  1. I didn't use ND-G500, so I'm not sure the AMP Control, but I guess it is used to let the ND-G500 know it is time to mute the sound from Car Stereo, such as time for Bluetooth phone or navi guidance. Most likely this is specific for ND-G500, so I doubt you can use it to control your OEM car AMP. For the power line, the yellow (+12v always on) line seems only used for MSN Direct circuit in the cradle, so that it still able to receive MSN Direct info even the car is off. If you are not using the ND-G500, you can tap the yellow line to any +12v always on in the car. The Black (+5v ACC) li
  2. Since I parked my car on street overnight, I have to remove the F500BT from the cradle everyday, and thats one of the main reason I choose F500BT instead of 700/900. It is really easy for the removing/placing the unit with the cradle, but the IPod cable is the problem. With the IPod cable, I got to remove two extra plugs everytime I remove the unit from cradle, and then reconnect the two plugs again when I put the unit back to the cradle. So, here is my solution.... I started with buying the plugs and jacks (can't found those in local retail store, and they are expensive with the s
  3. Before the software bypass, my F500BT cannot play video if it is powered by the big fat cable connected to the cradle. Everything works fine after I did the bypass. If you are using the battery, or just power the F500BT with the 5v input on the left side of the unit, it works no matter you bypass it or not.
  4. iGo is not developed by Pioneer. If 3.0 is as major as upgrading the iGo, you probably need to pay for it instead of a free upgrade. Same case for new map.
  5. You will need to give it a try, and please let us know whether this work or not. There are a couple things may make this not working: 1. The Video out may not compatible with new Ipod. 2. The charging may not compatible with new Ipod. 3. The dock may not support control (a.k.a. "This accessory is not supported...")
  6. Make sure you don't turn your key to ON, WAIT, then START. If you turn you key from OFF to START directly, you will be ok. It seems the F500BT is designed to monitor the power change (only when you use the fat cable with the cradle), to wake up the unit when power change from off to on, and sleep the unit when power from on to off. The logic is correct, but the implementation is faulty. Seems during the wake up process, if power drop (ACC will be off for a moment when you starting the engine), the unit will shut itself off (power off, not sleep), which trigger a reboot when you power up the un
  7. I'm thinking on make the IPod cable dockable with the F500 cradle, by making something like this: F500BT AV/USB jacks -------> Metal contact pads at the back of battery cover -> Metal contact pads at the front left side of the cradle ---> IPod Touch Basically the idea is cutting the CD-IU200VM cable in the middle, then connect them again with some metal pads like the one used for connecting the cradle and the F500. I don't really want to cut the original cable since it is kind of expansive (almost $50), just to try whether the concept works or not, so I brought a cheap (ab
  8. Arrr!!!! How can this thing go so cheap! I paid the same price for just the F500BT and the IPod cable less than one month ago. Be honest, I don't really see there is any serious fault in F500BT design, which require people selling that at such unreasonable low price in order to get rid of it.
  9. I really hope that one day we can have a ROM image which included a wince.nls and registry enteries with international font support.
  10. Should be ok. You may need a ground loop isolator to elminate the noise caused by ground loop, if you going to power the F500BT by the cigarette socket.
  11. I see.... if you want to listen to radio too, then you will need the ND-G500. But for everything else, it doesn't matter you use the ND-G500 or just Aux In. When using the Aux In on you car, you are going to connect the Aux In to the Pre-Out Jack from the Big Fat F500BT Cable, the exact same jack which you going to use to connect to the ND-G500. Power is same, which you are going to connect the cigarette adapter output to the power jack at the end of that big fat cable, not to the F500BT directly. So, you will going to have cables on the dash anyway, as long as you have the F500BT on d
  12. What do I need to change in order to get this thing work with F500BT? The F500BT has a 5V (3A max) power input from a DC-DC cigarette adapter. I'm think about hard wire the ACC to a power supply like this http://store.mp3car.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=PWR%2D022&Show=ExtInfo to get rid of the cigarette adapter, and I would like to also remove the reset problem during engine start (yes, F500BT also got reset problem when ACC drop during engine start, even it come with internal battery).
  13. Why mess with the factory stereo? Does your Highlander come with Aux In jack? If so, just plug the output from F500BT to the jack and you all set.
  14. I guess the Arrow there means "Page Up" and "Page Down", is there anything in Apple for that purpose? Probably << and >> is the most common one. Thanks for the hard work and I'm really looking forward for the complete theme from you.
  15. I would say the gps work pretty well, it got the signal almost in no time.
