  1. this was AWESOME, my nextel I880 wont transfer any contacts so i used this software to modify a coworkers list and now i have contacts and voice dial
  2. dash kit - scosche GM1590AB wire harness option 1 - scosche DCGM09B retains door chime and RAP(non Bose, non OnStar) wire harness option 2 - scosche DCGMOS2B11 retains door chime and RAP (non Bose w/ OnStar) wire harness option 3 - metra 70-2003 no door chimes, no OnStar, no RAP, and you will need to run your own acc wire antenna adapter - metra 40-GM10 RAP = Retained Accesory Power, radio stays on for ten minutes or until the door is opened
  3. the HD tuner does not get the same reception as the standerd tuner, i have installed quite a few pioneer hd tuners and we use splitters every time, there have been plenty of times a customer has not been able to tune in a station on the hd tuner but it was able to be tuned in on the standerd tuner
  4. i have the upgraded pioneer headunit which is double din You mean the Pioneer 6-disc changer with rear seat controls? Yep. That's what I have (had, its' been replaced with the Pioneer 7000bt). The best way to check is go to Crutchfield and see what install dash kits are available for the '02 Sport Trac. I know when I was replacing my 6-disc unit that none of the double din aftermarket nav systems would fit. Just food for thought. big surprize that crutchfield is wrong again, crutchfield also says that a double din wont fit in my LS, but the kit that i bought from scosche
  5. i just got off the phone with pac's tech support, they told me it will work fine with the SWI-PS, the rear audio controller acts just like the steering wheel controlls, it just uses a different wire than normal. the guy said to connect the SWI-PS's orange wire to the ford 20 pin harness, pin 6 (blue/pink) then connect pin 5 (blue/black) to the same acc wire as the red wire from the SWI-PS
  6. more info needed. make, model, year, factory audio options...
  7. you will need a dash kit (scosche FD1330B) and a wire harness (Metra 70-1771) with out sub or (Metra 70-5519) with factory sub. explorers are very easy, take out the factory radio, take off the dash bezel, assemble the dash kit around the AVIC and into the dash bezel, wire up the harness (if you have the factory sub, you will need to place a 1450 ohm resistor in line with the remote amp turn on wire so you dont get a "pop" when the radio turns on), run you mic and gps antenna and put it all back together.
  8. same exact problem, the only time i get the message is in the morning (almost every morning) when i remote start my car while it is in my garage (yes, the door is open) the metal door is not over the antenna, the reception is fine and the XM also gets good reception. this is the only time i get the message
  9. +1 you have the wrond cable, make sure you get the COMPOSITE VIDEO
  10. just add a 1450 Ohm resistor inline with the remote turn on wire (common with most ford premium sound systems)
  11. if you really need it, you could always wire in a small pushbutton switch to the mute wire and mount the switch somewhere like the dash kit
  12. to check gps signal, turn unit on, press SETTINGS button, press NAVI SETTINGS, then press GPS AND TIME SETTINGS.
  13. go in to the settings menu and look for "ANT CONT" and change it from radio to power, if that fixes your problem, then you hooked up the pioneer power antenna wire to the car's amp turn on wire (a lot of wire harness's have a blue wire for amp turn on instead of blue/white. the reason there should not be a problem with hooking it up to a Bose system with 2ohm speakers is because with almost every factory bose system, there is a seperate amp (or multiple amps, usually 1 big system amp or 1 small amp on every speaker) so the HU itself doesnt "see" the 2Ohm load
  14. you can put a piece of metal over the dash where the antenna is
  15. if you want to put the xm antenna in side, i always recomend using a xm home antenna, they are a little bit larger and they have a lot less drop out note: some area's have a lot more terrestial repeaters than others, they will not have as many problems with drop outs when the antenna's are under things as much as places that are out in the middle of nowhere that dont have any terrestial repeaters and rely on the sats alone
  16. i have mine stuck right on the top of the head unit under the dashboard(there is no metal above the radio, just plastic vents) and it has great reception, and no one can see it and ask, "what the hell is that on your dash?"
  17. yeh sorry, it is the amp turn on wire (blue/white) i forgot a step... move the blue w/ white stripe wire over to the bypass spot, THEN in the AV settings menu turn Ant Control to power instead of radio (then the radio will power up that wire any time the system turns on)and then use the antenna wire as your new amp turn on wire
  18. 1 yes dump the ipod2car and get either the pioneer CD-IU230v or the apple cable with a dock connector on one side and usb + audio and video RCA's on the other side, yes back of the HU 2 if you used the harness for the D1 it will work for the F700bt, all the audio connections will be the same (the harnesses may be different) 3 yes 4 what year vette? (just curious)
  19. i'm an installer in Ann Arbor, and we just put a 700bt in my part-timer's 04 trailblazer last month, the cutting behind the radio just frees up some room for the harness module and all the cables, dont be afraid to hop in there and just remove a little plastic, just dont cut through any wires . you shouldn't have to go to the steering column for the swips, the wire should be at one of the radio harnesses
  20. either do the software mod or use the power antenna wire (blue wire, same harness) to do the bypass, since the trailblazers dont have a power antenna.
  21. You do realize that this is a Lincoln LS, a car, not a truck? The AVIC will work even better with the VSS connected. There is no reason not to on this car as the signal is easy to get to. I happen to have an 04 LS and an 06 LS, I do know what I am talking about. you think the ls is the same as the fusion? are they not the same body??? cuse I cant find my VSS anywhere.. they say that I need some sort of CANbus adapter....anyways.. let me know thanks the Fusion and the Lincoln Zepher (or MKZ) are both built off of the mazda 6 platform, they have nothing in common with the LS. i
  22. most of the remotes i have had through the years have ended up on ebay. since my right hand still works, i think they are useless, unless however you are leaning too far back to reach the radio, then you just need to unrecline your seat a little
  23. there is your problem, the avic f's dont just use the usb cable, pioneer and apple both make a special cable that has usb, audio, and video on one end and a 30 pin dock connector on the other, the avic's use the usb to controll the ipod and use the av plugs to deliver the sound and video
  24. thanks JOEGR, the RAP wire(Retained Accesory Power), and the VSS wire worked perfectly, i actually ran my back up cammera the day before my 900bt came in, so i grabbed the reverse wire at the reverse light on the trunk lid (black with a red stripe, negitive trigger) since i had to take it apart to run the cable from the camera to the front anyway. and like always, you are dead acurate.
  25. there is an adapter made by peripheral that plugs into the Pbus connector and gives you a set of RCA's for audio input, does any body know if there is a reason this would not work
