  1. I'm trying to accomplish the comparatively simple task of viewing still photos and/or video on my F90BT screen. Just as one can do with digital cameras viewing photos/video on a TV screen at home, and using the same operational model: 0) turn on the F90BT, wait for startup/boot to complete 1) make sure AV2 is set to video 2) plug the camera/camcorder into the AV2 input on the front of the unit 3) turn on the camera/camcorder 4) use the controls on the camera/camcorder to either flip through still photos, play video, etc. There is no file transfer taking place here, it is the same c
  2. it look like it may work, but I'd compare it to Pioneer's own one - there are closeup pictures of it on Pioneers website at http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... es/CD-RM10 Are you hooking up a video game console?
  3. AM coverage and reception for me is spotty at best, and seems to be getting worse over the years in every car I own - agree that is largely the nature of the beast.
  4. Everyone's experiences are subject to their own interpretation and preferences. As a recent F90BT owner, I offer the following: -If I want to watch video, I stick in a DVD - works great -Nav features are terrific -MSN Direct works in my area and while it's not a huge bonus, it's a nice plus -My unit has never rebooted -Start times are reasonable...music plays off my iPod in about 20 seconds or less, full features another 20 seconds after that -Screen display and overal UI is better than the other video head units IMO -Price is reasonable: I would've paid alot more than what I got the
  5. I did indeed...it recognized the source to the degree that I could hear the audio track of a short video clip I captured on my digital camera, but the screen was dark with no pictures. I don't know where else to turn, and despite the runaway success of digital cameras, cell-phone cameras, and digital camcorders, the subject seems of little interest to those on this forum - I can't get anyone to comment, or even say they've tried, despite this being a popular feature promoted the manufacturer's of other video enabled head units. Sigh.
  6. update as of 1/30/09 - tried my digital camera using my camcorder TV-connection RCA cable, no luck. I am having a hard time understanding why Pioneer suggests using their cable (CD-RM10) to connect digicams and the like, when the female RCA connectors that the CD-RM10 comes with won't plug directly into any digital camera or camcorder that I know of.
  7. you're right - my bad. I have posted a similar question on the correct forum...
  8. thanks Catch Me - hard to believe the F90BT wouldn't support JPEG viewing, but I didn't see in the detail appendices list of support formats either so maybe that's just something they decided to support. Too bad - I've seen much lower-end, less full-featured heads that offer easy input for DV and cameras, and it's nice feature. I'll keep pursuing it, and hopefully some others will post with their results.
  9. thanks - I had seen pg.18, but it's description wasn't much help. Also, the picture of the Pioneer cable shows that it has female RCA connectors at the ends, which won't work for digital cameras without an adapter. A close look at one of the cables that came with my camcorder shows that it looks to be a match for CD-RM10, but with male adapters at the RCA ends. Interestingly, the CD-RM10 cable doesn't match the colors shown on pg.18 (the Pioneer cable has all black rings, which I'm sure are correct, but don't match the colors specified on the various rings.
  10. Presuming the AV2 input jack is the way to do this, there are almost no posts on this subject and nothing in the manual that specifically refers to digital cameras or camcorders. Using the cable that connects my digital camera to my TV at home, I had no luck attempting to display the pictures on my digital camera, on my F90BT. There is a diagram of the connector cable on pg.18 of the installation manual, but neither of two connector cables that came with my camera/camcorder are colored the same way the manual illustrates (all my rings are yellow). I may need to buy the Pioneer cable o
  11. thank you Diane, much appreciated. Did not find that anywhere in the manual, but perhaps it is there somewhere
  12. Not much posted on this subject that I could find, and nothing specific in the manual either. Is connecting a digital camcorder or camera to the F90BT as simple as taking the same cable that I use to display camera/camcorder images on my TV at home and plugging it into the AVIC AV input outlet? I tried to that with my Canon SD650 and got nowhere, though when I took the SD card out of the camera and fed it directly to the AVIC, it recognized the card, and played the audio of one of my movie files, but would not display any digital pictures. I tried hooking my digital camera up to t
  13. I've had no trouble with my new LG Dare and the F90BT. I know this is an old thread and probably resolved, but what the hey
  14. I couldn't agree more - a mute button should've been included, and I can't find a way to "set" the large button to mute rather than go to voice command.
  15. I've noticed that I sometimes have a long-ish delay when hanging up the phone, and the F90BT returning control to the screen input...it seems to think the phone is either still in use, or the other party hasn't hung up, or whatever. Doesn't happen all the time, but enough to be annoying. I'll try hanging up with the button push-in rather than the red icon and see if that helps. I sometimes notice other general sluggish response to screen input.
