  1. An update... Got my unit back from Pioneer in Ohio last night. Guess what? That's right, IT'S STILL NOT FIXED! I still have the exact same problems I had before. Apparently the only thing they did when they had it at their repair center was to reload the 2.0 software. Not sure how this is supposed to fix the issue but that's what they did. So now, not only does the iPod STILL not show as an Audio source but often when i want to change a setting and press Settings, I get an error message that states something to the effect that the Settings Program has performed an illegal operation
  2. ARGGGHHH..... Just spoke with Pioneer and again, have to send in the unit. Said that it should take about a month to get it back. Oh there are so many words I would like to type right now and the little evil Smilies don't cut it. Oh yea, I mentioned to my service guy this forum and it looks like we all have a reputation as hackers. He said that most of the people on this forum "have created their own issues because they hack the OS". Looks like Pioneer is going to be blind to all the pain posted on here instead of being a responsible manufacturer and actually participating in an op
  3. having the same issue as everyone above... I've tried multiple iPods and IPhones to a varying degree of success. I did have the problem before updating to 3.01... To date, this is what I've tried: - swapped cable with Monster/USB cable - no change - updated F700BT to firmware 3.01 (needed to update maps anyway) - no change - downgraded iPod to firmware level 1.1.1 - no difference - contacted Pioneer - predictably, NO DIFFERENCE. Pioneer's answer is "send it in and include a $200 check if it's out of warranty" because the warranty on the unit only supports shipping it to Ohio. H
  4. OK, here's an update... I went ahead and bought the 3.0 firmware upgrade from Pioneer (wanted to update the maps anyway). Long story short, the issue still remains and, if anything, is worse than ever. I'm thinking it's one of two things (or a combo of both): power from the USB just isn't cutting it or the unit doesn't know what to do with 75gb of data. I've noticed that on the rare occasion that it does appear, if i want to change the album playing, the iPod will disappear shortly after changing the album. It's almost like the AVIC doesn't know how to handle that much data. Off t
  5. True, that may get it to come back up but it doesn't always work (actually it works for less that 20% of the time). I restored my classic, put the newest software on it and plugged it back in. Came up without fanfair and life was grand... until... I take it into work with me every day so i can listen to it while at my desk. Every day i leave, plug it back in to the cable and... nothing. I restart it, still nothing. I unplug it, restart it and plug it back in - nothing. I'm pretty sure that when i go back out to my truck tomorrow morning and start my commute, it'll be there and work fine
  6. Would love to know if anyone knows how to solve this. I've been having the exact same problem with both my 80GB iPod and my iPhone. USB drives play fine (so i know it's not the USB cable) and i've replaced the Pioneer cable with the Monster cable that people have discussed in other threads. The iPod does occasionally make an appearance and plays for a while, but those appearances are few and far between. Even when it does show up, i select a song and most likely it disappears... HELP! p.s. - i have an f700bt with the 2.0 firmware (which is another issue... can't get that updated - but
  7. My apologies if this has been resolved in another thread but in my defence, I did do a search and came up empty... Here's the problem. I have an f700bt with the Pioneer iPod cable. I use the iPod in my truck but take it out to use it at work. Going home, i plug the iPod back into the headunit and BAM - iPod doesn't show up. Sometimes, after turning the headunit off/on a couple of times it shows, other times resetting the iPod gets it going; most of the time i drive home from work listening to XM instead of my iPod. Regardless, invariably it does appear again but when it's going to
  8. Thanks gsxr... I've tried wiping the SD card multiple times, reformatting it (FAT16), redownloading just that file and also redownloading the whole zip file from Pioneers website to no avail. ): this is the link i've been using to get the files... http://ds1.downloadtech.net/cn1010/firm ... 006000.zip maybe it's the wrong one? but... if you could email it to me (it's 168K), i'd appreciate it. gunslinger_NOSPAM_201@gmail.com (obviously remove the _NOSPAM_) THANKS!! -Gunny
  9. OK... tearing my hair out. Have an F700BT that I'm trying to update the firmware on from 2.00000 to 2.006. Each time it boots from the SD card and states (with a bright red background mind you) that the LPUE080/APL/AVRES.RES file is wrong. I have the 2.006 firmware from Pioneer's site 4 times now and can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Both folders are where they are supposed to be on the SD card, it's formatted the correct way... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated... Cheers -Gunny
