connect to my phone (Touch Diamond) via WMWifiRouter running on the phone. So technically i have internet access on the phone. Now it is time to find some utlities to test internet access. I do see data flowing between the avic and the phone. Does any one have standalone browser suggestions.
  13. success, i am able to get the card working in avic. I am having some trouble associating with my wifi network at the moment. but it is able to scan and show all wifi networks nearby.
  14. Thanks for the links. I downloaded the mioautorun package from gpspassion. And it seems to have a regedit.exe that is used on the windows CE devices. I will try to use that this evening.
  15. Is there any way to import a whole reg file into registry on the avic manually? I tried to use the PHM registry editor, but the import option is greyed out and double-clicking the file does not seem to apply it to registry. I would like to test the reg file before i create a mortscript for it.
  16. I just realized that it is only test mode that makes the system loose all settings. Also found mortscript and reading through it. Will post back with my test results.
  17. Here are the instructions so far. Dont try to use these yet. I have not tested them yet. But attaching the files for reference. Based on what others have been using on gpspassion to get this card working in a Windows CE device. 1) download and unzip Wlan.rar, copy Wlan folder to flash disk. 2) import wlan.reg and copy all files in win folder to windows of Avic 3) reboot Avic 3) plug in wifi card, wait for 5 sec before start Wlan.exe I need to script the file and registry copy part.
  18. got the card. Trying to get WLAn driver installed. It requires a reboot. We already know that Avic looses everything on the main disk after a reboot. How do i use MortScript? Is there a link that someone can point me to. I have a bunch of files that are needed to be copied to Windows folder and also some registry keys that need to be added.
  19. @ziplocbodybag , I did attempt to use Internet sharing and could not get it work with Avic. I use Internet sharing via bluetooth or USB to tether my touch diamond and my laptop almost every day. It appears that Avic is controlling the type of devices that can be connected the USB port. Only USB mass storage seems to be active. Not sure how the ipod is controlled via that port. Internet sharing utility primarily uses "RNDIS Internet Shaing". It requires a RNDIS Internet Sharing driver to be installed on a Windows CE device for it to work. It could be a driver issue, but it almost appea
  20. Awesome, thanks for the video review
  21. Awesome, i ordered a SD-820. Once it gets here i can looks at the mioautorun process and add the appropriate stuff for wifi. Hopefully the SDIO driver is already there.
  22. I just wanted to bring the information i posted about internet access into a new thread since it. (I pasted the information below since it is off-topic from the original post of that thread) Current Status: A SDW-820 Wireless card is on order. I will update this thread once i recieve it. This card seems to work with other standalone GPS with Windows CE special driver. **************Pasted from the other thread************************ It appears that the bluetooth device is not a device installed on the windows CE side. It appears to be part of the other circuit board which contai
  23. Great work Carver. I think work like this will lead us to some serious mods beyond the UI mods we see today. Hopefully we get internet working on this thing on some day. The CE image they put on this device is fairly limited. And i also noticed that the unit looses all customizations and changes made to the CE os every time it is rebooted. Only the changes persisted on the flash disk stay. If i add a file to the Windows folder, it will be gone by next reboot. The behaviour is similar to old style pocket PCs. I am hoping that one day we could figure out a way to get USB Wifi or SD
  24. It appears that the bluetooth device is not a device installed on the windows CE side. It appears to be part of the other circuit board which contains the amp, fm, dvd etc. On the windows CE side, they just seem to have the control software installed and it seems to control the bluetooth module with special pioneer APIs. So what this really means is that there is no way to use this bluetooth connection for windows CE internet access even after installing a 3rd party bluetooth stack or software. Now we still have two other means to get internet going. 1. Using a SDIO wireless card
  25. Also, There is a USB select switch applet in the control panel. It seems to allow one to switch the USB mode. I tried to change the mode but could not notice any difference. One of the options in there is "RNDIS" which would really work with "Internet Sharing" in windows mobile phones. But when i connected my HTC diamond to it and then change the mode it does not appear to talk to the phone. I could not find much info on USB select switch when i googled it.
