  1. Confirmed working with LG Dare (Verizon). Sprint branding does not matter. As others have pointed out sound quality is relatively poor, easily below satellite and analog FM in my opinion (tested with 160kbps MP3). I was somewhat surprised by the poor audio quality. Before my F700 I had the Pioneer FHP-8000BT with native bluetooth stereo streaming. Audio quality was very respectable on that deck. [Why Pioneer opted to exclude native A2DP from the F-series I don't understand.] Highest and best use seems to be for iPhone users who wirelessly download blogs or other talk programming and
  2. Re-synced with Winamp and artwork now displays on my F700. I'll have to say goodbye to the Monkey until this known limitation is fixed.
  3. Making the jump to iPod is highly recommended. External HDD's are a hit and miss afair. I had a 40GB 2.5" drive that worked fine in by 8000BT (non touch screen) but my F700 would not recognize it, even with external power. After reading about the iPod features (quick boot times, album artwork, easier navigation, etc.) I recently bought an iPod Classic and haven't regretted it.
  4. I read the MM thread and it doesn't sound like they've made much progress. If you find a fix let us know. I'm jumping on the iPod bandwagon for my F700. Long time user of MM, so want to use it for synching if possible. Of course I want album art on my F700 too!
  5. I own an 07 Mustang with Shaker 500. I followed the instructions located at http://forums.stangnet.com/736028-pioneer-avic-d3-installation-write-up.html. It's for the D3 but the wiring is the same. I first installed the FH-P800BT and have recently upgraded to the F700. I used the Metra # 70-5521 harness since the PAC harness was not available at the time. I've read that the PAC harness is easier and has the 5V fix built in. It's significantly more expensive of course. To your questions: Delay Feature: Will work fine. The delay is controlled in the power circuitry and is not a fu
  6. Scotty it's people like you that give forums a bad name and cause flame wars. Anonymity doesn't allow you to presume everyone else is ignorant. But in this case I'll bite. I know my music (or as you say "ur music"). Quiz: You're on track #8 of Chinese Democracy--or any new album--what's the name of the track? Better yet what's the name of track #9? What's the name of song #4 in your playlist named "Best of Weird Al Yankovic Vol 6"? I'm simply suggesting that in list mode the current track be highlighted in some way. Then at 75mph in heavy traffic a simple glance shows a user e
  7. Just ordered the smooth stainless. Thanks Thomas, you are the King.
  8. The manual says 8GB I think but I'm using a 16GB SDHC card without any problem. A little slow to load with 13GB of music but that was expected. I've seen other postings where people are using a 32GB card. It seems with USB and SD it's kind of pot luck. I was using a 40GB 2.5" USB hard drive on my previous Pioneer HU but it doesn't work on the F700, even with external power. Go figure. Time for an Ipod.
  9. Another: Just for clarity I think you mean detail mode when the song is shown individually on the left side. List mode is the scroll list. I'm specifically referring to the scroll list. When using my SD card I find myself leaving it on the scroll list. At a glance I can see what's next or what other track can be quickly selected. I'd just like the current song to be more visually obvious in the scroll list.
  10. I wanted to bring these handy tools to everyone's attention. They are particularly useful for large USB/SD folder trees. The problem is that Pioneer HU's (and probably others) do not assign folder numbers alphabetically; instead, the HU assigns the folder number based on the order each folder was added to the drive. The effect was particularly annoying in my old FHP-8000BT that did not have WinCE or a large touch screen. In a WinCE environment the HU does follow normal alpha rules in list mode. That's a big improvement and another reason I’m happy with my upgrade decision to an F7
  11. Yes the track name is listed among 7 or 8 other tracks (remember I'm talking about list mode, not detail mode). The currently playing track is only shown at the top as folder number and file number. I would like to see the current track name also highlighted in the list. This could simply be a different font color, say red. Or different background color. Visually this would be much easier to see what's playing at a glance.
  12. Was curious if anyone has investigated the ability to highlight the current track playing (when in list mode?) This would be a nice visual reference rather than matching up track number to the track list. I don't mind researching but any idea which file to start with? Thanks
  13. I'm a new F700 owner, having just upgraded from the FH-P8000BT. The P8000 was a nice unit but the feature set overwhelmed the 3 line display. Much thanks to everyone on avic411 for their efforts and postings. I was able to handle the hardware bypass and a couple of mods without incident. I started with the splash screen, nav mute button and updated XM icons and will do more as time permits. As compared to the P8000 the F700 wins hands down. Only a few minor shortcomings I've noticed so far, such as my 40GB HDD isn't recognized (even with external power), no bluetooth audio profile, an
  14. Just upgraded from FH-P8000BT to the F700. I used a 2.5" 40GB HDD on the P8000 and it worked fine without external power. About 20GB songs and it loaded in ~30 seconds. The F700 doesn't see the drive at all, even with external power (using enclosure's supplied Y cable to cig lighter adapter). A little frustrating. Guess I'll either try another HDD, go with a large SD card, or break down and join IPOD nation I suppose with video playback on the F700 the IPOD makes some sense....
  15. Never mind on the reverse gear signal wire. I found other posts that said it isn't necessary without a backup camera.
  16. OneBad: Not sure if you completed install but I can help with the ILL wire if necessary. PM me. I went through the same question while installing the FH-P8000BT. Nice unit but the 3-line UI is not very functional for its multiple features. I'm new to the AVIC board and will be installing my F700BT tomorrow. Besides the hardware bypass and a couple of extra wires I'm expecting it to go smoothly. One question: Where are Mustang owners tapping the purple reverse gear signal wire? Or without a backup camera is it even necessary? I can't imagine that backing out of my driveway is
